DEL.ICIO.USFayette will join in on National Earth Day

Did you know that April 22 is National Earth Day?
And according to an e-mail I received from my homeowner’s association, Fayetteville is doing their own version of the holiday from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, April 12, at the Fayette County Administrative Complex, at the corner of Ga. 85 and Ga.54.
The event, which is being sponsored by the Girl Scouts and Fayette County, will help have people talking about ecology and the environment. A variety of vendors and exhibitors will be on hand to provide information on the benefits of going green and promoting ways to incorporate organic and green ideas into everyday life. There will also be live music, food, and entertainment for the kids.
I think it’s a great idea, and I’ve been making my own contributions towards going green, such as using cloth bags instead of plastic for my groceries. I also recycle as much as I can, including cereal boxes, all glass and plastic items, and, of course, newspapers and magazines.
Now, I’m don’t want to sound like I’m patting myself on the back, I’m just doing what I can to make a difference. I really do believe every little bit counts.
