Delta goodies?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Delta is asking frequent fliers what perks they’d like to see returned to long-haul flights: an amenity kit, hand wipes, a game pad or pillows. It’s also asking what kind of food they’d want if it restored food-for-sale on cross-country flights. Would things like this do it for you? If not, what items or services do you think Delta should restore?

The last time I flew Delta was first class to Hawaii. They served a turkey wrap and chips! That was the last time this 2.2 Million Miler will ever fly Delta.
A decade ago Delta was the icon of airline customer service - numero uno. It’s been so long since Delta had ANY customer service, they don’t even know what it looks like. Now they are asking ff’s what good customer service is. They’ve definitely lost their game.
I suggest they go back to the Dave Garrett archives and dust-off his customer service policy manual. Better yet, just call Hollis Harris or Whit Hawkins and ask them how they would treat their customers. Even better, make Harris or Hawkins co-CEOs. Just don’t ask that sourpuss Leo “no waiver, no favor” Mullins who finished the disaster that Ron Allen started.

Its to bad Delta is DOA today with their customer base. There used to be people at Delta who cared but no longer. A Board that was asleep and woke up just long enough to give Ron Allen and those who followed him a yes vote to whatever crazy idea that came up has done the Company in. to bad, there was a lot of good people in the Company who are now gone, however that great management Team starting with Allen made sure they took care of themselves on the way out the door. I could care less if they serve food or not, I don’t fly them unless I have to

It may have been a coincidence, but when the FF program was dramatically changed a 2 or 3 years ago the customer service also plummetted. After the program changes I went from 99% loyalty to indifference. I’m not an economics whiz, but I think Delta should increase fares enough to cover costs (maybe even a small profit). When employees continues to experience pay cuts their morale will reflect the same low level of customer service. I know, I know —- all of the bloated airlines would have to raise fares, but instead they keep fighting a bloody battle to the death. And the taxpayers will keep bailing them out until a winner is declared.

I could care less about this nappy pillows in the hospital wrap! And the hand wipes at the end of the flight? How about hand wipes after being in the nasty lavatories??

Screw the pillows! How about giving the flight attendants a raise after all the cuts they took… And for those of you that will respond to this with something like, flight attendants already get paid too much for a part-time job, plaese don’t unless you do your homework first. Most of your are just clueless.

It’s a little too late for this 2.5 million miler that Delta is now making nice-nice. I now look for other airlines to fly on Delta routes. BTW - how long has it been since anyone out there actually got a frequent flier seat on a fligt they wanted? Delta equals Eastern…

My dad was a captain for the late, great Eastern Airlines. I remember back in the 70’s and 80’s the old Wings of Man (how many of you remember that motto?) had a lot of things included in the airfare (even in coach) that Delta doesn’t offer now, period-things like pillows, blankets, a decent meal, etc. The skies were just short of luxurious back then. Things are just not the same any more. The last time I flew Delta was in 1998. When I boarded the plane I was handed a paper bag with a stale bagel, yogurt, and orange juice. I’d call it “Purina Passenger Chow” except I think Purina would do a better job. Now I pretty much always fly Airtran. At least with them I’m not paying for the amenities I’m not getting!
