Angela Bassett Coming to Atlanta
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Actress Angela Bassett will be in Atlanta July 21 during the National Black Arts Festival for a retrospective of her work and a conversation with author and playwright Pearl Cleage. The event will take place at the Woodruff Arts Center’s Rich Theatre from 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Tickets are available here.
Bassett’s many film and TV roles include “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” for which she earned a Golden Globe Award for best actress in a drama for her intense portrayal of Tina Turner. (Pictured above.) She stars in Tyler Perry’s latest movie, “Meet the Browns,” which opens March 21.

I have so much respect for Angela. Throughout her career she has played powerful, meaningful roles vs just accepting any role with a paycheck attached (anybody recall Halle in her menial, disgusting role in Monster’s Ball?…big paycheck, terrible role). I would choose Angela over ‘academy award winner’ Halle Berry whom I do not admire as an actresss (pretty face, no skills!). Angela is awesome and one of my all time favorite actresses along with Alfre Woodard.

That`s the problem with society now. People who are UNHAPPY with their own lives find it IMPOSSIBLE to support and BE HAPPY for others who are working hard everyday. B rated movies???? Please inform me of the B rated movies that Angela Bassett has played in. I live in Japan and I have seen ALL of her movies while living here.
Please get a life and learn to be happy for successful people!! Support and love others and you will find love in your own life…..peace, LaFae
