Competition for pizza lover heats up in Fayette
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
I want to talk about pizza - a food I absolutely love.
If you’re feeling a little down, it’s one of those things that can pick up your spirits, kind of like ice cream.
It’s not one of those items you usually eat by yourself. There’s just something about a pizza that makes for a gathering.
And here in Fayetteville, we have the usual pizza chains, including Papa Johns and Pizza Hut. But there’s a new pizza joint in town and if you’re hankering for a real New York/New Jersey style kind of pizza, I think this is as close as it gets.
The place is called Mangarelli’s and is owned by two guys from (ofcourse) New Jersey. And while I’m not from the Northeast, my husband is, and agrees if you’re looking for the East coast pizza pie, thin-crust-style, this is the place to get it.
I love the Margherita pizza, which is topped with fresh tomatoes and chunks of melted mozzarella. The Greek salad is also wonderful. It is located on Ga. 54 about a mile west of Ga. 85 next to a gym (I think the gym is called Maximum Output).
It’s open Monday through Saturdays for lunch and dinner and you owe it to yourself to check it out.
No doubt when you’re there you’ll hear some New York-eese sounding people. It kind of adds to the atmosphere. So, in conclusion, I have to say Mangarelli’s is my new favorite pizza joint in Fayetteville.
Where do you go when you want pizza in Fayetteville or Fayette County? And what’s your favorite type of pizza? Thin-crust? Thick crust? Veggie? Meat lovers?
