My How You’ve Changed, Atlanta

Call it the city scrapbook.

A friend turned me on to this great site. Greg Germani, that hardy soul, has gone through the Pullen Archives at Georgia State University among others, taken the vintage photos of our fair city and paired each with photos of the place as it looks today.

The site includes homes— maybe even yours — commercial buildings, shopping centers, thoroughfares. Given the enormous changes the city has been through, I was surprised at how much actually looked about the same. Some places even look better.

Anyway, it’s fascinating. And addictive.
