Butch Walker’s “Homecoming” Set For March

In what has to have to have been one of the more personal tour announcement press releases, Atlanta’s rocking singer, songwriter and producer Butch Walker revealed that he will be back home March 25 at the Variety Playhouse.
And yes, just in case you were wondering, while the one-time Marvelous 3 frontman does have a home on the west coast, he e-mailed Peach Buzz last July to say he is not an “ex-Atlantan”.
“Atlanta is very much home,” Walker maintained. “My reason for living [in California] half the year is no different than any job transfer because I make a good living out there. And the change of scenery makes me miss Atlanta more when I come back to it.”
But back to the announcement about him hitting the road to promote new CD “Sycamore Meadows,” which began, “From Butch with love…”:
Spring ‘09 is seeming quite fine Here we go kids! I’m so excited to be hitting the road again! The weather is gonna be slowly creeping towards beautiful, the sounds out of the speakers will be fun and flowery, and the band will be looking sharp. This is gonna be a good one! I know, I know…The economy sucks. The American dollar sucks… Well, we will have to change that. The tickets will be affordable (not like I’m worth any less y’all), the new merch will as well, and I promise that I’m picking up the tab for the drinks (maybe). So don’t be afraid to spend your weekly paycheck on a gala night of beautiful music and wonderful support acts. The support this time around is gonna be sweet. Not telling who all yet. Gonna have to have a few surprises left in life, right? Left? Right? Aren’t I “witty”… Here’s the dates for ya (and the age req)

Thanks also to anyone who has bought or picked up the new record “Sycamore Meadows” that I put out this past year. The feedback has been touching and I really am a proud papa to this pet record. The shows will no doubt have a lot of songs from it, as well as some of my greatest non-hits from the yesteryear. Let’s do this!
