Keeping a tight grip on the faucet

The following excerpt is from a recent story on ajc.com (Fayette):

As of Tuesday, water restrictions have been relaxed for Fayette County. You can water between midnight and 10 a.m. on days determined by your address. Odd addresses water on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday; even addresses, on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Nobody is allowed to water on Friday.

So here’s my take on this. Unless we have 40 days and nights of pouring-down rain, ! I’m going to continue to be very conservative in my water use. I’m a little afraid if we all go back to some water-wasting habits, we’ll be back in a don’t-water-at-all situation, and that’s not worth it.

I’m still not flushing the toilet every single time- only when necessary (if you get my drift).

And I’m still taking water from a dehumidifer and using it to water plants.

And I wouldn’t dream of washing my car in the driveway. That’s what those self-washing car places are for.

As for me, I’ll continue to conserve the precious resource of water and pretend the restrictions are as tight as they can be.

What about you? Will you relax your water use with the new rules? Or will you continue to keep a tight grip on the faucet?
