Ciara (Nude) and Ludacris On Newsstands
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Past the Atlanta-related quote on the front of this week’s Billboard from Kid Rock — “It was a good, old-fashioned fight at the [Buford Highway] Waffle House — no guns, no knives” — on page 22, there is the cover story on local rapper-actor-entrepreneur Ludacris.
In it, the Grammy winner born Christopher Bridges discusses his Oct. 21 album release “Theater of the The Mind”; his upcoming movie appearances in “Max Payne” and “RocknRolla”; his current “Battleground Earth” reality show with rocker Tommy Lee; his new Midtown restaurant Straits; his two new websites — WeMix.com and MyGhetto.com; and the restructuring of his Atlanta-based Disturbing Tha Peace record label.
Chances are though, this pretty much straightforward, industry article, won’t garner as much attention as fellow Atlantan Ciara’s cover story in Vibe.
Make that, the cover (above).
But inside the issue hitting stands this weekend she reportedly discusses her long-rumored relationship with 50 Cent; her split with Atlanta producer Jazze Pha; the pitfalls of fame (“People are gonna say what they wanna say…They said I was a man! It doesn’t get any worse than that”); the right way to date (“Take your time to get to know somebody before you involve the physical aspect…It’s just not the way to start off. It creates confusion. When you subtract those things, it allows you to focus more on who the person is”); and the new album (“You’re gonna get more attitude, more aggressiveness — everything is intensified…You get your sensual vibe. You’re gonna get the street. You’re gonna get the hood”).
Looking forward to the next Ludacris and Ciara albums? Surprised that the woman who once sung about keeping her “Goodies” in the jar, is now doing a cover like this?

The bottom line is that it is actually a good photo, to have nothing on, yet show nothing in this manner is actually pretty cool. I am not a Ciara fan, actually she can not sing, but a lot of artists now days can’t sing, and most are boarderline at best. So, with that said, there has to be a reason to keep the fire going,, and this is it. Lets face it,,, the photo got everyone here commenting on it, and publicity is publicity. there is something wrong with this photo the shoes are ugly she has nothing on her wrist or neck or anything to give you something else to look at. The photo was set up and designed for onlookers to look in one direction. The first thing you see is her under thigh. we all know what she looks like its not like she has changed her facial appearance.
So yeah there is something wrong with a picture when the main highlight is exposed under thigh and no draws.

We all know that the underlining thing is the this photo was to get people’s attention to you. The problem is that when you will do these types of action to get people to notice you, you get noticed for the wrong thing. I have done things in my lifetime when I was younger that I am still paying for twenty years later. For example, do you reember when Vannessa Williams made those pictures for Hugh Heffner’s magazine earlier in her life, do you think that she would have to lose something more valuable to her than she gained? Although I don’t agree with racy/nude fotos & no nothing about Ciara except her name, I do think it’s biased to be so negative about her, but not have an outcry over the numerous nude celebrities on the covers of Harper’s Baazar, Jane, Glamour, Vanity Fair, AARP & Forbes to name a few. And don’t forget the topless celebs, or the nude models in all the magazine advertisements.

I agree with the previous comment made about her picture just being a part of the industry. She’s not doing anything that others before her have not done. No, that doesn’t make it right, but she’s doing what she feels comfortable doing and obviously whats best for her career. Pictures like this tell a story, about how she’s coming into her own, growing up and proclaiming her woman hood. She’s comfortable in her skin. If you don’t like her music then that one thing, but most of these comments are based on who some think she is as a person. All the comments about her sexuality are totally out of line. Thats the problem we as women have, were so quick to judge from the outside looking in. I’m a bit disappointed by the photo but not surprised. It’s clear to me that women in the music industry must feel they have to resort to this whether it be via magazines, videos,posters, or whatever in order to sell records. I’m not bashing her as an artist but the pohoto is very tasteless. It has no class what so ever and is fit more for Playboy. I worked with Ciara’s mom, and when Jackie would bring her to work(Ciara was about 7 or 8 yrs old), Ciara would always hang out with me in my office. I liked her mom, and was crazy about Ciara. Little did I know Ciara would be the celebrity she is, and I’m proud of her. She reminds me of a younger Janet Jackson - neither can sing but are both great dancers. I like the photo, and the fact that nothing is showing. I feel it was done with taste, and it leaves much to the imagination. Hell, I’ve seen far worse walking the streets of Atlanta with ALL the goodies exposed.

This may not be what you would do in your life but you have not lead the life she has or endured the critism that this woman has. To answer the question of what does being naked on the cover of a mag have to do with being an adult or coming into her own is this. She has been in the public eye for years having venomous individuals hurling various comments about her sexuality for years. She has partly had to grow up in the limelight not being able to grow and develop as other young adults are able to do in private constantly having people critize the very air she breathes. All I am saying that, Ciara maybe this wonderful young lady. But unfortunately, when you do the research and ask all of the women (Black Women) who had long lasting staying power, they all tend to have a beauty that is so above taking their clothes off. I personal think the picture is nice, it shows the beauty of my dark sister. The shoes are hot, not to be worn out or less you are doing some modeling.
I am full-figure and no hate at all. I take that back, I wish it was me all 5’8 200pds on that cover, showing all my goodies. Heck, put me in the back of the index, on the little postal advertising that falls out the book when you open it. Do you CC, you look good.

Gotta get their attention some how!!! Too bad though…she was one of the few hip-hop artists that hadn’t resorted to being a hoochie…up to this point anyway. She can dance VERY well but she can’t make her CD take off on that alone…she has been given more credit than she deserves on her vocals.

When you cannot sing look at what you have to result to - nudity. Ciara where is your pride and selfrespect? How could your father have allowed you to do this? Does Ciara realize how much grade school children look up to her? I work at an elementary school in the computer lab and when the kids have free time they love to read about Ciara and Chris Brown. I am a mother, whose 13 year old daughter attended one of Ciara’s dance camps. She preached to the girls to never dispect yourself and to leave something to the imagination. I am now shocked to see this, if you teach something… believe and LIVE it yourself!!!
