WAYNE, Neb. —
Nebraska authorities have identified the man critically injured in Friday's tornadoes as a Wayne State College administrator, but doctors believe he will recover from his injuries.
The Nebraska Emergency Management Agency says 15 people were injured when a tornado moved across part of Wayne, Neb., on Friday and damaged businesses and homes.
Wayne State College says its chief information officer John Dunning was hurt critically by flying debris while seeking shelter outside his vehicle during the storm.
Doctors performed several surgeries on Dunning, and the college said he remained in a medically-induced coma Saturday night. His wife said doctors expect him to recover.
Dunning has worked at Wayne State since 2011.
