10/31: Kellie Pickler’s CD out today

Go figure that of all the Season five contestants, Kellie Pickler would be the first the gate with “Small Town Girl.” Reviews have been decent, including our paper and USA Today. USA Today says it’s like “Pam Tillis fronting the Bangles.” Some reviewers seem dumfounded that it’s actually not bad! Here’s an example from the NY Daily News. And she had her hand writing five of the 11 tunes.
Also, Billboard reports that Carrie Underwood is the first artist since Wynonna more than two decades ago to have her first three country singles go No. 1. (“Before He Cheats” follows “Jesus Take the Wheel” and “Don’t Forget to Remember Me.” Her CD has sold more than 3 million copies.
