GEAR HEADS REJOICE! A gaggle of classic car-related events takes place each month. Get the proverbial motor running and make plans to covet a collection of cars you've been dreaming about.

On the third Saturday of each month through December, the Forsyth Campus of Lanier Technical College turns into an early morning appreciation of old-school and new-school cars. Expect muscle cars, hot rods, antique cars, Italian sports cars, trucks and more. Guests arrive as early as 7 a.m. to sip java and peruse the autos on view. Local car clubs the Peach State Kappa Club and the Georgia Pontiac Fiero Club host the August gathering, which benefits the Acoustic Neuroma Association Brain Tumor Foundation.

Classic and Muscle Car Cruise
This new car show is in its second month. On the third Saturday of each month, Season Tickets Sports Bar and Grill plays host to oodles of autos. Muscle cars flex, and vintage rides show their stuff. If you think you have what it takes, enter your car in the show for free.

American Muscle Car and Classic Car Cruise
On the second Saturday of each month through October, the Hooters restaurant in Jonesboro hosts this classic car conglomeration. A bevy of classic cars fills the Hooters of Tara parking lot. Hosts give away prizes, and guests snap photos of rides from decades gone by. Hooters staff say if the waitresses aren't too busy, they'll be happy to step outside and pose for photos next to a revered hot rod.

Tucker Cruise In
Main Street in downtown Tucker closes down the second Saturday of each month for this popular classic car show. Everything from street rods to motorcycles line up along Main Street's parking spots for car lovers to drool over. Although the street is closed, eateries Old Tucker Fountain and Rotagilla Cajun Restaurant stay open. The show's regular schedule ends in October, but it reconvenes for a special Christmas car show Dec. 6.

Classic Car Cruise
Partners II Pizza in Fayetteville hosts this classic car get-together on the first Saturday of each month. Itching to put your vintage ride in a car show? Contestant entry is free. Cars and their owners gather outside of the restaurant for fun and bragging rights.
