9/28: Jewel to host Nashville Star no. 5

“Nashville Star” draws maybe 6% of the audience of “American Idol” and Carrie Underwood and Josh Gracin of “Idol” fame have had greater success than any “Nashville Star” winner or finalist (sorry, Buddy Jewell and Miranda Lambert)
But if you do watch it (and it’s mildly diverting if you’re into country), the new co-host will be Jewel, replacing Wynonna. Cowboy Troy remains as the other co-host. In seasons one and two, Nancy O’Dell of Access Hollywood hosted, followed by LeAnn Rimes in season three.
The show starts up early next year and is currently in auditions.

Too bad…really liked Winona. Don’t get Jewel as a host but maybe she’s in need of a career revival. Don’t think her last album did much. Glad C-Troy will return. He’s amusing.
