The Boss Returns

The Boss is coming back to Atlanta. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will play Philips Arena on April 25, and the tickets go on sale this Saturday (Nov. 17) at noon.

It’s sure to be one of the hot tickets in Atlanta in the coming months. Planning to be in line (or online) Saturday to secure your spot at the show? Or are you hoping to score Widespread Panic tickets for the Athens band’s New Year’s shows (Dec. 30 and 31)? Those go on sale Friday (Nov. 16) at 10 a.m.

Tickets for both shows will be available through www.livenation.com, the Philips Arena box office, or through Ticketmaster charge by phone at 404-249-6400.

What concert are you most looking forward to in the near future?

I used to be a HUGE Springsteen fan until he went political, just like alot of other groups have. I don’t CARE about YOUR political views, I just want to listen to some music. If I wanted your opinion on world affairs, I would watch more C-SPAN. I guess I will voice my opinion and stop buying your music and stop paying for concert tickets.

I’ll never forget seeing Bruce live on campus the week Born to Run hit the stands. Looking forward to seeing him again 33 years later !!

Guess What folks? These tickets are already gone! Just like the Hanah Montana tickets were. Get ready to pay 200.00 plus each from a broker.

Former Boss Fan…trust me, you were never a true fan to begin with if you turn away from an artist who writes about what’s in their heart and on people’s minds.

Go pick-up the new Britney Spears record if you want “political-free” mindless entertainment devoid of any substance.

When was Springsteen not political? He has songs with political commentary that go all the way back to the beginning. I am a hardcore conservative and the Boss is a hardcore liberal, but I still think he is the greatest performer of my generation. I am a huge fan and will always remain one.

I hope I will get a chance to see him.

I would go to this but I bought tix yesterday for Clapton/Winwood in NY in Feb. Very expensive, but am so looking forward to it. The Bruce tix are $67 and $97, very reasonable. Kudos to Bruce for keeping them fairly affordable.

I agree Former Boss Fan about liking until political. I was just telling someone about that a few days ago.

When was in school at GT, I used to usher down at the Fox sometimes and have seen Bruce 4 or 5 times along with many others. It was cool and it was free, so why not?! After the lights went down you could move/sit anyplace you wanted. I even once lit Carlos Santana’s joint!

I still have vinyl of the old days.

Have you tried the latest “Magic” CD? I have not listened to every word, but it ain’t too bad.

If you are going to the Police concert this weekend, buy your Bruce Springsteen tickets at the Phillips Arena box office and save some money. You do not pay the $10+ Ticketmaster fee at the Phillips Arena box office.

If you think the Boss wasn’t political in his early records, then you weren’t listening very closely.

I lived in Ocean Grove, NJ (right next to Asbury Park)from 1965-1973. I still remember ‘The Stone Pony’ when locals used to come in for a set or two, which included Bruce. The old music hit home with me I guess, and I really enjoyed the feeling of going back home to my childhood. I enjoyed all his pre-Born in the USA stuff, then he kind of went commercial, which in this day and time means political. I still think ‘Born to Run’ was the best album he ever did. His live album was GREAT! Seems that after ‘Tunnel of Love’, he started to slip into the political realm. Now he seems to be more like Bob Dylan then Bruce. I miss the old Bruce, but I don’t listen to music for the purpose of being told about the environment, politics, foreign policy, global psycho babble, etc….

Sounds like “Former Boss Fan” was as in tune with Springsteen’s lyrics as President Reagan was… “Born in the USA” and others are all political and social commentary… not some patriotic, nationalistic ballads! I think we forget that musicians are voters too… if you don’t agree, vote the other way… we each get a vote that counts! Let them have their say, you get yours.

I’m sure he could care less. I’m sure you’ll be happy when Bryan Adams comes to town.

You probably should watch more C-Span - then you might understand his lyrics better.
