Campaign promotes shopping in Fayette
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Before you know it the holidays will be here. Some of you may have already finished up your shopping by grabbing bargains from last year.
Others will be scrambling in the weeks to come to find that perfect gift. But with the economy looking as flat as a pancake, spending with caution will probably be at the top of your list. Not only will we want to spend less money on gifts, but we will also want to spend less money on gas and time getting to the shops, which brings me to a story I saw this week in the Fayette Daily News, a local paper.
The Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and Peachtree City mayor have joined forces to promote shopping closer to home. Read on:
The Peachtree City Council and the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce want the residents of Fayette to do their holiday shopping at home this year. Thursday night, PTC Mayor Harold Logsdon and Chamber President Virginia Gibbs joined forces to promote “Find It In Fayette” for the holiday month with a proclamation.
So, let’s go down the list of places to purchase that perfect gift in Fayette County. TinselTown movie theater: you can buy gift certificates Restaurants: ditto J.C. Penneys All the stores at The Avenue in Peachtree City. All the stores in the Fayette Pavilion.
Yes, there are certainly other businesses in between those mentioned above, but let’s face it…it’s pretty slim pickings. But, for the sake of the Fayette County economy, I think we could do it.
What do you think? Could you do all of your holiday shopping in this county? And if so, which places do you think you will visit?
