Trans-Siberian Orchestra Coming To Atlanta
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

If yesterday’s 90-degree temperature didn’t quite say we’re on the back end of summer, then this just might do it: The Trans-Siberian Orchestra has booked a Nov. 16 date with Philips Arena.
Also known as “The Wizards of Winter,” TSO’s annual tour includes a string section, rock band, vocalists, a narrator, a laser show and — of course — a snowfall.
Tickets are $20 to $48.50 and go on sale Friday at www.livenation.com, the Philips Arena box office, www.ticketmaster.com or by phone at 404-249-6400.
Ever been to a TSO show? What musical happenings signal winter’s coming to you? Those Mannheim Steamroller commercials, perhaps?

Georgians At The CMA Music Festival
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
As many still smart over Sunday’s Britney Comeback(?) disguised as MTV Video’s Music Awards, Monday’s CMA Music Festival didn’t even pretend.
It was all performances all night (instead of sandwiching a meager 8 awards in between performances) and of course, we want your take on the talent with hometown connections.
Was that your first time seeing Lady Antebellum — which includes Augustans Charles Kelley (above) and Dave Haywood —play on such a major TV stage (ABC); and how do you think they came across?
Did it seem to you like Sugarland’s (above) “All I Want To Do” got a much less enthusiastic response than, say, Rascal Flatts doing “Bob Your Head”?
And what about Newnan’s own Alan Jackson’s (above) closing set?
(Oh yeah — and if you want to weigh in on, say, Faith Hill’s hair, how co-hosts Julianne Hough, Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift did, or just the overall package of an event filmed three months ago in Nashville, feel free).
