Who’s your favorite comedian?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Which comedian tickles your funnybone?
Filmmaker Michael Kantor recently put together a documentary on the history of comedy and what makes Americans laugh.
The documentary, “Make ‘Em Laugh: The Funny Business of America,” focuses on all forms of comedy - from stand-up to TV series.
So we decided to do our own ‘comedian laugh-off’ and asked you to decide who was the funniest. Robin Williams or Lily Tomlin? Jerry Seinfeld or Whoopi Goldberg?
Who did we leave out? Which comedian leaves you in stitches?

Where is Dave Chappell!?!? Where is Damon Wayans?!?!?
Richard P is definately the funniest. But I gotta give Ellen her props…some of her old stuff is way funny, and in a comic off she came in 2nd to Sinbad (of all people)! Some comics that folks mention aren’t stand up…seems like this is for stand-up folks only.

Dave Chappelle. I know he’s not a pioneer (in terms of age), but he is hilarious (as long as we’re not talking necessarily clean comedy.

Dave Chappelle. I know he’s not a pioneer (in terms of age), but he is hilarious (as long as we’re not talking necessarily clean comedy. Martin is comedic on tv, but not necessarily ha-ha funny & yes Bernie Mac for a certain style. Overall forgotten I think Dave Chappelle.

Dat Fan and Lewis Black. Rich Little and Jonathan Winters. Lets not forget some of the old timers like Brother Dave Garner, Andy Griffith, Justin Wilson, Nipsy Russell, and Dick van D**. These people somehow managed get a laugh without using the “f” word. Can you believe it?

Hands down it’s Jonathan Winters all time, with Robin Williams a fairly close second. The quick wit and creativity are matched by nobody else in the business that I’m aware of. Bob Newhart, Richard Pryor, Bill Cosby, Rich Little, Billy Crystal, Steve Martin, Ron White, Redd Foxx, and others are good, but Winters stands miles ahead of them.

all of them are funny, but i don’t think you can narrow it down without including john candy, chris farley, phil hartman, bernie mac, john belushi (may they rip)!!! I have a sense of humor, but it takes alot to make me laugh really hard, the movie black sheep, chris farley and david spade cracked me up so bad that my sides hurt from laughing…and i still love to watch the bernie mac show, he was amazing!!!

Dave Chappelle is hilarious. Robert schimmel (before he got so hung up on his own mortality). Howie Mandel is one of the two funniest comedians I’ve ever seen live. Of course Robin Williams (While still on coke). The funniest of all time is…..Mark Rennie
