9/6: Former Norcross resident Tamyra Gray gets married
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Former Norcross resident and top four finalist from season one Tamyra Gray has gotten hitched! She married Sam Watters, a songwriter and producer who was in the early ’90s R&B group Color Me Badd, in Capri, Italy, on Saturday, PEOPLE has confirmed.
Yes, that’s the Color Me Badd known for songs like “I Wanna Sex You Up,” “All 4 Love” and “I Adore Mi Amor.” Interestingly, he co-wrote “A Public Affair,” the latest single by Jessica Simpson.
Tamyra has had a varied post-Idol career, including acting (“The Gospel,” stints on several TV shows), singing (her album “The Dreamer”) and Broadway (“Bombay Dreams”). She hasn’t quite broken out but it sounds like she’s still at it.
Here’s the People story.
9/6: Mario “Shortcut” Vazquez new CD
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Believe it or not, Mario “Shortcut” Vazquez, who quit “Idol” last year before the final 12, actually got a deal with Clive Davis and has a CD coming out. He even has a top 20 hit with “Gallery,” which is the height of mediocrity to me.
He never gave a clear reason why he left.
“I feel like I’ve accomplished something major but I also feel like I have a lot to prove,” he says to Billboard. “With this record, I hope it answers people’s questions of why I left, artistically.”
Anybody here plan on buying his CD?
