The Tabernacle may be closed until May
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Tabernacle, the 98-year-old downtown church-turned-concert venue, is looking at a May reopening after being damaged in the tornado.

Peter Conlon of Live Nation, which operates the Tabernacle, said Friday that the building is structurally sound. The concert hall underwent inspections and tests this week.
Among parts of the building that will have to be replaced are some of the stained-glass windows, which blew out in the tornado. They’ll get new ones, Conlon said. “We want it to be as nice, if not nicer, when we reopen it, ” he said.
At the moment, there’s no word on what will happen to the shows — or tickets purchased for them — scheduled between now and May, including the Elvis Costello performance on April 28.

Thanks for the update. I was about to buy Levon Helm tix. Will Live Nation subscribers get an e-mail update on this and other rescheduled dates?

How can a person under the guise of “seacrest” know anything about good music… anything seacrest is involved with is at the corner stone of what is wrong with music today. Meanwhile, good question about the Levon Helm show…one of the true original acts in Rock over the past 50 years

You mean to tell me people are still paying to see Sister Hazel sing their one semi-hit from 1998? I saw them open for Chumbawumba in Centennial Olympic Park in ‘98. It was free and I still felt ripped off. One can only imagine the level of suckitude they’ve reached in the last decade.

You intentionally saw Chumbawumba and you’re making fun of Sister Hazel? The irony does not escape me.

That’s true about Sister Hazel. They are bad. They play Athens about once a week, they’re basically a frat party band. What we all should be worrying about is the Mars Volta show that got canceled. I won’t sleep tonight because of that.
