ajc only reports on black groups playing. never white groups. maybe these two should play at clayton county schools to get kids to pay attention.

“The Truth” - You are a complete tool. You only NOTICE when ajc reports BLACK groups b/c you are obviously an insecure biggot. If Barbra Streisand, Barry Manilow, Foo Fighters, etc., are Black then you could have fooled me. ALL of their Atlanta performances have been announced and reported on ajc.com.
Furthermore, a black group playing in Philips arena has nothing to do with the state of Clayton County school system. That has to do with poor county management, low education funding (vis a vis low community tax bracket, etc.)
People like you are cowards who hide behind anonimity on blogs b/c you’re too much of a loser to say these things to someone’s face. If you had any real intelligence anyway, you’d know that these issues are totally unrelated.

some ignorant person always has to play the race card. the ajc reported when widespread panic, kenny chesney, and countless others come into town. its not a black white thing its a music thing. and your little comment about clayton co schools was a waste of space. truth be told kids not paying attention isnt just a clayton co issue its an issue throughout the state. check your records. besides from the sound of it it doesnt look like you are doing anything to help any kids in any public school regardless of county!

The real truth thanks for the race card comment because it is most definitely true. The fact that anyone would only notice the race of the artists is proof that they are bigots. And as for the comment about the students in Clayton county schools, you guys obviously do not know what the accreditation issue is about. The issue is involving the management of funds and the management period involving the council and has nothing to do with the students’ attention span. That’s why there are talks about a complete resignation of every member. Also voice of reason I understand your anger a little but that was 300 years ago and yes racism has far to go but you and “the truth” only holds everyone back.
Also, I graduated from Clayton county schools 6 years ago and when I attended the whole school was not black and listened to hip-hop. And I went to college with students from Gwinnett county schools that were both black and white. Come on guys let’s get it together, seriously this needs to stop.

The AJC is one of the best newspapers in the country.
why does everything have to be a race issue? Besides…whites like Mary J and Jay Z also. Since race was brought up. There was a time when blacks couldn’t even attend concerts….with whites
Anyway concerts bring revenue and boosts the economy for the city of Atlanta. Philips Arena is one of the top destinations in country for events. Widespread Panic set a record at Philips.
If someone is going to make comment about this topic…talk about the talents of these two “Grammy” Award Winning artists.
How ignorant to make a comment like that and it’s “Black History Month.”
Also, if you can’t say anything nice about a county in my home state. Don’t say anything at all. Let’s have some pride in our state.
Let’s talk about music.
Good greef.

The ignorant posts are probably by people who, outside of blogs, aren’t acknowledged at all. In their inherent need for attention, they make dumb comments. These idiots will not benefit from your response, no matter how poetic or prolific it may be. So, here’s a thought: Stick to the topic and ignore them!

Being a black man who loves rock over hip-hop it’s funny to me how sensitive ppl can be. By the truth is cleary ignorant but give the loser a break. Like BJ so eloquently stated and I quote “How ignorant to make a comment like that and it’s “Black History Month.”” By the truth, it seems your comment would be acceptable any of the other 11 months we have…lol

Time to leave that town…I can only imagine that the ghetto trash of the city will be out cruising downtown and Midtown, drunk off of their Cristal and Hen….Lenox Mall will be overrun by skanks getting their concert gear. It should be a great concert, but the Atlanta ELEMENT will find a way to ruin that evening.

Bj I was with you until you felt the need to mention that we can ALL now attend the concerts together. Tacky.. very tacky.. I assume you may also like to point out that also right now. in 2008 we can all vote together too..FOR NOW… sheesh always someone somewhere has to turn a simple blog into a race issue. “the truth” - you are funny! For you to label someone as homosexual because they call you out for being a retard biggot is quite amusing. The topic of the blog is about two of the biggest acts in music coming to perform at Philips Arena and you are mentally challenged enough to turn it into a race issue.
It’s because of people like you that the rest of the world hates America. As a “white person” you feel that you are somehow entitled to judge yourself as being better than others. Guess what, dude…we (white people) are in the MINORITY throughtout the rest of f*cking planet and in a few years we’ll be in the minority in the U.S. too!
If you don’t like Black people, Latinos, or whomever else, move to Sweden, Scotland, Norway or wherever the f*ck else Aryan b@$tards live and have fun eating raw meat and sheep eyes.
As for white history month, I don’t know if I’d want to celebrate our history of stealing people’s land, massacring natives, enslaving and brutalizing kidnapped humans, and running around in cowardly hoods burning crosses and lynching innocent people. That’s not the kind of stuff I want to teach my kids.
By the way, the homosexual crack you made reaks of p&nis envy on your part.

February 19, 2008 2:28 PM | Link to this
Chad, I’m the reason the rest of the world hates me? I could care less about the rest of the world because I have high esteem. As for my p&nis. It’s big. No envy here. Maybe you should just move to North Korea since you hate white people and America. I really hope you can never have kids. They would probably grow up to hate you.

Look at the premise of his argument: “never” report on white groups? Please, ajc reports on all bands of relevance. And this one I love: “…these two should play for Clayton County schools to get the kids to pay attention.” It is not the kids who are not paying attention, it is the Board of Ed. that is out to lunch. To by the truth. Since you are upset about the ajc always reporting on black entertainment, don’t read the ajc. You state that the ajc never reports on white entertainers, well it’s simply because, white entertainers do not come to Atlanta, and futhermore, where all the white entertainers. I remember the 80’s, and all the white entertainers, many of who I listented to, but even most of them were from Europe. Atlanta is a predomentaly black city, and I wish that you rednecks in Gwinnett, Cobb, and N.Fulton, would just get over it. If it were not for the black entertainers, Atlanta would not even be in the spotlight. Where is the white, famous local talent, find it and respond.

Sean, Along with that same talent came crime. Look at the genre of music. Look at Jay Z’s latest album. You can’t possibly sit there and tell me that this music is somehow great. At least the white entertainers of the 80’s didn’t glorify killing and calling each other the N word. I don’t consider rappers talent. I can certainly name off country singers, actors and ball players that are WHITE that come from Georgia.
