Young Jeezy Tuesday (Wednesday AND Thursday) in Atlanta

mm639u.jpg

“The Recession” is apparently reason to celebrate — and more — for Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy.

Today is the release of the multimillion-selling artist’s third CD, “The Recession”. (See our story in the Living section HERE ).

Tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. Jeezy is scheduled to make an in-store appearance at North Georgia Compact Disc in Norcross (509 Beaver Ruin Rd. 770-416-6575). And later that night there is the concert at the Tabernacle — find tickets HERE — followed by an after-party planned at the Velvet Room (3358 Chamblee Tucker Rd. 404-874-4460).

But it won’t be self-promotion, self-promotion, self-promotion all week for the admitted Barack Obama supporter, as his Atlanta record label CTE is hosting a voter registration drive from 5 p.m to 8 p.m. at Justin’s Restaurant (2200 Peachtree Rd. 404-603-5353) on Thursday.

With a Top 5 single on Billboard’s rap, and R&B/Hip-Hop charts (“Put On”), and high-profile appearances here and in New York, is there any doubt “The Recession” will debut No. 1 in the country next week? What kind of numbers do you think he’ll do? And are you planning to attend any of the Jeezy events here this week?

funny that you would say that mark, because if you took your sheet off for a minute and did some research you’d find out that rap music today is purchased more by white teenagers.

Glad that you white people think about us so much. I could care less if a county album came out so I dont go to the site. But we know that you all want to be just like us.

Well Mark, I got news for you.

Furthermore, remember the the hate filled rant you had on the blog about Gay vaction spots? I asked you go on a private vaction with me. The invite is still on…I’d like 2 make you my little gurl. Hugs and kisses from your favorite gay man. Jessie

What the heck is a Jeezy? Why do all black rappers have the most messed up names? Seriously. Makes them look so stupid. That and the sideways hats with the flat bill in front along with baggy pants. The thugs wonder why nobody likes them and they get no respect? Gee I wonder why.

Mark and Jake

It’s funny to me how all the people with rude comments hide behind these blogs. Give us a date and time and say i will be here speaking the samething I write in these blogs. You guys won’t do that because you take with your fingers not your mouth 76% of rap music is bought by white kids. Do the math. if you can speak your mind with your fingers speak it in public and see the outcome in front of Jeezy and black America and by the way I’m White.

Mark, you are the flatterer. You are truly a vile individual. What gives me pause is that I’ve stooped to your level. I find it hard to comprehend that someone like you really exist. Hopefully, you just spit your venom for shock value. Obviously,it gets you off. I vacillate between complete repulsion to sheer pity for you. Grow up. Get a Life.

Mark what you misconstrue as “white and proud” is really “ignorant and pitiful”. I feel sorry for your kids.

Raised to believe that they are superior to someone else strictly because of the color of their skin. I’m sure their future is already laid out for them. Ceramic Klansman huh? Most be one depressing home (pardon me, shack) to live in.

A klansmen image to me personally is about on the same level as “Homie The Clown” honestly.

Mark, I am looking foward to the day when one of your offspring disappoints your narrow mind in the worst way. Hopefully, they will announce that they are marrying a person of color. Better yet, they announce their homosexuality. Now wouldn’t that be hoot for you. Then how are you going to deal with it? People are all the same, despite what you think. Excluding you of course, due to your neanderthal mindset. Please explain to me why your are filled with such rage against all minorities?

if someone were to even attempt an assasination MARK this country would fall in a week. Thats not a threat, thats a fact. Rap music is bought by white teens because they are the only ones who can spend 15 dollars consistently. Rap music has influenced white America because country, blue grass, and any other genre that the media wants to label as “white”, are simply boring and outdated and to be frank they’re not profitable.

Seriously AJC, why even try blogs like these? You keep the racism alive everyday. The racist comments on AJC’s blogs from both sides are really tiring. It’s disheartening honetsly…

all of you on here are ignorant. all so racist, even within races. the south is truly still a divide. people are cruel and you all should be ashamed of yourselves. its music. get over it. if u dont like it or want to hear about it, why did you read the article? go somewhere else. i’m impartial. i enjoy all types and genres of music - maybe you should actually, listen to the lyrics, open up and hear about someone else’s life, their story, their struggles and strife —- maybe your stupid asses could learn something.

and yes i’m white and proud. and no i dont just have white skin. i just is what is called open to diversity which is what makes the world a great place.

Mark is it really necessary to speak so negatively about other races or a person’s sexuality? Honestly, what has Jeezy or any other person of color ever truly done to you besides looking back at how their ancestors gave years of free labor to build this country? And now it’s like you hate people of color for living in what THEY built. Its the same as you paying your mortgage every month but the bank telling you that you’re not allowed to live in your house. Wouldn’t that seem unfair? Well people of color have invested alot within OUR country and we’re not going to let you or anyone as ignorant as you tell us that we don’t have a right to be here or that we shouldn’t feel as superior as you do. I mean really…what’s the big difference in us? I get up every morning, wake my kids, get them ready for school, have my coffee while making breakfast and watch the news, give out lunch money and sign permission slips, put them on the bus and my husband and I head out to work just like you do. I come home, check homework, cook dinner for my kids and my husband, sit at the dinner table and talk about the day, have bath time, and kiss my kids good night just like you do. The only difference in us that I can see is this…..I don’t teach my kids to see color or sexuality….I teach them to see the person. So when my son grows up and becomes the PRESIDENT(and yes I believe he can do it just like yours could)he’ll look past the sheet that’s draped over your son and see the person that he is. I’m not saying he’d like him but it won’t be because of his sheet. It’ll simply be because of the person that his father raised him to be. And so that there is no confusion…..my husband and I are both young, BLACK, professionals who love them some Jeezy….Heeeeyyyyy:)

Have a wonderful day Mark! I plan to!

Oh, put it on toast. some of you people on this blog seem like they’re in a fairy tale. ( well, we KNOW Jesse is). There is no “diversity”. I’ve met a hell of alot more black racists than white ones. It’s all in black and white. How many of you miscreants support illegal immigration? How many of you blacks are going to vote for Obama for the mere fact he’s black? This country only cares about big business, not you!! Read people!!!
