STS9 — From The Road

Though Sound Tribe Sector 9 are now California-based jam-rockers, many of the members grew up here, and Dave Murphy says, “still feel like Atlanta’s home.” That makes them eligible to send a Dispatch From the Road in advance of their two-night stand at the Masquerade Music Park, starting tonight; and the first annual Rock Against Cancer benefit concert, which some of the STS9 members will participate in — along with Collective Efforts and Dubconscious — at Sweetwater Brewery on Sunday. Planning to go to any of the shows — or all of them? Remember any of the STS9 members when they were Atlantans? Well here’s what Murphy sent the Atlanta Music Scene: What’s up ATL! STS9 here, shoutin’ out from the road. We’re out on tour this summer with our friends Umphrey’s McGee, DJ Rootz and Kaptain Harris, and are having a great time! And, we’re really stoked to be wrapping it all up in our home town! We’ve been touring in support of our new record, Peaceblaster, and love playing the new tracks off the album. There have been a lot of amazing shows along the way - Chicago, NYC, Philly and St. Louis - but the best will be coming back to Atlanta for the shows this weekend. The crowds are always live and hype in the South, which is just the way we like it!! We rarely play ATL outside of New Year’s, so we are definitely looking forward to seeing all of our friends and family!
