9/12: UGA students try out
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Here’s a story about a few UGA students trying out (and striking out) for “Idol” in Memphis.
My favorite rationalization for getting rejected:
“You have to have a story to get through, said Megan Waters, a sophomore from Roswell. “And if you’re too good, they won’t take you because they want it to be an amateur competition.
Yes. They reject people who are “too” good. That makes perfect sense!

Well, now we know how some people (Brenna) make it to the top 20 and others who were way better in the auditions get cut.

Too bad I am now officially too old for Idol. I would KICK some serious A$$ if they raised the age to 35!

The age restrictions is even more proof that they want amateurs. An older singer could be too experienced for what they are trying to do with the show.
