Who is your favorite Atlanta Brave?

We have our winners.

Readers didn’t seem to have too much trouble choosing their five favorite Braves. The five you nominated were far and away the favorites. The voting was pretty close, though, with Chipper Jones emerging as your favorite Brave. See the list of your picks for the Top 5 Braves.

The AJC’s resident Braves expert David O’Brien came up with a very similar list, with a couple of exceptions. Homerun hero Hank Aaron tops his list, and he added one player that didn’t make the readers’ Top 5. Check out our picks for the Top 5 favorite Braves.

How about my least favorite Brave? Wow — Chipper Jones is hurt again. What is it this time — a hangnail? deep eyelash contusion? can’t get the part in his hair straight? What a WUSSY! It’s time to get rid of him and find a real leader for this team. The guy makes $15 million/year and is about as tough as a 9-year-old little girl.

My favorite Brave is without a doubt Mr. Larry Wayne Jones Jr. Most of you know him as Chipper. I have followed Chipper’s career as a tomahawker for years. I hear of all his great deeds to society and have even more respect for him from that. You are the best Chipper. God Bless you! You are a true American.

Three-way tie for a defining “Mr. Atlanta Brave.” Hank Aaron, Dale Murphy, and Chipper Jones.

When considering pitchers, you would have to include Bob Gibson, Phil Neikro, and Tom Glavin.
