All-Star: All Screams for Jonas Bros.

Ahhhhh…There’s nothing like the screech of boy-crazy adolescence in the morning to wake you right up.

Or for hockey-crazed boys, seeing their favorite NHL players up close, in one venue.

And for those teen girls and boys dads, well, let’s just say quite a few Bud and Miller Lites were being sold Saturday morning at Philips Arena, even though the clock hadn’t even struck 10 a.m. .

That was some of the sights, sounds and sips happening at the Verizon Wireless/NHL Rockin Skate Saturday at Philips; where hockey was supposed to be the focus of this NHL All-Star Weekend event, but the loudest screams were for the Jonas Brothers. And when the pop-rock trio actually got on stage for their closing eight-song set - wow!

Amongst the many teen girls in the audience (surely an anomaly at a “hockey event”) were Peachtree City 14-year-olds Taylor Kemp, Katie Gingher and Jessica McCloskey. They were holding a homemade sign in the arena aisle that read: “Hello Beautiful Hold On To Your S.O.S. When You Look Me In The Eyes” — a greeting made up of songs from the Disney stars’ latest self-titled CD.

Sure “Friday Night Lights’ ” long-haired pin-up Taylor Kitsch was co-hosting, along with actress Alyssa Milano (promoting her new line of clothing) and Atlanta’s five-time Grammy winner Usher (whose non-profit organization New Look benefited from the ticket sales).

But even the one-time teen fave himself seemed to realize as he was explaining his foundation, that the only thing those in the maybe half-full arena wanted to hear were the words ‘Jonas Brothers’.

“i don’t know if you guys know much about what I do but I mentor at-risk youth,” Usher said. “I teach them about the business side of the sports and entertainemnt industry…As you look at your screen you’ll see what we’re doing with New Look here in Atlanta. But also, there’s an intern program that has been put into action with the NHL allowing those kids to apply a lot of what they learn through our, uh [pauses] Jonas Brothers!”

It was like, “Jarome Iginla, who?”

And after the east and west teams took to the ice for skating, interviews and some of the SuperSkills demonstrations, that point was only underlined by the high-decibel response to the arrival of siblings Joseph, Kevin and Nicholas.

Their mostly up-tempo show (“Year 3000,” “That’s Just The Way We Roll”) slowed only twice for the girls to raise their cellphones and free glo sticks to “Hello Beautiful” and “When You Look Me In The Eyes.” But the closer was the charging “S.O.S.”, reason number 102 during the three-hour event for Taylor, Katie and Jessica to test out the adult’s ear plugs — again.

Did you wear out your vocal chords with the others at Philips Arena? How would you rate the show? Happen to see the Jonas Brothers when they opened for Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus a couple of months back at the Gwinnett Arena? And if so, how did it compare?

RIGHT AFTER I LEFT THE CONCERT TODAY, MY DAD DROVE BEHIND THE JONAS BROTHERS LIMO ALL THE WAY THROUGH THE BACK ROADS OF ATLANTA AND ENDED UP AT THE PEACHTREE DEKALB AIRPORT AND MY SISTERS AND I WERE THE LAST PEOPLE TO SEE THE JONAS BROTHERS BEFORE THEY GOT ON THEIR JET AND LEFT. IT WAS SO COOL. THEY WERE SO NICE. THEY WALKED ALL THE WAY OVER TO US FROM THE PLANE WHICH WAS READY TO GO. MY DAD IS POSTING THE VIDEO OF OUR ENCOUNTER ON YOUTUBE. LOOK IT UP UNDER A SEARCH OF “RIRZKL” !!!!

The Greenwood’s spent the morning at Philips Arena awaiting the Jonas Brothers. After almost 2 hours of hockey the children were getting very restless. But, I must say that the wait was well worth it. Not only were the children wowed, but my husand and I as well. As a mother of an 8 year old daughter who suffers from Type 1 Diabetes, it was a wonderful inspiration to her to see someone like Nick Jonas, who suffers from the same thing. It allowed her to see that this illness will not and cannot keep you from reaching you dreams. Nick Jonas and his brothers are great kids and have given alot of joy and hope to a little girl from Buford, GA. Thanks for a wonderful concert..

The concert was AMAZINGG!! I think most people were at philips arena today just for them… me and my friends definitly were!! We were in the very front row and it was so awesome. The Jonas Brothers are AWESOME and I LOVE THEM!!!!

The concert was fine but I’m not sure what the NHL was thinking here. The NHL All-Star game is an opportunity to attract new fans and to appeal to their existing fan base. The Jonas Brothers’ fan base is mostly young, teen-age girls, most of whom have no interest in hockey and its fighting, checking and skating. The audience this morning had little interest in the NHL All Stars. The NHL really lost an opportunity today to appeal to their fan base.

I ONLY WENT TO THE SHOW FOR THE JONAS BROTHERS! I LOVE THEM SO MUCH! MY THROAT HURTS REAL BAD FROM SCREAMING! I HAD THE TIME OF MY LIFE! WHEN THEY SHOWED THEM WALKING INTO THE ARENA ON THE BIG SREEN I SCREAMED SO LOUD AND SO STRONG I ALMOST FAINTED! I ALSO ALMOST FAINTED WHEN THEY CAME OUT ON STAGE! I LOVE THE JONAS BROTHERS!

What is wrong with the AJC? You immediately have Jonas Brothers pictures up, but don’t post anything about Wyclef’s concert last night. He was amazing, and it was one of the best concerts I have ever been to. You immediately post Marilyn Manson pictures, but no Wyclef? He has more talent in his big toe than Manson and definately the Jonas Brothers, and not to mention he does great things outside of music. I think you need to give more credit when credit is due. He had 70 year old men dancing last night, waving their coats in the air. If you have posted anything, I have missed it because you tuck it away in places behind Amy Winehouse’s drug problems and Bobby Brown singing country music. AMAZING.

THAT WAS THE MOST AMAZING CONCERT EVER!!! The goodnight and goodbye dance. &&Not to mention that Joe was staring at me the whole concert. &&He waved and smiled at me too. Not even kidding.

I went with my teens this morning, only to see the Jonas Brothers. It was completely worth it ! The guys put on a great, albeit short, show !!

The only dowside…..they sold out of Jonas Brothers tshirts before we got to the front of the line !

Otherwise, it was a perfect morning!

Can’t wait for the Jonas Brothers to come back this way again!

..I fainted. ..I cried.

It was just amazing. They always make their shows a memorable experience for everyone. They are great entertainers, and I think that the industry could use a bit more of that kind of talent.

OMG that was like awesome their opening act was Thats just the way we roll and their ending was s.o.s where kevin did his amazing s.o.s dance but he looked tired.We saw their limo and ushers leave and the jb tour bus was right next to us to but they were in a limo….The limo you could see through so we waved and kevin waved back and joe rolled down the window and said thanx for coming hope you guyz enjoyed it!! We said we did… but we were so embarresed when they rolled the window down cause their cd was playing in our car, but wthier way it was amazing!

i luved the concert!!!! it was my 1st concert EVER!!! i LUV the jonas brothers!!! I LOVE NICK JONAS!!!!! that walk they did….omg!!!! it was sooooo hot!!!!! every time i think about it….i practically faint!!!! i LUV the jonas brothers!!! oh my jonas. Their performance was absolutely amazing! My two friends and I went to Star94’s Jingle Jam (with the Jonas Brothers) also. So, together, we have decided that the Jonas Brothers cannot improve on their perfect-ness. These two performances were basically a tie. The NHL Rockin’ Skate 2008 event was probably more exciting though, my friends and I were on the big screen and we saw the Jonas Brothers’ tour buses, but overall, they did an AMAZING job. peace.love.jonas x3

OH MY JONAS . i was pretty close up and i got GREAT pictures . they were AHHHMAZING . they made up for the hockey part [ first of all taking too long and the thing was BUNK ] but then again , Jonas brothers make EVERYTHING better !!!!!!!!!! :) i loveddddd it . betweent Star 94 Jingle Jam and this ;; it was a tieee :)

ohmygosh. i went to the jonas brothers concert and it was so amazing!! nick was so HOT… as usual… and they were awesome! i saw a girl in front of me crying… wow! it was tons of fun. my throat STILL hurts! i love you jonas brothers!! especially nick! ;)
