Alpharetta dates added after Eagles concert sales soar
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Eagles are flying high in Alpharetta.

Huge demand for tickets to see the classic rock band caused promoters to add two more shows at Alpharetta’s soon-to-open outdoor theater.
With tickets to the May 14 show at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater at Encore Park being quickly snapped up Friday, promoters added weekend shows on May 16 and 17.
According to a search Monday afternoon on www.ticketmaster.com, no tickets are available for any of the shows. Tickets have been selling for between $65 and $185 each.
Encore Park is a 12,000-seat open-air concert venue scheduled to open in May. The $35 million facility was commissioned by the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to attract concertgoers outside the Perimeter.
General lawn seating and reserved seating are available.
Four-person group tables began being sold to season ticket holders last summer for upwards of $20,000 for the 40 different acts to appear this spring and summer.

I’ve never seen the Eagles, but I can’t wait for this one to come to town even though I bought lawn seats, it just seemed like $185 was a bit too steep to pay for that, even $65 is a bit steep to sit on the lawn, but hopefully it won’t be raining. I’ll probably see them out of town too as I can’t wait to see where the rest of the shows will be in the U.S.

I was able to see the Eagles when they played at the old OMNI in 1994. Whatever the price, they are worth it. Best live concert I attended, even better than the Rolling Staoes who played her later that year

This can be the greatest happening in recent history! I can’t wait! Will see two of the shows. Worth every cent - cheap at twice the price!!!

There’s no need to see more than one show. The Eagles basically play the same songs, in the same sequence, every night. I too saw them at the Omni in ‘94, attending nights 1 and 3. The shows were basically replicas of each other (my friend was there the 2nd night and there was no deviation either). Not only that, but the banter and comments between each song were the exact same, almost scripted. I don’t expect anything to change this time around. I’ll be there opening night, and that’ll be it for me, thank you very much.

i love the eagles so much — they have the best show — their sound is just like their recordings — i’ve been waiting for them to come back it seems like forever and was so very disappointed to learn they’d been snagged by the amphitheatre in alpharetta — not that impressed with outdoor acoustics — unless you are in the seats the sound is awful — perhaps they’ll come back to phillips or the gwinnett arena!!

Love the Eagles & have seen them 3 times here in Atlanta..I won’t be seeing them this time though, as I agree about costing to much to see them..I think they are wonderful in concert though..

Have to say that I wanted to go. I have seen EVERY major band that has played Atlanta since the mid 1980’s. I will not pay $185 for any band except The Rolling Stones.
When Bruce is $110 (floor) and Tom Petty is $65 (and they are easily the best touring bands out there right now) $185 is just insane.

So are there, or aren’t there tickets available?

That is a little bit to much even to see the Pope. I can use the money for myself or my childs new WII game and have change left and buy the CD’S. It doesn’t appear that they will be dancing around and having a stage show anyway. Enough is enough.
Best of luck…..Rock on!

OK, I’ll come right out and admit it. I bought 4 reserved seating tickets for the Eagles. And yes, it’s a lot of money, but he Eagles remain one of the few remaining rock n’ roll legends. When theybroke up back in 82 it was like “wham!”, and they were gone. Though Don Felder does not tour with them anymore, they are still quite possible the premier band of my generation still out there playing superbly. So to me, my money is not so much going to see a mere concert, but more alog the lines of acknowledging the passing of time, that I’m getting older and pieces of my past harder to find, and if I am to pay these damn high prices, at least with THIS band I know I’ll be getting my moneies worth. Nuff potificating on high prices, get them bad boys on the stage and LET’S ROCK!!!!!!

…looking forward to the show and opening night of the new amphitheatre (lawn ticket). $185 is WAAAAAY out of hand however. it takes something away from the music when you have to pay that much to see a band play. i paid about $80 for a clapton floor seat in ‘06, but $185!!! no way.
