Where’s the ASO Review?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The nasty bug that’s sweeping the continent caught up with me. If I’d have gone to Symphony Hall tonight my coughs would have easily drowned out the ASO brass section. So at a late hour, with no one else ready to review at a moment’s notice, I decided to stay home. I’ll attend the concert Friday evening and have the review online right here sometime after the concert, and then hopefully in Monday’s newspaper.
Friday concerts are often better polished than opening-night Thursdays, so I’ll likely be hearing them at their best. Have an opinion? Share it here.

Pierre, Sorry to hear you’re sick and hope you get to feeling better soon.
You can take another night off as the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Orchestra & Chorus are not scheduled to perform Friday evening, alas.
Tne Corigliano/Adams/Barber/Beethoven program tonight was very beautiful and moving, if I do say so myself as an ASOC member.
The final performance will occur Saturday evening (2/9) at 8:00 pm.
The Barber and Adams works are scheduled for recording by Telarc on Sunday. Preparing a work for recording usually results in finer performances in the concert setting.
Hope to see you at the concert hale and hardy.

The concert Saturday night was terrific. The Adams piece was incredibly moving for me as a native New Yorker.
