9/28: Idol semifinalist in local play

Remember Kinnik Sky, a semifinalist from Idol 5?

Here’s info about her appearance in a local play:

Medicine, ethics, and the arts. Can’t believe that those ideas collide? Well they are colliding at Theatrical Outfit as they premiere Mark St. Germain’s, The God Committee.

One of the most intriguing characters in this production, Dr. Kierra Banks, played by Ms. Kinnik Sky, was one of last seasons top 16 contestants on American Idol. She is bringing a breath of fresh air to the stage that only the sky can. Don’t miss her in this riveting new drama that runs through October 8. Check it out, www.theatricaloutfit.org.

I saw the play. She plays a man who had a sex change. It’s based on a true story — hers.

Well I guess this was the next best thing for her. She never really got it going with the singing in the competition. I won’t be going to see it, but if anyone does, let us know how she did.

Oh how soon we forget shay. Remember the incident with me and greg and the white pillow case? Then the next day I went to show him the pictures and caught him and Camille?

He tried to deny it with the whole “this isn’t what it looks like excuse, but I didn’t buy it. Well things were never the same after that. So I just started looking for someone who would treat me better. So greg started this whole thing. And I can’t believe you took his side!

And I’m sorry, but the first comment today was really funny. JMO.

Did you had a crush on your 11th grade teacher?

By shay

Oh yeah!!! I remember now Jex. I took his side because men sometimes don’t know any better. We raise them, remember?? But you on the other hand, know better. Tryin’ to still see Greg on the side and this new guy. I just felt bad for greg because he already has to sit in that room all day at work, and then to find out that you are playing footsies with somebody else, just ain’t right!

Mornin’ All! Oh, I remember Kinnik. Good to hear that she has found something to do with her time :-)

And, I agree with Carla, the first comment was kind of LOL funny!

Yes, we do have to raise men!!

In case you haven’t heard for those of you who watch Run’s House, he and his wife lost their daughter right after her birth.

By Jex

September 28, 2006 1:17 PM | Link to this

Carla, I read about that yesterday and still can’t believe it. I can’t even begin to imagine how she feels she really wanted a girl. Apparently it just wasn’t meant to be. So sad.

By mystique

I heard about that this morning, how sad!

By shay

September 28, 2006 1:40 PM | Link to this

Carla, I heard about that on Monday. That is sad. His wife doesn’t have any girls and really wanted a baby girl. Besides, the loss of any child is devastating whether you planned the pregnancy or not. My neighbor found her baby dead in the crib about 2 weeks ago. And her baby was 5 months old. I felt so bad for her.

“Screech”, I mean Dustin Diamond, made a sex tape with two women. WWWWWTTTTTFFFFFF???

My 9 year old has a bigger chest than he does.

By mystique

OMG, such sad baby stories! I can’t imagine the pain of that loss and I feel for them.

What, SCREECH??? Who in their right mind would be in a sex tape with that boy?

“It’s alright cause I’m saved by the bell.”

Man I loved that show. Poor Screech. I hope he gets it together. The things people do for money.

Did anyone get Clay’s album?

By shay

mystique, I don’t know. When I heard the story, all I could do was laugh. He is so skinny and lanky and not so cute!!! A sex tape??? Too funny!!

Back to the topic at hand….I actually saw the play last night and thought it was excellent!

God Committee is a thought-provoking play and the cast delivered a solid performance. Kinnick was rather good!

Hey greg.

Niketa, were many people there? This was the first time I’d heard about it.

Saved by the bell used to be the bomb. I know I have seen every episode at least 200 times. Especially the ones where they worked at the beach.

You know, Kinnik was an actress/singer as opposed to a singer/actress anyway. So I’m not surprised that she was good in the play. She wasn’t that great on AI, so I guess she should let acting be her day job.

shay I can’t believe you’re actually a SBTB fan. I am so disappointed in you.

By mystique

September 28, 2006 3:59 PM | Link to this

I didn’t watch SBTB but I wasn’t living under a rock..so I have seen the geekiness that is Screech!!

Bleeeeeeck

Jex, what’s wrong with SBTB? I was a teenager when it came on. Of course I watched the show. It was about highschool kids and I was in highschool.

DUH!

And why aren’t you disappointed in Carla. She watched it too!!

By Niketa

@Carla, yes it was 65% full. Theatrical Outfit is downtown right next to the Rialto on Luckie St.

The play is very well written and fuses moral and religious dilemna’s with humorous wit in a hospital setting.

Glad Kinnik has found her groove. While she was on AI she would do interviews with the Bert Show from time to time and sounded like a really sweet girl. Not cut out for singing though. Remember her Redneck Woman? I shudder at the thought! Soooo did not fit her style. As I recall that was the last song she sang there too!

Thank-you to all those who continue to support me. I think this show is great but then again I could be a little bias. God bless all of you. You too Wanda. : )
