T.I. and Friends Top Charity Goal for Hosea
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Tuesday morning Atlanta rapper-actor T.I.’s publicist issued a statement about his charitable efforts for Thanksgiving, including his hope to raise $150,000 among his “celebrity friends” for the Hosea Williams Feed The Hungry Thanksgiving Day Dinner Event.
Tuesday afternoon, he delivered.
Confined to his lakefront home, facing felony weapons charges, T.I. got on the phone with V-103’s Ryan Cameron and solicited money from fellow music industry types. Fellow rapper-actors Big Boi and Busta Rhymes, R&B singer Ne-Yo and music moguls Jermaine Dupri, Michael “Mr. Collipark” Crooms, Polow Da Don, Devyne Stephens and Kevin Liles answered his call - literally, on the air - and Cameron says they came up with a total of $167,000.

T.I. has consistanly displayed a sense of uplipting the community. For example, real estate and numerous donations and developments to benefit where he comes from. However, I am doing not praising him. I am simply honoring him for being humble and sharing his blessings. He worked hard to gain financial rewards in spite of various challenges secondary to being a product of his community. Yet he prospired as a result of those challenges. He leads by example, which enables him to solicit his peers to give back. Kudos to T.I. and keep your head up.

T.I. has done numerous things for the underpriviliged Kimmie so know your facts. This didn’t just start this year, after or because he got busted. The bottom line is his efforts helped feed a lot of people.
He wasn’t buying drugs he is accused of buying guns. I don’t agree with his actions but it’s not like he was buying guns to start a war. He has been placed in a position where he has a need to protect himself and family. He is not allowed to own a gun because he is a convicted felon - something that happened years ago. T.I. is not and has not been in the news constantly for something negative that he has done or does before this latest incident. People purchase guns everyday so don’t judge him for his past(when he was selling drugs) judge him for the man he has become and is today. T.I. my prayers are with you and I believe in my heart that God will see you through this and have favor upon you. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP.

I think that this is one of the main reasons why the judge did put him on house arrest. He has done so many things for the community in Atlanta. it is really unfortunate that he is in the predicument that he’s in.

What an awesome thing for T.I to do! Out of most of the entertainers in the industry you always see T.I. in some kind of kind. Honestly, he always helping the community with his hard earned money or donations from friends. Its so sad how he is never noticed for the things he’s done for the poorer parts of Atlanta.
Im just glad God sees and knows all. Jesus was persecuted, so was M.L.K although they werent “gangster rappers” they all have something in common, they all preach about getting ahead in life…
The sad thing is I didnt hear Tyler Perry do anything for the poor/ homeless people. If he has and it wasnt noticed Id like to know about it. I love Tyler Perry but lets be real he was homeless years ago and he still talks about it. Lets talk about Tyler Perry doing something for the Taskforce Development, United Way or any of the area homeless shelters that have to constantly turn folks away because they have no money or space…
I would also like to add that Ive had the privilege of spending time in T.I.s presence and speaking with a few people in his entourage and for the record he is always giving. Even when he gets bottles of Moet, boxes of Heiniken or boxes of cigars, at the clubs, this man is always given to his friends before he takes anything, if he even takes anything for himself…He is a genuinely nice guy! I just wish the people would see it.
God bless you T.I., Tiny your family and friends

AniYa A- Thanks for providing all of us with the chicken-head, hood rat perspective on this situation. How many times have you been turned out by his entourage?
