Janet Says “The Tour Is Still On”

050902_Janet_Jackson_Concer.JPG

As people finally stop whispering about why she was hospitalized recently (as she’s conceded it was vertigo) — and move on to the latest talk, about her reportedly splitting with longtime boyfriend Jermaine DupriJanet Jackson herself is telling her fans on a special phone line that “The tour is still on,” and she’ll be on stage tonight in Washington, D.C. .

If you dial 323-622-8139 — and press 1 as the message begins — there’s a greeting from Jackson where she says: “I know you guys have been hearing a lot, a lot of rumors - the tour has been canceled — none of that’s true…I’m actually rolling into D.C. right now to do my first show coming back. I feel a lot better…and it’s gonna feel good coming back…Don’t believe anything that you hear and you read.”

(Except, we guess, what you hear her say on this message).

Last night at Atlanta R&B superstar Usher’s private 30th birthday dinner, at The Mansion on Peachtree Hotel, V-103’s Miss Sophia said Dupri confirmed that Jackson will resume her “Rock Witchu” tour this evening at the Verizon Center.

But the entertainment reporter on “The Frank and Wanda Morning Show” chose not to ask about reports on MediaTakeout and EURweb of a breakup; and instead let Usher’s family (including his mother Jonnetta and visibly pregnant wife Tameka) and friends (Dupri, Monica, Bryan-Michael Cox) enjoy the celebration.

Planning to go to the show in Atlanta Sunday? Have friends that have seen her previous “Rock Witchu” date? And what about this talk that the part-time Atlantan was recovering in a local spa — happen to see her?

Glad to hear she’s doing well. I won’t be at the concert, but I’m sure it’ll be great. She is my all time favorite dancer. Just awesome!

Who really cares? The woman is pregnant that’s why she was hospitalized. Just another has been wanting to keep her name in the papers. I mean, who really cares? Obviously not too many, since I am the first poster and it’s 1:00 in the afternoon.

So there you go.

Hi Janet:

I am so glad to hear that you are touring. Life is up and down and people forget about you easily. It happened to me, now I trying to get back on top like you. Love always.

Madonna, Janet….. can’t these people just accept the fact that no one reads or watches yesterdays news. She has had her day and that day was years ago. I bet most of audience will skip paying an overdue bill to see her, if she shows up. She’s not that far removed from her whacko brother. Double yawn.

Janet, go do Vegas already. Make so ca$h. Your time has come and gone. Meanwhile, who knew R. Kelly went by the nick name Texas Pete?

I kind of think her music sounds like a symphony of farts.

Man, there are some tacky, tacky bloggers on here. A dance/pop/R&B legend was hospitalized, and all people can say is nasty things. Gimme a break, have any of you heard that the tour was going great up until her illness? She and Madonna probably still put on a better show than more than half of the wannabees out there.

Plus, I don’t care whether it’s been 8 eight years since she’s had a solid hit or not (it has been). She has enough hits from the past to still put on a fabulous show, and even the recent music that has not hit big is more quality than not.

You all need to lay off of Janet! She has accomplished so much and just continues to share her talents with the world. I wonder if you all can say the same about yourselves? Celebrities are human too and have real relationships and get ill just as you do, so don’t treat them like they’re superhuman as YOU get sick and have relationship problems in your life too! The only difference is no one gives a rat’s ass about your illnesses or relationships, and maybe that makes you feel worthless? WELL, it sure as hell doesn’t help to make ruthless comments about Janet just because the media provides us with information about her life. The information is not your cue to attack her! You call her a has been and yet if she met you, I’m sure you would be in awe of her presence, she would not insult you as you have insulted her and you would think twice before making stupid ass comments on here about Janet just because you know it’s not being said straight to her face, because you KNOW you would not have the guts to say it to her face. Seriously, what do negative comments achieve? Do they make you feel better about yourself? It doesn’t help matters or make a difference towards Janet’s career because she’s going to keep doing what she LOVES doing despite what idiots like you haters say or do to her. But for the fans who read these articles and read the comments, we are looking for positive comments because they are meaningful and worth reading. We do not like sifting and scanning through the negative comments to read the positive as I’m sure you wouldn’t if you were reading up on whatever lame person you are a fan of. SO DON’T READ THE ARTICLE AND DON’T COMMENT IF YOU JUST FEEL THE NEED TO SAY SOMETHING THOUGHTLESS AND OFFENSIVE!

Commenting is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. M-F
