What kind of retail do you want in Fayette?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Another one bites the dust.
Yep, it’s true, Goody’s, in the Fayette Pavilion is closing.
As I turned into the shopping center from Ga. 314 this past weekend there was a guy holding one of those signs; Prices slashed a gazillion percent. Store closing.
The very first thing that came to mind was now we’ll have another empty big-box store. I don’t know how long it will be before Goody’s closes, but I did start thinking about who could be the next tenant to fill that space.
Clearly it would have to be some kind of retail store; but for the life of me, I can’t think of any.
Do you have any suggestions? Who or what kind of store would you like to see in that space?

Quite frankly, I love the Dollar Store, no matter where it it located. I can shop there and then have more money left over to send to the Creflo Dollar Ministries.

I know it won’t fit in the Goody’s store, but we need a Red Lobster.

I agree with Tattooed Educator. There aren’t enough spots for entertainment in Fayetteville.

How about a Trader Joe’s? Or Whole Foods? I think it is ridiculous that I have to drive into Atlanta to purchase fresh seafood and specialty items. By the lack of variety in Fayette County….one would think we live 100 miles from a major city.
