T.I. And Keyshia Cole Get Out The Vote Today

Atlanta rapper T.I. (above with Ludacris facing him) and local R&B singer Keyshia Cole are scheduled to be in Philadelphia today, where they will join hip-hop mogul Jay-Z on the “Respect My Vote! Get Out The Vote” bus tour stops.

The initiative is an effort of the Hip-Hop Caucus and the Hip-Hop Summit Action Network to get first-time voters, in particular, to the polls for the Nov. 4 election. The bus tour includes concerts and campuses across the country, with fellow Atlantan T-Pain, Busta Rhymes and Angela and Vanessa Simmons appearing at some of the events as well.

Today’s event starts at 3:30 at the Wachovia Center in Philadelphia.

Have you attended such an event because a celebrity was there? And since this is the morning after, and millions have surely seen it now, what do you think of the BET Hip-Hop Awards taking such a political tone?

O.K. now it’s bad when you use a convicted felon who can’t vote to get the so-called vote message out. These first time voters will hear a distorted one sided campaign for a man we only know by speeches. Mind you that the things spoken within these speeches are not new to society nor is his blind intentions to do what has been done in the past. Cling to the black vote with hopes of the presidency and when Mr. man get in office forget the black vote that supported him. The fascination of have a black man as president has overwhelmed and blurred our vision to the point of no return. I know many who read this will say I’m a sell out or whatever & that’s fine I’m not easy to offend but when it comes to truth I embrace it and respect it.

What?!?!?!

OBAMA 2008!

Know a Leader by his ACTIONS, aka Community Organizer!, not words!

Know a Leader by his Plans and Agenda, aka stop the war and make healthcare affordable to all.

PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT IN GEORGIA, CONVICTED FELONS CAN VOTE…as long as they have completely served their sentences. That’s why notables like T.I. are being used to promote that message. Because of ignorance. T.I. can’t vote in this election because he is still serving his sentence.

Get your facts straight before you decide to rattle off misinformation to further your agenda.

Beyond that, I think it’s commendable for the hip-hop community to take an active interest in this year’s election. True, many are pro-Obama. But that’s not the point of these tours. The point is to remind people how important it is to vote!
