Ciara Is Billboard’s Woman of the Year
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Atlanta Grammy winner Ciara will be honored at Billboard’s third annual Women in Music breakfast Oct. 24 in New York.
Ciara will be given the Woman of the Year award, for “success as a recording artist and leadership in embracing the changing music business.”
Deborah Harry will also be honored at the event with the Icon award; and Colbie Caillat will receive the Rising Star award.
The ceremony will take place at the renowned St. Regis Hotel.
Ten months into 2008, who do you think is the music industry’s woman of the year? Ciara? Or has there not been a single woman that’s stood out, in such a way, in your opinion?

WOW WOW WOW Thats pretty much what Ithink of this. Are we at the point where everyone good female artist has recieved this award? Ciara, was good in the beginning, but I am in Atlanta, and she just is not all she is crcked up to be. She don’t come back to “home” to put back in. She acts as though she is a grand operating on a $5.oo stature. I just feel there had to be someonse better to get this award. She is snooty on top of everything else. My 11 year old use to love her. I expct my daughter to never think of any star as a role model, at the same time, if they (star) is going to do this, they should at least be humble, because they dint get this far, without the fans. SHE IS NOT DUE THIS CAUSE SHE HAVENT PAVED THE WAY NOR DO SHE APPRECIATE HOW SHE GOT THERE.

CIARA IS A BEAUTIFUL PERSON INSIDE AND OUTSIDE, SHE’S VERY GIVEN AND VERY TALETIVE AND ENTERTAINING EVERYONE KNOW HER AS BEING VERY HUMBLE AND CARING, I MET HER IN PERSON AND SHE WAS SO DOWN TO EARTH SHE SO DESERVES TO BE WOMEN OF THE YEAR.
