Hi All-

Doria here…

As many of you know, I’ve been doing a residency called “Soul Food Fridays” at Calavino’s restaurant for the past two months since touring has become too expensive. It’s been going so well that Calavino has decided to change her concept. Unfortunately, it may be too little too late.

Instead of raising prices like so many small businesses have had to do, she chose to lower her prices to accommodate the neighborhood’s needs in this economy. And while everyone has been grateful for the option of healthy, organic, affordable, homecooked food, the restaurant is in trouble and needs the community’s help to both convert and stay open.

The restaurant will close permanently on December 21 if necessary operating funds are not raised.

Because she gave me a place to work while I’ve been off the road avoiding high gas prices and because I truly believe in her and her work, I’m offering to the cause the following:

A free signed “Woman Dangerous” CD with donations of $50 or more.

A free t-shirt and a signed CD (or 2 signed CDs) with donations of $100 or more.

For $1,000 or more you get a house concert (with me) and cooked on site catering (by Chef Calavino) in your home for 20 people.

NOTE: Restrictions apply so please contact me first before donating. *You must be located within 20 miles of Atlanta or Decatur. *There can only be 20 people max. *The event needs to happen before Dec. 21 but not on Dec 12, 15, 19 or 21. *You must have a full kitchen.

Of course, any donation in any amount is appreciated.
