Rate The New Alan Jackson Single
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The fourth single from Alan Jackson’s “Good Time” CD, “Sissy’s Song” officially hits radio this week.
According to a press release, Newnan, Ga.’s own penned it after the sudden death of a woman who worked in the Jackson’s home.
“She was just a real sweet young woman,” he said. “The sudden death of someone so young who we saw every day was really hard on me and all of us. I didn’t sleep for a while. I just didn’t feel right. I sat down one day and wrote this song and after that I felt alright.”
Afterwards, Jackson went into the studio with Keith Stegall, the release says, recorded it with just guitar and vocals and gave it to the family for the funeral. “A lot of people told me how much it made them feel better and helped them get through it a little easier, so I was very proud of it.”
Jackson is currently enjoying his longest streak of No. 1 hits since 1995-1996, according to his publicist. He’s had three consecutive number ones from “Good Time” — “Small Town Southern Man,” the title track and his 25th #1 “Country Boy”.

“Sissy’s Song” is Alan’s next #1 single. When “Good Time’ came out, that song was one I couldn’t wait to be a single. As always, Alan’s music comes from his heart and that’s why it is and always will be special and always on top!
