Rate The “New” Cee-Lo/Jack Black Single

CEELO+2.JPG_1004870.jpg

Granted, the big news out of “Kung Fu Panda” these days is that co-star Angelina Jolie is having twins, but of course we’ve found an Atlanta connection.

Our local Grammy winner/Gnarls Barkley frontman/former - and returning?- Goodie Mob member/Pussycat Dolls penman/and underappreciated solo force Cee-Lo (above) has teamed up with the almost-equally-outrageous actor/rocker Jack Black, and they have remade “Kung Fu Fighting” for the soundtrack of Black’s “Kung Fu Panda,” due in theaters nationwide June 6.

“A fan of the song first, it was inspiring and an honor to have the opportunity to reintroduce the record to a brand new audience sprinkled with a little of me on top,” Cee-Lo said in a press release.

Hear a snippet HERE - it’ll be available to download May 27 — and tell us what you think.

And to get your weekend off to a comical start, here’s two YouTube videos of the No. 1 1974 original by Carl Douglas, below:

Atlanta’s JPat Management President/CEO Jonnetta Patton (above) has started her own independent record label - JPat Records — and two new acts on her roster are performing today

R&B group Kwiet Storm (above) and R&B artist Donte will sing at the 30th Annual Bauder College student fashion show tonight at AmericaMart.

You can see a live stream of their performances HERE at 8 p.m. .

AND you can hear Kwiet Storm’s first single “Get To Know You” now.

Patton, as many know, was her superstar son Usher’s longtime manager. And she is still guiding the career of his producing younger brother, JLack (who has already scored a hit with the Lloyd single “Get It Shorty”; and whose work will be on his sibling’s upcoming CD, “Here I Stand”).

What did you think of the production on “Get It Shorty”? What about the single here, “Get To Know You”? Interested in being on the new label?
