No. 6 Georgia's Marshall injures right knee

The Associated Press

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. —

Georgia now is dealing with injuries to both its star running backs.

Keith Marshall injured his right knee in the first quarter of the sixth-ranked Bulldogs' 34-31 overtime victory at Tennessee on Saturday after getting hit by cornerback Cam Sutton while reaching for an incomplete pass. Marshall was carted into the locker room and was on crutches after the game, though Georgia coach Mark Richt had no update on his condition.

Georgia wide receivers Justin Scott-Wesley and Michael Bennett and punter Collin Barber were hurt later in the game.

Georgia already was without Todd Gurley, who sprained his left ankle last week. Gurley has rushed for 450 yards and four touchdowns on 71 carries. Richt said after the game that Gurley had a 50-50 chance of playing next week against Missouri.

Marshall had five carries for 33 yards before the injury. He had entered Saturday with 213 yards on 51 carries.
