What do you think of Biden on the Democratic ticket?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Barack Obama selected Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware late Friday night to be his vice presidential running mate, according to a Democratic official, balancing his ticket with an older congressional veteran well-versed in foreign policy and defense issues. What do you think of his selection?

Biden? Biden was one of the strongest opponents to Barack. Biden stated unequivocally that Barack would not be ready to lead this Nation for yet another 15 years! Now he’s Barack’s VP? It will interesting to see if Barack can still pull it off without the majority of Hillary’s 18 million voters that will surely now be in Mcain’s corner.

Wave of disappointment that he didn’t have the guts to deliver an Obama/Clinton ticket—that would have been so righteous, they would have been unbeatable. That only happens in the movies, I guess. My family will still support Obama, of course, and we like Biden. Hope they can win in November!

One can already read (here and elsewhere) that the 29%ers (McCain included) are angry over this pick. That means one thing above all others: Senator Obama got it right. This election just became a lock for the Democratic Party.

Biden is a liar, having had to drop out of a past presidential race because he was caught telling stories about the struggles of his childhood to a crowd of supporters, except the stories were actually about another guy’s childhood. For all who claim Bush is a liar, how can you now put Biden in the vice presidency?

This simply tells you that this is Obama is a real Democrat who welcomes criticisms and uses it to advance his course. Wise and honest people do not make critics their enemies. They use criticism as a tool to measure their weaknesses and improve on them; that is what makes them powerful.
If you old politics demands that you punch your critics on the face. Terrorize him with guns and bombs if possible never reason with him even if he is right. We see that in Bush, we see that in McCain and we have seen how such politics has ruined this country. This country need honest people to turn it around and not proud and ignorant war veteran bullies.

Th Mccains are angry and all they can do is to throw stones at anything that can save this country from their blistering machine.
Why will they not panic and get angry on Biden”s pick? They will no more have much to say about “inexperience and not being ready to lead”. They better start looking for another campaign topic very fast because the slogan of “inexperience and not ready to lead” is fast evaporating.

What a coward. He knew he had no experience, no cahunas, and was weak foreign policy wise so he picks someone MORE qualified than he to be President!! What a joke! Once Mccain picks Romney, forget it Dems..it is all over for you again. You can never pick a viable candidate can you? The one the Dems should have picked was Hillary, and you blew that fish out of the water. Of all of the candidates, she was the most qualified. I am voting for Mccain too. The Biden pick is a good one. The job of a VP is to be president’s final ear and voice on major decisions. Biden has 35 years experience and a solid record. His foreign relations experience is unquestioned. Barack can continue to promote and institute his message of change, and still govern in the best interests of this nation. All the cartoon rethoric about Biden saying this or saying that means nothing. This is our country we’re talking about and the choice he made is a sound one.

I don’t know if I can stand for 4 years of watching his hair plugs change, and his endless variations on pink ties.
Blowhard Biden is the most egotistical, arrogant, sefl-centered and sharp-tongued Democrap partisan in the stable.
Because of this, he’ll fit right in with OBLA-BLA-ma.
Biden has a tendency to let his tongue run loose and step in it. I will GUARANTEE there will be a controversy about this blabbermouth hack spills out off-the-cuff. He’s already stepped in it with his racist stereotype comment that hacked off the justice brothers (the reverends Sharpton andJackson).
Believe me, as much as this guy talks, everyone is going to be SICK OF HIM by the time November rolls around.

If Biden is so great, why didn’t the Democraps nominate him in the primaries?
Could it be:
-Nobody thought he could win.
-The guy’s mouth gets him into too much trouble?
-He stated Obama wasn’t ready to be president—maybe in 15 years?
-He has little personal appeal, coming across as biting, critical and sharp-tongued.
-Women are turned off ~~not only by this guy’s mean-spirited personal demeanor, but “he’s not Hillary*.
Having Biden on the ticket is like having a neophyte green-horn running the office and the experienced expert telling him what to do.
O-bummer is going to have to explain why Biden is not at the top of the ticket.

“Change we can believe in”??? Biden has been part of the establishment since the 1970s!!! That’s not change we can believe in. Furthermore, Biden doesn’t even speak his own words or tell his own stories; he picks the stories of better orators (e.g., Kinnock) and makes them his own.
Biden is perhaps the worst mistake O-blah-ma has made. Now we can really listen to loquacious rhetoric. Blah, blah, blah.

The democratic ticket is strengtened with Biden as the VP nominee. Biden is analytical and is able to assess the military and political situation. He can easily counteract the fuzziness of McCain’s arguments; for example, the real reason for the surge was to make it possible to settle the Iraqui political situation not to “win” the war in Iraq.

Biden has been in the Senate way to long, but he does have experience with leaders in other countries and their respect, not to mention that he supported his son who is going to Iraq which is more than 98% of the chicken hawk Republican leaders. McBush is a doddering old fool who never had an original idea in his life, not to mention he was a crummy pilot which multiple crashes to prove it. I thought Obama would have gotten a more moderate Democrat to offer some balance, but the Democrats think they can win no matter what this year. Therefore, they’re pushing their Socialist agenda to the extreme with these two. I’m no fan of McCain either, but I’ll go to the polls to vote against Obama-Biden.

To All Hillary Supporters…Heres is the deal…if we vote for Mccain then we have a shot at the presidency in 2012. If you vote for Obama and he wins, Hillary will likely never have another shot. Given the fact that Obama is so disrespectful to us and the fact that Mccain is not the typical republician..I say we get back at Obama and give Hillary a shot in 2012. Vote MCCAIN!

Obama talks about being the canidate for change and behind the scenes he is leaque with the old guard of the Democratic party, that have continued to demoralize this country with terrible policy making as they have controlled congress. Where is the change that you espouse Barack? It certainly is not in your voting record and now in your pick for a running mate.

You people are the reason the electoral college still exists. “The masses are ASSES!” This was a great pick for Obama. Clinton??? Why? Because she is a white woman who isn’t used to losing. Blacks have been losing all of our lives! Should Obama have given in to the political pressure of selecting HILLARY as his VP! HECK NO! Obama is moving this country forward! If you dumb blondes want to vote for the OLD GUY, go ahead! Don’t go crying when your husbands, sons, nephews, and fathers are drafted for the next war by that war monger! People…give me a break! For all of the angry Clinton supporters, please vote for McInSANE! Let’s see what happens when Roe v. Wade (1972) is tossed out and it is a crime to have an abortion in the “land of the free.” What is more important to you? Electing an African American male who will do the right thing or electing a old guy (who is near death) and killing more of our children. I am sick of it! Wake up and get some sense!!!!

As a longtime supporter of Senator McCain, I’ll admit that my greatest political fear was the idea of Senator Obama choosing Governor Sebelius as his running mate—-a smart, dynamic, battle-tested chief executive from the heartland with lots of crossover appeal and no Washington baggage. Instead, Senator Obama chooses a man who, while a very intelligent/experienced/respectable politician, has been a Washington Beltway insider for literally decades——which, of course, goes against the grain of Senator Obama’s key message, the “Yes we can!” changing of the culture of Washington. Senator Biden epitomizes the culture of Washington, for better or worse. And obviously, Senator Obama’s failure to choose Governor Sebelius or another capable female candidate is (intended or not) a slap in the face to Senator Clinton and all her supporters, many of whom have worked for decades to open up the political process to women. Ideologically speaking, I’m no fan of Senator Clinton; but I do respect and admire her as a woman of substance, and for blazing so many trails for our generation’s daughters and granddaughters. 2008 was to be THE year—-the year when the dream would come true, the year when women would finally break through and blaze the trail to the front door of the White House. Instead, Senator Obama swooped down at the eleventh hour and—-while winning the nomination fair and square—-created the perception that he is a dream killer, that the implied message of his candidacy (bolstered by his choice of a man as a running mate when clearly he should have chosen a woman to bind the party’s wounds)—-that his message to Democratic women is “Get in line, honey. It’s my turn. Cool your heels for the next eight years.”

This is what I don’t get about the diehard Hillary supporters:
What exactly are the main policy differences between the two, a slight difference in the approach to health care coverage? A differing approach to the mortgage crisis?
What policy issues do McCain and Hillary Clinton actually have in common?
Any so called Hillary Supporter who votes for McCain is a fool, and more than likely influenced more by the color of a candidates skin than anything else.
If Obama had selected Clinton as VP, it would have been an act of appeasement and cowardice. Not picking Clinton was a bold decision that will serve him well.

Awful pick, from a moderate’s point of view. Biden brings nothing exciting or new to the ticket. I was planning to vote for him, and especially if he picked Nunn, but now not so much.
I guess Obama’s abandoning his 50 state strategy - the one that won him his party’s nomination - and now just focusing on the liberal vote he already had. Not the change I was hoping for.

Most of you people on this blog are insane. Why don’t you just admit the truth. You never planned to vote for Obama anyway. Hillary’s supporters on this blog are just plain stupid. If you truly believe in the democrats stance on the issues, you would still vote democratic. Hillary lost fair and square. Why do you insist on blaming Obama? The nomination was Hillary’s to lose. She lost. However, if she had won I would vote for her because I am a democrat. I would not take my vote to the republicans because the person I wanted to win lost. Are you voting for personal perferences, or for the democratic policies. Policies that will bring this country forward and out of the royal mess we are in right now. You fake turncoats, you NEVER cared for the policies Hilliary was putting forth. If you did, you would not even consider putting someone in office as McCain (who is giving you EVERY indication what is most important to him - more billions for Iraq at the expense of US economy, including health care, continued tax breaks for the millionaires, cancellation of Roe v Wade, on and on and on and on). He is not shy about any of this, but all you fake turncoats can think about is “getting back” at Obama. For what, winning the Democractic nomination? I guess I am stupid, dimwitted, and shortsighted for not going along with the party who handled this nomination process and the voting in such a insulting, heavily-tilted manner in favor of Obama over Hillary. What’s wrong with me and others like me for not wishing to bend over yet once again and vote for their golden boy, with all of the help that the media could provide to their poster child?!? Tsk, Tsk.
Newsflash. I shall get over this and do all of the above - when I finally pull the lever for the republican ticket - whoever that is and whatever it may bring. I will feel much better about the situation, then. The DNC didn’t give a rat’s patootie about how Hillary voters thought, felt, and voted then, and I’m certainly not gonna care when the time comes for them in November. In 1987, Biden harangued a voter who had the audacity to ask Jr. about his college grades and qualifications. Biden responded with a hateful and inaccurate rant in which he told the citizen: “I have a higher I.Q. than you do.” It was caught on a C-SPAN video. In addition to being a certified liar with brain damage, Biden also has one of the worst hair transplants known to man.

If you diehard Hillary supporters are really going to vote for McCain, at least give some policy reasons for it. If you can’t…well maybe there is another reason you won’t vote for a man who agrees with Hillary 90% of the time.

Non-factor. Obama is still too liberal and has too many borderline socialist policies for this country. Whether the voters will fall for the hype and the slickness of the speeches and ignore the substance is yet to be seen. For freedom and liberty and keeping the government from inserting itself into every nook and cranny of our lives, we best hope they don’t drink the Obama-Aid!

We are never going to like everyone a president chooses for positions so why b!tch and moan about his choice for VP. If you’re a real Democrat, vote Obama and go on with your lives. Bush has spent more than any President in the history of the US and driven us into a debt never seen before.
You talk about your wallet and your taxes - my question is … WHO DO YOU EXPECT TO PAY THE DEBT - THE BILL - THE BURDEN created by YOUR elected moron? Eventually the bills must be paid - since you elected the dumbest President ever to hold office - maybe you owe some $$ from your wallets?
Until some bright Republican can solve the issues created byt the level of thinking of our present administration - it IS time for a change.

the fact that obama is inexperienced in foreign policy is no surprise to anyone. i think he was very smart to choose biden for this reason. after all, that is the mark of a great leader - one who realizes his weaknesses but is wise enough to solicit the help of those who are strong in his weak areas. NO ONE is strong in every area. in addition, i’m glad he didn’t pick hilliary - maybe a good choice in the short term but NOT in the long-term for sure!!!

Obama’s brother, who is refered to as a stranger, will be his ultimate fate. A stranger? This is FAMILY, for pete’s sake. Someone that shows this lack of compassion for a blood relative CANNOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT AMERICAN CITIZENs because ultimately WE are all absolute strangers to him. What a complete farce he is as a human being. He cares nothing about YOU or your future yet you are gulliable enough to vote for him anyway.
Sad thing is, the skeletons will continue to come out of Osamas closet (and there IS more to come) and you morons will still vote for him. Obama’s best choice was Evan Bayh. He would have brought a very moderate (almost conservative) balance to Obama’s far left voting record, which would have silenced most of Obama’s critics and won over many independent voters. Instead, he goes with more of the same in picking Biden, a mouthpiece for the Democratic political machine and a horribly caustic personality. If McCain picks Leiberman or Romney, Obama will be lucky stay within 40 electoral votes of McCain this November.

Biden? Biden was one of the strongest opponents to Barack. Biden stated unequivocally that Barack would not be ready to lead this Nation for yet another 15 years! Now he’s Barack’s VP? It will be interesting to see if Barack can still pull it off (not confident he can) without the majority of Hillary’s 18 million voters that will surely now be in Mcain’s corner. So Obama, you blew it! Looks like history will repeat itself for it took 3 republican terms when Bill C. got elected in a landslide. The country at that point had more than enough of Reagan and daddy Bush by the time Bill Clinton ran. With this being said, Hillary hang in there for 2012. Amnerica, try to hang in there for 4 more years of economic oppression with McCain continuing the Bush non-existent policies and 4 more years of War. Historically the nominee does not have a chance in hell to re-run and win successfully so Obama, back to the Senate you go, if that is even available to you at this point!

For all of you people that says Obama’s pick for VP doesn’t matter because it is the President that we are voting for, I say that is a bunch of crap. True - the actual VP spot doesn’t matter that much - look how much impact Gore had as VP against his so called “global warming” versus when out of the office. But what DOES matter is Obama’s thinking and decision making skills. This was his first major choose. And if Biden is his pick for the best available VP then Obama’s thought and decision processes come into serious questioning. Obama wants complete CHANGE and a New Start for the country - Well, with the pick of an ultimate Washington insider like Biden - he has just made a laughing stock of “change”. He lost my vote with that one blunderous decision.

Biden is an excellent choice. This is what change is all about. Obama has shown that he knows how to put a cabinet together. A president is only as good as his administration. I do not understand why some many people can not grasped this. The people who said they go to vote for McCain now because of Obama VP choice,I have to ask why? Do you really want four more years of the same? Are you willing to sacrfice home, job, car and the realities that we face because you want Clinton? McCain represents another Bush Administration and we can not afford this. We need a president that can turn our economy around right now and McCain does not show that he can do this. The Republican Pary had eight years and now our economy is in shabbles. Voting for McCain means nothing has changed. As for me I want change and I what it now, So I am voting for OBAMA-BIDEN in November. It is time for a CHANGE!

Obama was dumb not to pick Hillary from the standpoint of electability.
If he loses he will kick himself.
But he may be smart if elected.
Just look at JFK and LBJ in 1960.
I dont Think Obama and Hillary would work that well together.
Unlike Kennedy & Johnson and Obama & Hillary though, Obama and Biden ought to work together better.
Like Kennedy though, if elected, Obama is going to need a lot of OJT. Biden would be a better teacher than Hillary.
Cheney Did much the same thing with Bush.
But between Obamas inexperience and Biden’s inability to control his mouth; electibility will be a challenge.
The undecided conservative Democrats and liberal Republican’s are going to decide this one.

One thing that I like about Barak Obama is that he doesn’t make decisions based on politics, but what he feels is good for the country. Yes, he could have chosen Clinton, but that would have been a pick based on politics and emotions of others. Other picks would have been lampooned based on the so-called experience issue. Biden is an excellent pick because it blunts the experience issue and puts the onus on McCain to pick someone of at least Biden’s statue. Don’t be taken by Biden’s previous comments, those were last year during the primaries and when your country needs you, you answer the call. The Republicnans will try to make this sound like gloom and doom, but that will only happen if the idiot McCain is elected. This pick demostartes yet again Obama’s desire to solve our nations problems instead of taking the easy political road.

This guy is a TOTAL DISASTER for average, everyday folk AND YOU ALL YOU “RICH” (yeah right) AMERICANS SHOULD KNOW THIS!! You all cannot even imagine how John McCain lives (from his $100 million dollar fortune). Most of you folk out there are not even close to being rich or, for that matter, middle class, but here you are runnng your mouths about how Obama-Biden are going to ruin this country. Makes me sick to see how all you “RICH” (yeah sure) folk try to relate to REALLY RICH McCain as if his wealth is going to rub off on you. But, alas, you probably think McCain really can feel the pain of the everyday Americans (of which you most likely are, if you still have a job or a home or …). To all you Democrats who are upset with the Republicans spending too much money:
Obama wants to spend MUCH, MUCH more. Leading economists predict his tax policies may lead to a world recession.
Why would you want to replace a president who spends too much with one who will spend WAY too much?
The answer must be that you expect to receive a piece of it. The WSJ last week equated Obama’s tax policy with welfare. If you get a tax “rebate” that exceeds what you pay in taxes, you are a welfare recipient. [The top 10% of tax filers pay 71% of all income taxes while the bottom 50% pay less than 4%.]
Is that your vision of hope and change for American?

One more thing…
Hillary and Obama share about 90% of the same views but because she wasn’t selected you threaten to vote for McCain.
Not every Republican is gunhoe about their nominee, but how many of them do you hear say they will vote democrat for this reason? Can’t think of many if any? I thought so. Yet you think a vote for McCain is a vote for Hillary in 2012. Yeah, ok…and I have a car for sale that runs on kool-aid.

When I said stop, I hoped that you would care to save some semblence of sanity for yourself! I see that was a fleeting hope. I frankly don’t think you have the ability to sway opinion. But, I do think you owe some measure of honesty to the bloggers and state your true party affiliation. I am not adverse to any HONEST dialogue, but frankly, many of us have had enough of the phony folk. And you are as phony as they come!!! Yawn. Biden is a ‘tireless campaigner’ who has failed to win, place or show in any primary in two attempts at the Presidency. This smells like a ‘last resort’ choice to me, but at least the Dems can put Delaware’s 3 electoral votes in their pocket.
(It’s well known in journalistic circles that if you don’t want big coverage for a story, you announce it on the weekend. So what does it say for Obama’s enthusiasm for this choice, leaking it at about 1am Saturday morning?)

War is a part of Life. Civilizations have been at War from the beginning of time. War is inevitable for any nation to survive. Anyone that says that we should give up the fight has their head in the sand. If we don’t fight for the existence of our country, the World as we all know it is done with. So all you Liberals need to bend over and kiss your a$$ goodbye.
Our enemies are just waiting for another Liberal President, ala the Clinton adminstration - asleep at the wheel and friendly towards Islamics and terrorists.

The Republicans are to be congratulated for maniplating the d** working class in 2000, and then again in 2004. And there is no doubt McCain will aptly take the baton from Bush and do it again in 2008.

There hasn’t been a Senator elected President in 48 years. Now there are three on the ticket(s). No executive experience in the bunch. Care to go for four?
The Senate is a deliberative body, which is a nice way of saying they stand around and talk a lot. They pass laws, resolutions, recommend actions. It’s up to someone else to actually do the work. Not these guys though.

Tr*thfully: It’s the same reason John Edwards admitted to his affair late on a Friday afternoon, the same reason Nixon fired his attorney general on the weekend, the same reason Clinton sent in his stormtroopers to sieze Elian Gonzalez on a Saturday morning. I’ve worked in and around newspapers most of my life and know this is a oft-used tactic to ease a story into the public consciousness, but not to cause a splash of attention. Face it, all the first-string reporters are taking it easy this weekend before the convention on Monday. You don’t have to believe me, just watch in the future. Bad news happens on the weekend (or late afternoon Friday).
This is all about making the VP choice, but not diverting too much attention from The Chosen One himself.

Now, this is interesting… Obama has put a so called “loose cannon” on his ticket. Moreover, the man publicly insulted him by saying that he was not ready to lead. Old man Biden has a big mouth. Therefore, Obama may have been able to distance himself from a another big mouth like Rev. Wright, but he can’t do it with his own VP pick. Biden is not used to operating in 2nd position. So, Barack may need to be ready to nurse the bullet wound that he put in his own foot today.

FOXNEWS: In the early morning hours of November 5th, Fox News is projecting John McCain as the 44th President of the United States after winning Ohio, Michigan, Minnesota and Colorado by a lazer thin margin over Obama-Biden. McCain’s 302 electoral votes have surpassed all polling indications.

How hypocritical can one party be. The Messiah has ben running ads saying McCain is the problem due to him being in Washington for 26 years and being part of the broken system. Well, Biden has been in Washington for 36 YEARS so evidently, he is also part of “the problem”. Oh, but wait, he is a Democrat, so obviously, he’s alright. Biden, by some accounts, has made bigoted and racial remarks in the past, but he is a Democrat, so it is alright. If McCain had said something like Biden had, the Choosen One would have had TV ads running about it. It fits with the thought process, especially if you have read the college thesis from Obama’s wife (which is very intolerant) and his 20 year assosciation with a church that has a philosiphy of black superiority (Black Liberation Theology) Also, for a party talking about being all inclusive, but they have made statements about McCain being to old (71). Well, Biden is only 6 years younger (65), but that’s right, he is a Democrat so it is alright. Biden has ran for the top spot several times and the people have not responded to him, so what makes him now the “perfect” pick for Obama. Will be interested in how they spin him now.

First - Buck, you’re an idiot! If you are worried about putting so much into a name, then maybe we should all vote for one of the Hispanic Men who live in the U.S. with the name of “Jesus”.
To The Truth Comes Out - If you google Obama’s Accomplishments you’ll see exactly what he has done for the Country. By saying he’s done nothing, you’re just showing your ignorance. Try researching before you are so quick to judge a candidate. (I too am 52 and college educated.)
Hey Zeus - Obama isn’t going after the ignorant and poor for votes, he’s trying to represent them to help them have a better life! Everyone knows the majority of Repubs are those who have it pretty easy in life, therefore don’t have the ability to connect with those in need.
And to the person who said Dems are objecting to McCain because of his length of time in Washington - not so. We object to his platform - pro-war, not a clue about the economy, no health care solutions, wants to drill for oil off the U.S. even though he admits it will only drop the price of oil by pennies - in 10 YEARS!

So Debbie, what makes your Democratic candidate (and his running mate) any different? Obama, and Biden, are far from suffering and their lives completely out of touch with middle America as well. I would much prefer a President that has served his country and payed the ultimate sacrifice. I guess being a tortured POW doesn’t count in your book!
Democrats are the ones that are “out of touch”. They have destroyed our country with their liberal lifestyles and will continue our demise with their “love your neighbor terrorist” approach to foreign policy.
And Debbie, I’d be ashamed to be at your age and admit that I had not grown up and out of my childish liberal ways.
FYI, we Republicans have it pretty easy because we are highly educated (even though we had liberal professors) and financially intelligent. Working hard for what you get instead of relying on the government does have it’s rewards.

Oh dear dear Conservative - how sad to be you! To consider seeing a better tomorrow and wanting change for our country as “childish” is so very sad.
As far as having a POW as the leader of our country … well it would depend on what else that POW has done with his or her life. A person with a 9th grade education and a GED can join the army, be captured and live as a POW until released. Do I consider this patriotic, heroic and a tribute to our country? Yes. Do I consider it a ‘shoe in’ for President? Absolutely Not!
Sorry, but I’ll take the person who is looking for change and has a proven track record in his own state, rather than the one who married rich and thinks he ‘deserves’ this job because he was a POW.
Oh, by the way, it’s funny how you call me ‘childish’ , yet admit you were educated by fellow liberals!

What a joke! Biden can’t seem to get the truth about things he talks about. How could he possibly lead this country with that kind of factual history? Why should anyone believe anything he says when he has a history of telling lies.
Let’s bring up a few unbelieveable lies. How about the one, recently made again in 2007, about his deceased wife’s car accident. Didn’t he say, that apparently the truck driver decided to drink his lunch rather than eat it? When in fact, the truck driver that broadsided his wife’s car after a possible mistake on his wifes part was cleared of any wrong doing. The truck driver died in 1999 and isn’t even here to defend himself, but his family has been tormented by the fact that Biden continues to lie about what happened. The car accident his wife died in turned out, apparently, to be her mistake and not the truck driver’s. How irresponsible is it for Biden to embelish a situation that isn’t even needed to be embelished and to place mischaracterization on a family that doesn’t deserve that kind of behavior, especially of someone who is running for VP of the USA.
Let’s don’t even get into the plagarism and where he claimed to be one of the top grade students in his class, when he was infact one of the lowest graded students (I think 80th out of 85).
I don’t want this kind of individual in Senate, much less our VP. Wake up people, this all has to be considered when judging the next Prez & VP. If Obama chose this kind of individual, image the other bad decisions he would be making while in office.

Terrible choice that becomes worse with time! Why did he not understand the political climate and pick either a congressman from Ohio, Pennsylvania (since he is in danger of losing this traditional democratic bastion), Florida or even Minnesota. Or better yet, simply pick Hilary to get that massive following of hers.
Biden from Delaware…a state that is as surely Democratic as they get and from the democratic elite (meaning snobs) that Obama already represented. What of the blue collar democrats? what of the women democrats, or better yet…what of white, male democrats with lots of education like me that is conservative on the abortion issue but democratic on environmental and tax issues.
The pick for Palin very likely cost Obama the election. She will get many crossovers that should have be Obama’s. This VP pick could go down as one of the greatest political blunders ever. Equalling or surpassing the mistakes made by Kerry, and Dukakis. On a year you would expect Democrats to win with a 350+ electoral vote count to below 100…Obama has mismanaged his campaign enough to actually lose a for sure thing. Ludicrous!

People, just think for a second here. First of all, I don’t support Obama on any his ideas. In his defense, he is a great speaker, but speaks of nothing. He talks about change, but has changed nothing to benefit this great country we live in. His biggest mistake was selecting a VP nominee who only got 9,000 votes while running for president compared to another candidate who received 18,000,000. That’s 2000 times more than Obama’s selection for VP. Just a little common sense will tell you that wasn’t a good choice.

In interest of full disclosure, I DONT vote for democrats PERIOD!, but to be THE agent of change and things will be all fresh and new, to agree with Rove, this ‘blowhard dufus’is anything but!!!!, it actually solidified my opionion that Obama is an empty suit, propelled to run for the President of the US, much like certain songs are pushed at a radio station, me thinks his ego is much too big. I wish someone would answer ONE question for me, how in anyone’s estimation does he have anything close to the experience of Sarah Palin?, Biden IS good ole boy Washington through and through, since 1973, no matter how many times he rides the Amtrak to his Delaware banking buddies front door, what a joke, they are going to lose and LOSE big and Hillary is laughing all the way to the 2012 run again, not that she will be any more successful, all the noise you hear about Clinton this and Clinton that is the hordes of poodles they have ammassed while they disgraced the White House for 8 years, they are tired, tired, tired, DID I say TIRED????

The Democrats have lost another opportunity to repair the damage from the last eight years. All four of these individuals should never have been considered for President, nor VP. Biden is perceived as being too weak and should never have been considered, but he is far more Presidential than that token jester that has stirred the sheeple into a frenzy. McShrub has chosen an appeaser for the masses and Kool-Aid drinkers of the other extreme. The republicons (sic) have shown themselves to be corrupt, incompetent, liars that do not represent the public at large; in fact, it is unclear what they care about beyond their own greed and power. To have bonzo, jr., dead-eye dick, dumbsfeld, rove-blossom, and the rest of that clown-fest in charge is more than this country should have had to endure. The Democrats continue to overlook the only men (that run for office) that can do the job, so they vote for the shiniest egotist in the box. Hopefully, Palin’s baggage will get her kicked-off the ticket and someone more competent will take the reins in four years, she’s a scandal-explosion waiting to happen. McSaim picked a lying, religious extremist in Palin, who changes her opinions and her political history more than McCain does about himself. Also, Remember iraq (sic) where U.S. citizens have died (for what? al cai-duh(sic) wasn’t there): Deaths Since war began (3/19/03): total: 4155, in combat: 3376; Since “Mission Accomplished” (5/1/03) total: 4016, in combat: 3268; Since Capture of Saddam (12/13/03) total: 3694, in combat: 3070; Since Handover (6/29/04) total: 3296, in combat: 2743; Since Election (1/31/05) total: 2718, in combat: 2480. Remember how many hundreds of billions of dollars we’ve wasted there. Remember how many hundreds of billions of dollars we owe the Chinese since bonzo jr. took over. Remember the lack of a policy for getting the U.S. to use renewable energy. Remember the innumerable republicon politicians that were caught lying, cheating, or otherwise being hypocritical (it doesn’t just stop at “junior” & “dead-eye”, “rummy” & “fredo”, there’s hastert, ted “bridge-to-no-where” stevens, delay, foley, and katherine “two-guns” harris, et. al.). The republicants count on the voters forgetting that they were in charge during 9/11. Now we are going from an embarrassing buffoon to a seemingly addled senator —- the republicon Dark Ages continue. I don’t agree with everything that Bob Barr and Ron Paul stand for, and as an Independent I’ve voted for Rep.s and Dem.s, but I’d never vote for McShrub, and I sure as hell won’t consider that other insult to this country. How can voters be so gullible? So blind? So stupid?

Biden is better than Palin. With Biden if I get rape I know I won’t get billed for the rape kit.BREAKING: Palin Charged Rape Victims For Their Rape Kits??!! September 8, 2008 by Suzie-Q

Female George Bush Gets A Lot Creepier Monday, September 8, 2008
Posted by DA at 4:01 PM
Now that the press is digging up dirt on the Female George Bush from Alaska, she’s actually looking like one of the worst human beings, ever. When she was mayor of Wasilla, she had the police department billing rape victims for their rape kits.
Not really in touch with her feminine side, I guess.
The Frontiersman / May 23, 2000
ANCHORAGE - Gov. Tony Knowles recently signed legislation protecting victims of sexual assault from being billed for tests to collect evidence of the crime, but one local police chief said the new law will further burden taxpayers.
While the Alaska State Troopers and most municipal police agencies have covered the cost of exams, which cost between $300 to $1,200 apiece, the Wasilla police department does charge the victims of sexual assault for the tests.
Wasilla Police Chief Charlie Fannon does not agree with the new legislation, saying the law will require the city and communities to come up with more funds to cover the costs of the forensic exams.
According to Fannon, the new law will cost the Wasilla Police Department approximately $5,000 to $14,000 a year to collect evidence for sexual assault cases.

Yes, for the Dems and the election, I feel Biden was a mistake. But then again, Obama was probably a mistake. None of them would get my vote, including the stronger candidate, Mrs. Clinton. Obama’s first decision as candidate…..a mistake. Wow, makes me believe in him. Fact is, Obama’s pick? A running mate. McCain’s pick? A checkmate.

If Biden was such a great pick, why then does he say that Hillary would have been a better VP? And by the way…If both of Obama’s hands were broken multiple times (prior to the internet)in a POW camp, then maybe he could not type as well - which is usually a necessity to the “internet”.

Obama and Biden sounds great.
I must really, really be missing something for anybody’d vote for more of the same w/ McCain. ‘specially since there’s like a 30% statistical chance of his death before the expiration of a 4-year office, then we have a commoner in the white house who can’t think for herself, is a liar, adlebrained…..

Both of the democratic candidates are duds. If you can look past the color of Obama’s skin, listen to every thing he says. It is a bunch of phony rhetoric. Biden has no faith in Obama as well. We would have been better off with another Clinton. Anyway, I will now vote Republican.

I think he is a strong choice. A veteran in Washington. He is a great compliment to the ticket….. I know Obama and Biden will win this campaign and I feel lucky that we will finally get some CHANGE we need and deserve. God bless Barack for his strength and determiniation to overcome so much. He is a true example of a Great Leader in this time of crisis.

WHY YOU SHOULD VOTE FOR JOHN McCAIN…??? …Because [I’m assuming], you are filthy rich or extremely wealthy, RIGHT? Being among the very wealthy, might be the only reason to justify a vote for John McCain. Only the rich are allowed in his ‘Old Boys [Pyramid] Club.’ The folk – the “wannabe” rich – the ‘Lifer Republicans, all may be part of the GOP – “GRAND OLD PARTY”, but you won’t ever really be accepted by the GOB “GOOD OLD BOYS” PARTY. You’ll always be at the bottom [on the same level as the hired help] the lower-level ‘Republican Party folk’ who help [sometimes unknowingly] keep the pyramid “scheme” alive.
Either way you will never be in their “league.” They need you to keep the pyramid growing, like the slaves of old – the desert people in Bible stories – who had to actually build these pyramids. They too, could never be in the “ruling class” either – with the Kings and Queens. Today’s filthy rich, must also keep the scam going, while keeping you safely outside the fray.
Also, the filthy rich Republican-run press; the newspapers; TV and radio stations, are in on the pyramid scheme too. The Limbaugh’s, O’Reilly’s and Hannity’s want to STAY rich – with your help, of course. That’s why they must show their support for McCain, by spewing the hate-speak, day in and day out.
Brainwashing always seems to be the ruling class’s choice of control. Some of the ruling class may even be [or think] like the Democratic; Independent; or Libertarian Party, but they too want to STAY rich, and they too must make sure you keep building that pyramid. Surely you must know that the ‘bad guys’ are working in concert? Remember: they – the filthy rich, are McCain’s ‘base’ – not you.
Don’t be so naïve to think that these highly educated people don’t know how inept the McCain/Palin ticket is. They’re not stupid, and only hope that you are. That’s why they’re so successful/so rich! Ever notice how they try to dumb-you-down and go through such pains to mispronounce the word: nuclear, by saying: nucular. It’s so hard for them to do! As hard as it is to have “a beer with you.” Remember that thing they thought you’d want to do with George Bush. Good luck with that!
As for Sarah Palin, said to be merely a prop – you know you would never want her for your President – not with our horrible economy. Talk about ‘on the job training.’ She would have to ‘rehearse’ every decision for weeks, [like she did before her debate with Joe Biden].
Trust me! — The filthy rich, would never allow Sarah Palin to run this country [a mere underling]. They would have some ‘shadow government’ to stand-in and run the office for her, asking her to not worry ‘her pretty little head’ about it. She wouldn’t mind continuing her ‘Stepford Wife’ role. Being a “Peon” [Power-Essentially-On-a Nameplate].
For whatever reason you feel ‘compelled’ to vote for John McCain, instead of Barack Obama, ask yourself the following:
Would you be able to live through another Great Depression, or would this be your first one? For those of you who don’t know, the Great Depression was a time when people lost their farms and lived on the land outside of the farm – in tents! Have you prepared your family for that possibility?
After the Depression, came Social Security. Do you really want you or your heirs to have Social Security privatized, or should it be kept running as solidly as it is now, and has been for years? John McCain’s in favor of privatization.
Have you seen firsthand, anyone or any business – small or large – who’s suffering under this current style of government, although you yourself are doing fine? [for now] How would you feel if any of those businesses were to close because of this recession (businesses like: your favorite family restaurant; bar; neighborhood store; or shopping mall)? If they can’t survive, what makes you think the hard times couldn’t “trickle down” to you*?
By voting for Obama, are you afraid of being called “N-Lover” – though God loves us all. Would you call Him [God] that same name too? If for you, race is the issue, think again. After all, it was Obama’s white grandparent’s that essentially raised him. For a child with no father, it seems they did a pretty respectable job. Doesn’t that account for something?
Is all this hate-speak about Obama helping anything, or are they just trying to distract you from the tough times ahead?* How about the recent backing down from the hate-speak by McCain against Obama? It’s said that some were concerned that McCain and Palin were inciting violence? Viewers who watched McCain’s campaign rallys, even complained to the Secret Service about this kind of talk, and how far they were going with it. Words like: “terrorist” “traitor” or “kill him!” could draw attention to those who were chanting this hatred – some who were even proven to be “plants” [surprise!], and guess what: THEY’RE BACK! “Has it ever occurred to these people that if anyone tried to harm Obama or Biden, they could be putting a Secret Service Agent’s life at risk, also”!
Have you stopped to think about the meaning of the words ‘traitor and terrorist?’ Was John McCain a traitor when he “folded under pressure”, while he was being interrogated as a P.O.W., and spilled his guts? Did you know his homecoming wasn’t as welcome because of it?
Knowing what he must have gone through during Vietnam, aren’t you just a little afraid of the reality of a John McCain President? Leaving us in a so-called war for 100+ years. Just to keep his rich ‘base’ richer, the poor, poorer and the young dying needlessly.
You can choose to be Prejudice and Poor or have the chance to survive and change Mankind’s Madness? Speaking of madness, John McCain was in a box [of sorts] for five years, as a prisoner of war. Being at times in Solitary Confinement apparently took its toll. Senator McCain is on 100% disability – physically and mentally, with money supplied – and that he doesn’t mind taking – by [so called] BIG government.
Is Barack Obama what you’d really call a terrorist? Almost every film I’ve ever seen about terrorists, have men with guns strapped on their shoulders. Yet do you really believe Obama wants to take away your guns? [your right to bear arms – please!] Do you really believe that? TERRORISTS LOVE ARMS! wake up and smell the coffee! This is just another untruth in their pyramid scheme! IF OBAMA WAS WHAT YOU SAY – A TERRORIST WITH TERRORIST FRIENDS! HE IS BLACK – HE WOULD HAVE BEEN ARRESTED!! NOT IN THE PROTECTION OF THE SECRET SERVICE – JESUS!
Mr. Obama is concerned. He has a plan to save us from this economic disaster, without using the distractions and the hate-speak. What Palin and McCain are doing, is shameful and deserves no justification.
Although I can’t say I’ve changed any minds, I also can’t say that I haven’t. *Only don’t get a false sense of security too soon…Remember the rich ruling class is only going to allow you just so much – always keeping you at bay…Their allegiance is not to US!
P.S. TALK ABOUT GUILT BY ASSOCIATION: John McCain just picked a former lobbyist for Sadam Hussein to head his Transition Team – LOOK IT UP! DO SOME RESEARCH.

If you believe in God there no way you can vote for them. We need the people of America to put some thought in this election and pray. Don’t let the news people and hollywood people tell you how to vote. Please look at the track records and what they have done for our country. Remember what his wife said, I’m finally glad to be American. Really I could go on and on why he should not be our leader. Drill baby drill.

all i’ve heard all my life is ‘don’t judge someone by the color of their skin, but by their charater’ —-and if you ask people why are you voting for obama - it’s because he’s black — i’m sick of the double standards and besides he’s only HALF black - and he scares the hell out of me….
