Jennifer Hudson Coming To Atlanta

jennifer_hudson240.jpg

The first winner during the televised portion of last night’s Grammy Awards — Jennifer Hudson — is headed out on her first tour, and Atlanta’s on the itinerary.

People.com is reporting that the five-week outing with Robin Thicke will start April 2 in Philadelphia. The exact Atlanta date and venue were not included in the report.

The tour announcement comes as the Oscar winner slowly returns to the spotlight after her mother, brother and nephew were murdered in October of last year.

Did you see Hudson at her intimate V-103 “Soul Session” at Sugar Hill last year? What did you think of her performance last night? (See a YouTube clip BELOW) Think her self-titled CD deserved best R&B album?

I love JHUD’s performance last night and I think she looked amazing. That song is one of my fav’s on the album and I think she deserved the grammy… She didn’t get a chance to promote her album, but I bought it the first week it came out and LOVE IT. Can’t wait to see what day she comes to Atlanta so I can buy my tickets.

First let me say. I really like Jennifer Hudson’t voice. In fact, I think she should have won AI the year that she was on instead of Fantasia. I sympathize with what happened to her family. I can’t imagine the pain

But……..

I think she sounded horrible at the Grammy’s. What in the world did she have on? She is getting sympathy instead of the truth on these radio stations. V-103 played her this morning from last night. What the heck???? I must also say doesn’t she know she is about to get in a Terry McMillan situation in marrying that obviously GAY guy. Come on.

AJ,

I cosign on that. She was having difficulties with the sound. I saw her take the earpiece out. In spite of that, she did a wonderful job. The song was soulful and you could since that it was completely heartfelt. Best permance of the evening.

Yes we were watching the same show. Notice…..I said I love JHud. I think she should have won AI the year she was on. She is a fabulous performer.

And yes it is just my opinion, she did not sound good last night on the Grammy’s. Sorry.

JHUD-looked great at the Grammy’s and she sounded wonderful considering the fact she was fighting back her emotions. I too agree that the dude she is about to marry is Gay, however I think that it could work for he has been in her corner helping her through the rough times. JHUD’s marriage could possibly turn out much better than Terry McMillan’s situation did as long as Jennifer gets a prenupe-I’m not hating, just being realistic by seeing through the cloud of BS.

Another ‘Full Figured” girl who SAID she was proud of her size selling out for the thin look……….. Where is the REAL Dreamgirl?

You cannot even recognize who she is on the cd cover. It is photoshopped TO DEATH.

When she started on AI she looked like a beautiful plus size girl. Now I don’t know………..

To Ms Simon, stop trying to act like the real Simon and put the girl down when she obviously did a great job considering what she’s been through…I’ve buried my father and that was hell, but darn to bury 3 members I’m amazed that she is still standing and in her right mind. You wanted her to be flawless? No one performs flawless. And yes I did see her earpiece falling out…but anywho she did well and I loved BOTH dresses, the first one more than the other though… As for her man…yes I think he may be a little suspect. I told my boyfriend last night that I hope dude is legit and not playing her… And to the young lady, “Dreamgirl” that is talking about JHUD’s weight, I’m sure the stress caused her to lose weight. And she still is very healthy, you act like the girl is Paris Hilton thin… I wish people would stop saying it’s all sympathy. The girl is talent.. She won a Oscar in her first movie and Golden Globe… where was the sympathy then? Exactly… Don’t hate people…

To Ms. Simon:

I echo your sentiments to the T (i.e., pros - I like JHud, think she should have won AI, and sympathize with her…can’t imagine the pain and cons - I think she sounded horrible at the Grammy’s, don’t understand what she had on, think she is getting sympathy instead of truth on radio for her L-O-V-E song but don’t blame her because other use their bodies, names, etc.; and think she is getting into a Terry McMillan situation in marrying that obviously GAY guy. I’ll take it a step further and say the marriage will be a bad hybrid of McMillan and Houston’s (marrying a guy who is trying to take advantage of your cel, fame, and money) situation. Not to say that they are the same but I bet Bobby was there for Whitney when her father died. I’ll just continue to pray for her and hope she gets a better prenup than Brittney. KFed still took her to the cleaner’s.

Sorry ladies, but being plus size and/or full figured isn’t particularly healthy. Kudos to her for making whatever lifestyle decision she’s made to become more fit and healthy. Black Americans (I’m black)are already at high risk for a number of diseases that are often exacerbated by being overweight. It’s not about being thin, it’s about being healthy and 5’6, 180lbs+ just isn’t healthy.

Vocally, she’s amazing and based on the other nominees…she was as deserving as anybody else.

1st I’m going to say Jennifer was great, even with the earpiece issue. Now to the weight, should have known somebody was going to have something to say. I was waiting and you didn’t disappoint me. Jennifer lost her mother, brother, and nephew!!! I probably would have lost the weight, too. IT’S CALLED STRESS!!! I really don’t think she lost it on purpose. Love you, Jennifer continue doing YOU!!!

I want to reply to the hatters.First What gives you the right to call her Man gay?have you seen him with another man in the making?Just because a person looks cut and clean do not mean they are gay.Lay off her, let her grieve which she is still going through. How would you handle this if it was your family members especially her best friend Mom.Her size is just fine. Her clothing last night was fit to her figure. What kind of life do you have?

I loved the song, because I have the album and I was familiar with it. However I wondered if something was going on with the acoustics at the Grammy’s because it seemed as if every artist sounded bad too me. Jennifer is a wonderful artist and you have to give her credit with all that she has been through in the last few months. I knew that the fiance was/is GAY!! He looks like it!! I feel sooooo bad for her, because it seems as if full figured women, because of self esteem issues, end up marying Blatantly Gay Men. It also seems that fat women are willing to pay the ultimate sacrifice just to have a man. A real man does not arch his eye brows or wear lipstick!!!

T0 1growngirl.You must have just stepped out of the pruberty stage. What are you talking about? You apperantly do not watch enough tv or pass by the beauty salons.Today it is filled with MEN(not gay)having there arms waxed, eyebrow arching, pedicures, manicures and facials and lets not forget they do wear lip balm. All women want a man(weather there are plus size of super thin). What are your deminsions? And for looks,I have always wondered what a gay man or gay female really look like?I guess folks with comments like yours are picture perfect.Give the girl a break. I am sure she will not be calling on you for an opinion about her man. What ever happen to GOD do change things! You need to study this. I am sure there are things in your life you need a change in especially being opinionated.

I don’t understand why people are so determined to attack her and her relationship. Imagine someone scrutinizing your lives so intensely. Until there is concrete evidence of some form of gay activity, leave the guy alone. I think Jennifer is beautiful and is not settling because of her size, no one looks like those skinny women in real life anyway ( they are the exception, not the rule), and we women know that. I would just hope that people would have the decency to allow her longer than 4 months to grieve before hating on her and attacking her and her relationship. I just think she is stronger than I ever could imagine.

Take some time to do something nice for someone else with your day.

Are you all kidding me? Yes she lost her family members. I can only imagine the stress.

But…..come on. Will you all go back and pull up some of her AI pics. She was extremely large and beautiful.

She’s made some money and made some “adjustments” to her body along with all this airbrushing nonsense.

And yes, I say that guy she’s talking about marrying is gay. No I don’t know him Stop ignoring the obvious people. I do you one better. Ask some of your male gay friends what they think about him. THEY WILL TELL YOU THE TRUTH.

I was saw Jennifer Hudson perform last year at Soul Session and she completely won me over. Up until that point I was a Jennifer Hudson fan, I enjoyed her work but I wasn’t really connected to her. However, after seeing her perform that night I knew I would be a fan for life. I immediately bought the album and I haven’t stopped listening to it.

To all you insensitive HATERS! Anyone would lose weight after what JHUD has been thru. And the girl has a set of vocal pipes that are fantastic. Just admit , Jennifer can SANG….Not just sing. You haters obviously don’t have an ear for music. People like you are just jealous of her success. What have any of you who’s complaining done that even remotely compares to how far she has come?? As for her husband to be, yeah he is somewhat suspect. I hope she reconsiders marrying him. If he was following behind that low life Ms NY, then that should’ve said sometime about his morals. He’s just after the $$$$.

*amn - I wonder if we will ever just be able to have something good to say without the negative issue. I thought she sounded decent - not her best. As for her weight I wonder if Ms Simon / Dreamgirl would go through the same thing and three months later be the exact same size. In addition being overweight isn’t good for ANYONE - self included. Jennifer looks good, sounds good and is good. Shut up and find something productive to do. If her man is gay that’s their business. DANG we are so great at always tearing each other down.
