The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

She’s spent a lot of time here, so Janet Jackson should feel right at home when she comes to Philips Arena on Oct. 5. The singer’s Rock Witchu Tour is Jackson’s first road show in seven years and kicks off Sept. 10 in Vancouver.
Tickets for Jackson’s Atlanta date go on sale this Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. through Live Nation, the Philips Arena box office or through Ticketmaster charge by phone at 404-249-6400.
Another just-announced date is the Volunteer Jam on Aug. 15 at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta. The Charlie Daniels Band heads the line-up, which also includes Shooter Jennings — son of Waylon — and Southern rockers the Outlaws.
Tickets for the Volunteer Jam also go on sale Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. through all Ticketmaster outlets, on-line at Ticketmaster.com and charge by phone 404-249-6400.

Doesn’t she realise its over?!Gee, three albums to flop and she still tries an arena-tour? Shouldn’t this concert be an earth-link live, where the seating capacity is about 1,200?

YAWN…I saw her in 1992 during the Rhythm Nation Tour and she lip-synched most of the show. She’s a 40 year old wind bag who should hang it up, but there are plenty suckers out there who will plop down cash to see her. I live right down the street from Phillips Arena and I really could care less.

are you kiddin’ me? this is the weirdest chick. she married a debarge back in the early ‘80’s denied that she was married, etc. she got married again and stayed married for 10 years and denied it, etc. they say that she has a kid out there somewhere that she is…you guessed it, denied. she ain’t had a good album in years. please don’t waist your money. do what she has done over the years…deny her your money.

Yeah…she’s over. She has no vocal range at all. Her new album sounds the same, from track to track. All I hear is a whisper—EVERYTIME!

Janet Jackson is a legend and deserves to be respected. You haters werent saying all the negative stuff when she was hot. What gets me if you dont like her why waste your time writing anything. The girl is great at 40.

Janet is what these young divas which they were. Still as fine as they are and can perform as well. In fact she can sing and dance at the same time (Ciara??). Her last 3 albums were actually very good, the industry and the youngsters like the younsters (lets just keep it real). Just because she is 40 should not be a reason to diss the sister. We need to respect what she has done for R&B and support her, I know I will!!!

Only an artist of some stature can provoke the uninterested to respond. Already got my ticket through the pre-sale and will definitely support Ms. Jackson - hit records or not.

To all the haters wishing they could do what janet does at 42. It doesn’t matter if her last 2 albums flocked the last tour she did 7 years ago sold out arenas around the world and this one will be no different. Janet puts up 1 the best tours around and has established a solid fan base that isn’t going anywhere. This is why prince, madonna, janet and hell even tina turner at almost age 70 can still pack houses anywhere. Rock on Janet; nuff said!

Janet looks damn good to be 42! That is for you idiots that REALLY don’t know her age..which she has NEVER tried to hide..by the way!!!
I’m going to go to her concert and I know it’s going to be good!
Her personal life has absolutely nothing to do with her performance…for you people that’s trying to talk her down what about you? I bet your life is much more jacked up than her personal life ever was or will be you jerks from hell!
Go Janet!!!!

No one is hatin’ on Janet because the facts are there. Hey, I’ve said the same thing about Madonna and The Stones. It’s time for these windbags to hang it up. Like I said earlier, when I saw Janet on the RN tour, she lip-synched a large portion of the concert, sorry, that was fact, not fiction. Her latest was suppose to be her ‘comeback’, so where is it? The days of her selling a zillion cd’s are over, she’s done, finished. The same happened to Prince and look what he’s doing - Vegas!! Wake up and smell the coffee, she’s through!!

Judging by the intelligence displayed on this blog so far I can see why Ms. Jackson still has a fan base, or ever had one.

First, I don’t understand why people say “she looks good for 40”. How are you supposed to look at 40? You people act as if when you’re 40 you’re supposed to look like Rosanne Barr (lol). Many, many women especially celebrities look damn good in their 40’s 50’s and 60’s. Secondly, why is it that no one is saying Madonna, Tina, Cher, The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith and the Eagles are washed up and need to realize it’s over? They haven’t had hit albums either. Like someone mentioned above, this tour is for her fans. Let’s not drink from the bitter cup this morning.

Janet Jackson is and always will be a great talent who is loved by many. Most of these artists out today won’t ever have more than 30 years in show business. I saw her Rythm Nation tour back in 1990 and it was the BEST show I’d ever seen. She’s proved she can stand the test of time, and I’ll be right there at that concert!
LOVE YOU JANET!!

Janet is an Awesome/Elecrtrifying Entertainer!! As they say “Life begins at 40”. Must be a Teeny-Bopper who thinks someone is a wind bag at that age. In the real world people retire around 55-60 years of age. Janet is in her prime and it will be evident when she gives phenomenal performances during her tour which we await with bated breath. Go Janet! We love you!!

I attended the Velvet Rope and All For You concerts/tours, not only were they great, but no lip-synching. As a long-time fan of Janet, I have long recognized that she is not the greatest vocalist, but she is a great entertainer and displays a wonderful show (unlike some who are great vocalists and you’re bored watching them). And even though I didn’t care for the last cd and like the current one even less, I will be attending the show.
