Need gas? Go here.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Silly me. I woke up this morning hoping that with my early schedule I would find gas on my drive to downtown from Marietta. However, the stations where I usually stop were out of gas.
Now, I’m planning my drive home.
Where have you found gas within the last hour or so? How much did you pay? We don’t want a thesis. Just the quick and dirty. Where and how much? Let’s keep this going to help other metro Atlantans find gas.
(Update: 5:50 p.m. EPA waiver expected to increase metro gas supply The federal government waived the low-sulfur requirement for metro Atlanta gasoline, as shortages and panicked buying continued.

You are sure to get gas at this station. On my drive home from work yesterday this station had gas but there was a long line. On my drive home from work today this same station had gas but again you would have to wait in line. I’m talking about the Shell Station next to Regal Nissan on Holcomb Bridge.
If you approach the station from Holcomb Bridge you’ll have to wait in line. However, if you approach it through the back road; it’s the road that when you turn right you automatically end up on 400 you will not have to wait in line depending on what time you get there. I got there about 5:20 and only had to wait like 10 minutes. There was one other car in front of me at the time.
Gas here is 4.09 a gallon and when I got it today all they had was 87. They were out of 89 and 93.
Hope this helps anybody whom may need it.

I found a journal article that is confirming my opinion. Any gas shortages to the SE region are temporary. We should be back to full availability by mid November.
Those of you who are very low should consider not driving the equivalent of 1 week prior to November 9.
I am monitoring the situation closely and should have more info soon.

OIL COMPANIES WILL BE BUYING YOUR GOVERNMENT
The Secretary of the Treasury is proposing a $700 BILLION bailout of big businesses that made bad business decisions. Letting them fail will affect all of us, bailing them out will affect all of us (pain now or pain later)
That money is NOT coming out of thin air. SOMEBODY will be loaning the U.S. Government that $700 billion. WHO HAS THAT KIND OF MONEY LAYING AROUND???
China, Saudi Arabia, the oil companies make up most of the short list.
Which one of these entities do YOU want dictating the actions of the U.S. Government every time the T-bills come up for renewal???
If the “free market” worked so well, why wouldn’t these entities with the $$$ just bypass the U.S. Government and directly bail out those companies in financial trouble??
Can you say “Yes, Exxon, you are my daddy… Please, take my taxes and my paycheck.”???
Thank your Congress for asking a few questions before handing over the $$$ Let’s hope (or demand?) that ask enough of the right questions.

State revenue - If the officials would impose the state law requiring new residents to purchase auto tags within 30 days of moving here, wonder how much money the state would make rather than continuing to raise the “legal residents” taxes? Hello1 Wake up1 WE can’t continue to support everyone! It’s a daily thing to see out-of- state tags, expired tags, etc. and they just go their merry way…
This isn’t true. When I moved here, I was unsure as to whether I should get a GA tag or keep my SC tag and let it expire. If you believe this gas “shortage” is from the hurricane, I have a bridge for sale. This is just a scare tactic to make sure the drilling ban expires next week so oil tycoons like the president can get free crude to sell back to us at enormous prices as gas.

If Sonny Perdue is one thing he’s consistent. He was the last to comprehend the state of the drought for North Georgia. Now, he was the last to comprehend there was a gas supply problem in Georgia, as well as in FL, TN, AL and other states. No one has ever said he was the sharpest tool in the shed.

I thought this link would tell me where to find fuel, and not be just another forum for losers. Speaking of losers, the liberal B. Hussein Obama supporters want to impose a “minimum” gasoline purchase of ten gallons. Well, my fuel-saving sub-compact doesn’t even HOLD ten gallons. What am I supposed to do? Bring a gas can with me. Somewhere, the 300-pound Al Gore is chuckling over his now-worthless carbon credits.

No Gas in Canton, the Shell on 5-75 and Bells Ferry had a tanker arrive at 7 pm-ish, long line.
Chevron on Chastain and 75 …. long line.
Racetrac on Wade Green Road … long line.
Those were the only three I saw with gas. I have a Honda CRX that gets 40 mpg - so I should be ok for a few more days - will keep my eye out and GUYS, CHILL WITH THE POLITICAL BS, FAMILIES ARE DEPENDENT ON THIS INFO.

Good morning, please listen carefully. There IS gas and plenty of it. Spoke to a tanker driver just this morning at the Shell station. He’s got plenty, there IS plenty of gas, he’ll make another shipment Friday, and again Saturday. As a hardworking man here was the wisdom he shared with me. Don’t panic. Don’t listen to the station owners, or the news media. They are opening the pumps and closing them at will. The gas is there.(and I would think He knows since he’s the one transporting it) No need to top off. No need to panic. After speaking to him I didn’t even fill my tank. If you’ve got 1/2 a tank, you’re more than fine…If you have less, unfortunately you’ll have to wait in line. I love speaking to people who actually know what’s going on and not the gouger behind the counter saying, “hurry and fill up we about to run out!” (at exactly the same time they did yesterday, by the way) Try to make it a good day, and once again…don’t panic.

All,
I am monitoring the situation closely.
There is a strong rumor going around about deliveries to the South East region.
Here’s what I know so far:
We should be back up to speed by Nov 12, 2008. If anyone is still facing shortages then, please post here and I will see what I can find out.

Well, I’m posting here because the AJC didn’t provide a posting link to their article regarding Sonny Perdue’s comments about the fuel SHORTAGE. Personally, I don’t believe that there is or has ever been a fuel shortage, but a “created shortage” by the oil companies and that other criminal organization, our government. I heard it first on WSB this morning that the governor had stated that there is no shortage in Georgia, and specifically Atlanta. Another sign of the aristocratic mindset of our elected officials that WE elect to serve US. What an idiot! I guess the current metro Atlanta average price that is 42 cents higher than the national average is just a figment of our imagination. The fuel stations that have no fuel,…must be imagining that too. The ones that have fuel that have long lines, well………., must be a figment of my imagination too. I wonder when was the last time that he filled his auto’s fuel tank at a “public” gas station? Another elected official who’s “in touch” with true issues!
I have always pretty much leaned towards the conservative side, but these elected idiots have been so self serving in filling their own pockets with corporate kickbacks and benefits, that they have forgotten about “the working guy”. I say to hell with all of them and lets start voting these self-serving and arrogant deadbeats out of ofice starting this November and not stop throughout the years until all of the incompetent trash has been flushed from OUR system. I hope that while our state deals with trying times in this current economic “funk”, our governor and his selected friends can enjoy themselves on the upcoming tax payer funded european “business” trip. As they are enjoying themselves doing so mush for our state, we’ll all be at home and work trying to put the pieces of the puzzle together so we can try to outlast these trying times. I hope the aristocrats enjoy their vacation!

I agree with “who cares” posted at 9:05 September 25th. In the Grayson area you can only get premium fuel and on the southside of town around Fayetteville you can only get regular…when you can find it. Last friday night no station in Fayetteville had any fuel…but early saturday morning THEY ALL HAD FUEL!!! Imagine that.
