Seems like only yesterday(because it was), Verizon (ASO) officials were unequivocally denying any more shows. Yet, last evening, there was the 4th show announced on their website and Ticketmaster. Pretty sorry.

I also feel sorry for the people that jumped on marginal location tix for the first Wednesday show, only to have more weekend shows appear a few minutes later. How about estimating demand and offering all shows at the same time?

I hope the Verizon seating chart offered on Ticketmaster will be improved to show row and seat numbers, like most venues have.

Ticketmaster does need to do a better job of letting you know what the prices are for each area of seating. It wasn’t a big deal for the Eagles show —since all reserved seats are $185 and lawn seats are $65. I lucked out and didn’t get tickets for Wednesday —but instead picked up Saturday tickets.

I am awaiting both Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers and Rush ticket announcements. I have noticed that -at least at other venues where Petty tickets have already gone on sale— there are three, sometimes four different price ranges.

I would like to know the cut-off point for the most expensive seats and second tier seats PRIOR to logging onto Ticketmaster so I can ‘plan my attack’ so to speak —decide if I should go for ‘best seats available’ or select a specific priced ticket.

Ah, for the days of camping out all night at Turtles, putting your name down on the ‘sign’ up’ sheet that the first person in line usually created, waiting it out and ‘earning’ your right for something in the first 25 rows, therefore bypassing the Ticketmaster ‘convenience fees’ and then the additional ‘handling charge’ that is tacked on.

Great to get the venue, but can’t we appreciate 1 or 2 memorable nights with the eagles? Seems like they have also become the HOUSE band.

There are three or four acts that I would go to the trouble and expense to see perform live. One of then is the Eagles. My favorite CD is the one called “The Eagles Live” that was performed somtime during the 80’s in Southern California.

$185 for a ticket to see the Eagles? I know I’m getting old but… I remember seeing the Rolling Stones at Georgia Southern for $2.00. Yes, you read that right—Two Dollah!

Or Jefferson Airplane, Lesley West and Mountain, and the Allman Brothers (when there WERE brothers not just one) free in Piedmont Park…among many others….

Or Great Southeast Music Hall - Hot Tuna for $5.00…. and on and on…

ahhhh for the good ol’ days, price AND music were soooooo much better then! But I was so much younger then, I’m older than that now…

When I saw the Eagles at the Omni in 1976 Fleetwood Mac was the warm-up act, though, technically, I gues you could really say that they were co-headliners! And, what happend to Don Felder, one of the original members, even before, and during, the Joe Walsh era?

Check out the Busy Being Fabulous video the Eagles have out on the web now. It is on Yahoo videos (among others) and one of the best that I have seen.

PS: Don Felder had differences with the band and left in 2001. He has written a book about his experience as an Eagle from 1974-2001 that will be out this summer. Its title is Heaven and Hell, My Life as an Eagle. Sounds interesting.

I agree with ya linny. My dad said the same and has an old ticket stub when it only cost $10.00 to see em! I hate the prices they’re asking for now but they started this crap back during the Hell Freezes Over tour. Not paying $65.00 for lawn seats.

Oh well, I have the new cd and will wait for the live dvd. Maybe Cheap Trick will come back again since I havn’t seen them either and they won’t ask big bucks to see them.

I am looking at my ticket stub from the November 11, 1979 Long Run concert at the old OMNI. Sec. 108, Row M, seat 4…….price $12.50. Not paying $65 to sit my old a** on the grass.

Blah, blah, blah about the old days. I have a friend coming down from NY for the Eagles concert if I can get tickets for the Tuesday show. Will I be able to get tickets online Monday @ 10:00 or should I suck it up and get VIP packages? Sounds like they are selling really fast. Just looking for some honest advice. Thanks!

DR- you should not have any problem getting tix on Monday. The truly “excited” fans have already got them. I’m afraid that the caliber of “fanatic” will lessen as the number of shows increases.

Man I almost made that show when Fleetwood Mac opened for the Eagles….I did see them twice on the Hell Freezes Over tour…they were all and more than I expected. Those seats were $75.00 each…how ever long ago that was?

The new marketing model is to “give away” the music and make up for it by charging an arm-and-a-leg for the concerts. If people want free downloads, how long before they want free concerts, too? Personally, I’d rather pay $10 for a concert.
