12/5: Carrie wins five Billboard Music Awards
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Billboard Music Awards, which I didn’t watch, aired Monday night on Fox and Carrie Underwood won the following:
Album of the Year, “Some Hearts”
Country Album of the Year, “Some Hearts”
Female Billboard 200 Album Artist of the Year
Female Country Artist of the Year
New Country Artist of the Year
Not a bad take! This was based on SoundScan sales, not a vote of any sort.

Good for Carrie. She deserved it! But I didn’t watch either. I am not a huge award show fan unless its the Grammys.

I watched the show and I said to myself, “What if Carrie wins.” They only presented one that I remember on air. And of course they called her name. It was also nice that Paula got to give her the award. She looked great and of course she thanked AI.

Hopefully these wins will put a muzzle on the likes of LeAnn Rimes. I think Carrie has earned every award she’s received. She was either voted as the favorite or the sales showed she was a favorite. I saw the show and she was sweet, cute and humble.
And Mary J. was awesome!

Mary J got like 9 awards didn’t she? I was pleasantly surprised. Gwen Stefani’s performance was good. I expected more from Fergi than just standing there touching herself but I love that song. Isn’t that the beat from JJ Fad?

Fergi looked pregnant. She was stiff, and that dress was not becoming. Eventhough she still looked pretty.

Good Morning Everyone!!!! Long time no talk. I have been blog hoppin’. I did nt see the Billboard Awards, but I know that you only come on stage once and get all your awards at that time. I remember one year Janet had like 9 awards on the podium. Yes, Carla that is a JJ Fad sample, instead of supersonic, she says fergalicious.

Carla, I thought that was SaltNPeppa but it probably was JJFad. I love that song too. I like all her songs because they are different. Shay sings….To da D to da E to da L-I-C-I-O-U-S to da D to dat E…..
Is she saying Perkalicious??

Good Morning! I didn’t watch either but heard about Carrie’s wins on the radio. That is wonderful for her!! Yes, that oughta muzzle the likes of Lee Ann and Faith. I didn’t hear about either of them being at that awards show :-)Carrie has a lot of talent and has had an amazing year. I would say she is approaching the success of Kelly Clarkson as far as former idols are concerned.
Oh, BTW, I went to Taylor’s website last night and gave a few of his songs a listen. I love them! Runaround is very typical Taylor. Like a poster mentioned yesterday, it has an old school/ 80’s/ Billy Joel type feel, harmonica and saxaphones. Its fun! The Right Place is really good, slow and bluesy, it just made me melt. I so hope the album is well received!!

Sure thing, shay. I just heard a little snippet of Carrie’s acceptance speech. She is so humble and appreciative and doesn’t forget her AI roots. That is so great! I like to see an artist win that is truly, truly appreciative and proud.

Billboard Awards made me feel OLD (I’m 35)Carrie is deserving. I’m glad she won. Most of the artists I did not know their song at all. ZZ Top playing a 30 year old song at the end was the highlight. Gwen’s song wasn’t even a song, is she a cheerleader now? I know I’m out of touch when I am rooting for Red Hot Chilli Peppers to win (I liked them in 1988) Also good to see Rick and Phil from Def Leppard.
