Rate New Young Jeezy Video
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Over the long weekend leading up to today’s historic inauguration, Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy (pictured above, far right, with Congressman John Lewis, record label power Kevin Liles and fellow local hip-hop superstar T.I.) unveiled the video for his new song “My President,” from the multimillion-seller’s latest CD “The Recession”.
He talked with the AJC just before he made it. The AJC was on site at Ebenezer Baptist Church when he shot it. (See our behind-the-scenes VIDEO HERE ). And as he gave the exclusive to ABC’s “World News” webcast, he discussed it with correspondent Viviana Hurtado.
Whew. OK, drumroll please…see a YouTube clip of the “My President” video - featuring part-time Atlantan Nas — BELOW and tell us what you think:

Cue racist comment from a white guy followed by unnecessary overreactions from 8 or 9 black people in 3, 2, 1…

Well since they took the video down from Youtube I can’t comment on it. However, I will say there is no way it is better than this one….

Suprise Suprise, all of a sudden we have a “mixed race” president (which I guess somehow makes him black)and Young Jeezy and T.I. care about politics. I don’t even think either one is eligible to vote.

I click the link to this column often to see what’s happening in Atlanta. I know for a fact there is world class jazz and blues going on as well as rock and country and the symphony. I have never once seen a reference to anything but urban styles. The column should be renamed to accurately represent the genre reviewed and promoted. This sentiment has been expressed many times in the comments, yet ignored by the editorial staff. Try to be more inclusive of other genre when you publish a “music scene” column.
