Spivey Hall’s Next Season
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Some concerts to look forward to: Pianist Murray Perahia (above), violinist Hilary Hahn, guitarist John Williams, mezzo-soprano Magdalena Kozena, organist Dame Gillian Weir, and the Kenny Barron Trio are among the artists who will play Spivey Hall during the 2008-2009 season. Chanticleer returns with two programs at the jewel-box concert hall at Clayton State University, south of Atlanta.
Making their Spivey Hall debuts will be pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet, violinist Julia Fischer, the Belcea and Tetzlaff string quartets, and tenor Lawrence Brownlee, among others.
The Spivey Hall 2009 Spring Bach Festival opens in March with the complete Brandenburg Concertos performed by London’s renowned Academy of Ancient Music.
Individual tickets don’t go on sale until August, but subscriptions are available from the Spivey box office starting this week.
