9/5: Memphis auditions 2nd most popular ever

Memphis auditons, which started yesterday, were monstrous.

According to the Commercial Appeal, 16,000 people registered to try out, the second most in “Idol” history. Memphis was cancelled last year because of Katrina and Greensboro was the sub, thus creating careers out of Chris, Bucky & Kellie.

Good Morning! I figured Memphis would be huge. With such a musical history there you can’t help but get the itch to perform in that city! I would have loved to seen it all, I was there one weekend too soon :)

It still sucks that Atlanta didn’t get an audition this year!

Good Morning Everyone! I think the numbers will just get bigger and bigger every year. I know there are people out there who keep saying “I’ll do it next year.” And one year they’ll have enough courage to do it. Especially if AI announces “This is the last season.” Of course that will only be a gimmick.

Hi Wanda and Jex! Yes, AI numbers will just keep growing and growing. It is a seemingly easy way to break into the entertainment industry. A chance of a lifetime!

I am sure there were more n’a couple of hunka hunka burnin’ Elvis impersonators there!
