What was your favorite/least favorite Super Bowl ad?

If you enjoy watching men tossed out a window, struck by a bus, hit by a golf club, tackled by a football player or laid low by a snow globe to the crotch, then this year’s Super Bowl was for you, the New York Times said of last night’s ads. Otherwise, the Times, said, it all was a little predictable. What was your favorite? Least favorite? Notice any trend?

The best were the Budweiser Clydesdales and the Doritos ads. Most of the others were pretty forgettable. The 3D ones? I never noticed the 3D glasses being available in any of my local Publix or Kroger stores so maybe they were better in 3D at least as a novelty.

All were pretty much garbage, IMO. The only one worth a chuckle was the one with the box of flowers (“No one wants to see you naked!”) and the only one with a hearty laugh was CareerBuilder.com (punching small animals).

You have to be joking about the Careerbuilder ad. That made me want to tear my hair out. I liked the bug’s Coke commercial and the babies. “Take…these broken wings.” Laughed myself silly. Cute baby, too.

I was very disappointed in the commercials. Budweiser was good, but not as great as they have been in the past.

Pretty disappointed as a whole.

Budweiser, as always, were very good. The Dorito’s commercials made me chuckle. Loved the E*Trade commercial!

The ads as a whole were in a word, lame. A couple of the Budweiser ads, as usual, were pretty cute as ware a couple of the Coke ads. The rest, however were either “in your face” or just dumb.

I agree with dawgdan. Not many funny ones, but I did laugh at the one with the talking flowers, and the one with the apes dressed in clothes. That was about it.

i didn’t like any of the bud light/budweiser commercials, except i did like the conan o’brien one. the e*trade commercials with the talking baby was meh, i really really liked the careerbuilder.com one (“hey dummy” was the best part of any commercial all night). and i also liked the jason statham-audi commercial. the doritos commercials were the worst ones of the night.

Love that eTrade kid, especially, “Check the rule book, shankoppotomus.” I just want to know how he stays so young. ;)

The Budweiser commercials have come to waaay overestimate how interesting the Clydesdales are. Maybe next year they’ll run one to explain how they’re now working for some Belgian company.

As a Star Trek fan, I of course loved the new look at the Star Trek movie.

The dorito’s one was absolutely hilarious, but I thought they should have left it at the guy smashing the snack machine. the guy throwing it at the end and hitting a his boss was way too predictable, and thus, not as funny. It started out with a wonderfully hilarious bang, but ended on a whimper.

I loved the budwiser horse love commercial. It was sweet.

Just wanted to second that complaint about the 3D glasses. If you want to promote something like that, it would be nice to actually get the glasses out there. I was looking for a month and never saw them anywhere.

Combine that with Pepsi’s lame commercials and their other genius moves… changing Gatorade to ‘G’?… and I see a marketing department about to implode.

I agree with Nettie. I always look forward to the Budweiser commercials (loved the one where the horse comes back with the tree branch…); however, they were not as good as they have been in the past. For the most part, I could not remember any of the commericals when I got up this morning. I was still thinking about the game. The game was unbelievable, the commercials not so much=)

I like the commercial with Bob Dylan and Will-I-Am, sort of a old school/new school type thing and I love the CareerBuilder’s one. Me and my kids laughed so hard I didn’t even realize what the ad was about until the very end. “Hey Dummy”. That was too funny to me.

The ads were crap this year….aside from Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head the ads were dull. I did however like the movie trailer for TRANSFORMERS! That movie looks like its going to be really good!

The ads were not up to par this year. But I did like the Budweiser “Clydesdale” and the Heros “Football Game” commericals.

This is the formula for figuring out the plot of a commercial in the first second. If there is a white male in the commercial, he will be the “butt of the joke.” Check it out anytime you watch tv
