Can Clayton lure new businesses?

A few new businesses are trickling into Clayton County. At a time when much of the attention is focusing on problems in the school system, it’s refreshing to learn new jobs are being created. Read my latest blog entry on Wordpress

Reinvesting in Clayton

It’s hard to foresee a thriving fiscal future in an economy where so many jobs are lost on a daily basis.

Our proximity to the airport and Atlanta are good reasons that Clayton’s future looks promising.

According to an AJC article, our BOC would like to create a separate city using Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport as its focal point.

This city would include hotels, restaurants, shops, high-rise condominiums, office space and recreational activities. If Riverdale and Forest Park/Fort Gillem continue moving forward with their revitalization plans as well, this could be a rebirth for north Clayton.

If this plan works the way some commissioners envision, businesses will pay the brunt of taxes instead of property owners and create jobs in the process. Perhaps this redevelopment will become contagious and spread countywide.

In addition, although some residents are less than enthusiastic about the still in limbo Atlanta to Macon commuter rail, public transportation is a major fac tor in this strategy. While I don’t buy into the theory that public transportation brings crime this is one aspect I’m not thrilled about, whereas many residents are eager get on board ASAP.

What do you think about the possibility of Clayton becoming an “aerotropolis”?

Alright, since no one wants to kick it off, then I’ll go first. “Aerotropolis” will be a good way to restore Clayton County’s economy and bring back jobs, business, and a better class of citizenry!

I must disagree with Oh Please on this one. Or, maybe not. I can see where this type of development could help the economy, increase jobs, and improve the class of citizenry, but, the bad needs to be cleaned out first.

As long as Clayton County is overrun with crime, and lower class citizens the results of an “Aerotropolis” will be much the same as occurred when Atlanta renamed Stewart Avenue to Metropolitan Boulevard. If you throw a new coat of paint on a junk car it might look better, but, it will still be a junker. We must clean up the county first. We must lower the crime rates, eliminate the gangs from our schools and neighborhoods, and make this county a place where people want to live and work. We must raise the professionalism of the citizenry so that they will have the desire and work ethic to start new businesses, create new jobs, and be proud of where they live.

When the county is cleaned up and is an inviting place to live and work then the discussion can be had as to whether an “Aerotropolis” should be considered. Until then, we are blowing in the wind.

Many black , white Asian, Hispanic citizens can’t see the forest for the trees. Clayton Co. Is on the verge of becoming a “Mecca”!!! Only fools would leave now. Financially, rewards are forth coming. The Ford plant is about to BLOW UP in suburbia and money… Fort Gillum is about to blow up in conncentrated money. I hope all of you all leave and i will take advantage of all your properties and resources. Foolish >>>> Trouble don’t last always.. School board is now on track contrary to popular belief. the County commissioners see the light that is why we are having so many power struggles. A lot of uninspired people will be stuck with their thumbs up their bu!!@# if they are not progressive. The only jobs will be here i south fulton and clayton county. Rails are coming, tie in to the airport is enroute…. amusement parks (Disney) are looking.. hhhmmmm you all leave!!!!! Ignorance is everywhere. As to those euneducated morons that daily bash this county…. keep doing it idiots , those that talk theories with no facts and discourage the faithful few also continue on with your worthless nimble minds…. I’ll say one word to show you where we are going. Can you say ATL. remember europeans moved out of Atl and moved to the suburbs well that is what is happening now. Henry, Fayette, Rockdale will soon consider Clayton as theirs… Food for thought.

Your not realistic Get rid of the crime first..What an idiot. How do you do that ? reove all the people clean with Clorox and replace them with the type that you want.God allows the devil to roam and compete right…. or did i go to deep for you. Harmony can occurr with the good andd the bad.

Money and prestige bring about a different type of motivated citizenship. and these are the types of citizens we can attract. We will be dead and gone probably as the transition occurs its generational , you know…..I am a firm belliever that the school system is unfairly judged… You are what you raise…. two idiots will produce a lil idiot and an idiot’s environment will perpetuate and idiot behavior, idiot motivation level and an idiot expectation level. You can replace idiot with whatever word you want. Your Title 1 and low income school districts probably are better than your communities that have two educated parents raising their child in an educated and decent environment school districts. I wish there was a measurement of sorts.

Opportunist - I live in unincorporated Clayton County, I do not live in a gated community, and I sincerely hope I never do. I have worked hard to buy my home, properly raise my children, and I try to do right by the grandchildren. I help my neighbors when they need it. I try to keep my neighborhood clean and inviting. I live in Clayton, my business is in Clayton, and I have no desire to leave. I could if I so desired, but, I don’t.

I remember when one could leave their doors unlocked, and the keys in the ignition. I yearn for something akin to that again.

I hope you don’t really want this county to turn into another ATL. We can do so much better than that. You are correct that the new BOE is working better than before. As for the BOC, they have to be doing better than they have in the past. But, ATL should not be the goal. We can and must do better than that.

I have seen people marching to try to keep the accreditation of the schools, I have not seen these same marches to clean up neighborhoods. I do not see the citizens stepping forward to clean up the vacant lots, or to shut down the drug houses. I have not seen parents grab their own kids by the ear and drag them home when they are out of hand.

I have seen several people (could you be one of them) who are only in it for the money. The short term gain at the expense of the long term.

I believe this county got where it is because the citizens decided it was up to someone else to handle the problems. Maybe, we have been cooked like a frog. I think it’s time to jump out of the skillet and clean up the county. My body is no longer as limber as it once was, my joints creak, but I’m not dead yet. I am still willing to help out wherever I can. I’m not in this for short term gain, but for long term satisfaction. After you make your fortune here, what are you going to leave behind?

The postings by the blogger Michael at 5:12 P.M. and at 6:11 P.M. are so very true, factual, and directly on target about the present situation in Clayton County.

Clayton County right now is on a downward spiral already becoming a third world county and is presently a cesspool of crime, filth, gangs, section 8 low-class renters, ghetto low-class people, and criminally minded, drug dealing people from the closed down housing projects of Atlanta, Georgia.

Clayton County is full of corrupt, crooked, dishonest thieving, shady white and black elected officials and politicians such as the present Chairman Eldrin Bell, the previous Chairman of Clayton County Crandle Bray, previous Commissioner J. Charley Griswall, David Scott, and many others who already have their greedy, unclean, and corrupt hands in this “Aerotropolis” vision and well as the redevelopment of the Fort Gillem Army Base in Forest Park, Georgia and rest assured that they will do things that will benefit, enrich, and profit them and will do nothing for the citizens of Clayton County.

The majority of Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is in Clayton County but the city of Atlanta many years ago, took control of the airport and even though the airport is really in Clayton County, the city of Atlanta controls virtually everything associated with airport, makes virtually all of the major decisions regarding the airport, and takes virtually all of the revenue, monies, and profits from the airport.

The majority African (Black) American citizens who now populate Clayton County with some estimates being over 65 Percent are apathetic, naive, gullible, unwordly, unenlightened, simple-minded, unsophisticated, and show no interest in what these corrupt elected officials do as they continue to “pillage, loot, ravage, steal, rape, plunder, and strip” Clayton County of its land and natural resources.

As long as Clayton County is majority Black with no diversity, or high income people of all races with families moving in to settle in Clayton County, this county will not have this “Aerotropolis” or any positive, upscale, high-class luxurious, development because all Clayton County now is a county that is overrun will crime, drug dealing, gangs, Section 8 ghetto people from the city of Atlanta and until you get rid of all these low-class trash of people, and remove, demolish, raze, and destroy all of these ghetto apartment homes, mobile home parks, trailer home parks, extended stay hotels and motels that line Tara Boulevard from its starting point off of I-75 South at Exit 235 and continues all the way to the city of Lovejoy, that line the city of Riverdale, and College Park where along with Tara Boulevard that virtually all of the city of Atlanta’s trash are settling down to live and set up their criminal enterprises and organizations to committ criminal acts of robberies, stealing, carjacking, burglaries, mayhem, disorders, chaos, havoc, bedlam, and pandemonium.

If you doubt the comments that I have posted in this blog, just take a drive (in the daytime of course) on Tara Boulevard, Mount Zion Road, Battlecreek Road, Flint River Road, Valley Hill Road, Upper Riverdale Road, Webb Road, Frontage Road, State Highway 85 which runs right through the heart of the city of Riverdale, State Highways 138 and 139 which runs right through the cities of Riverdale and College Park, East Fayetteville Road, State Highway 54 and 42 which runs right through the city of Forest Park and many lesser known streets of Clayton County and you will see first hand all that I have written in this posting about the nasty, filthy, grimey, cluttered, dilapidated, run-down, falling apart, decrepit, ramshackle, and decayed apartment homes, homes, mobile home parks, and buildings for yourself.

At present, Clayton County has well over 200 Apartment Homes and over 22 Mobile Home and Trailer Home Parks. Most of the mobile home and trailer home parks are located behind the businesses on Tara Boulevard. They house mostly the illegal Hispanic population and also houses Clayton County’s Hispanic gang population. These trailer homes are the true ghettos of Clayton County and they should all be comdemned, demolished, and destroyed.

The Hispanic Gangs have already gang tagged the deserted National Spa and Carpet Mill Outlet Buildings on Tara Boulevard. This gang tagging has been on these buildings for over four months and none of Clayton County’s Elected Officials will not get it off.

The sad reality of Clayton County is that Clayton County is not only a visually visible, and unsightly, dirty, nasty, filthy, trashy, polluted, grimey, cluttered, ghetto, third-world, low class, crime, drug, and gang infested, filled, and overrun county but also virtually all of its elected politicians and officials are dishonest, corrupt, dirty with unclean hands, noncaring about the concerns that their constituents have, do-nothing, ignorant acting, unintelligent, clueless, immoral, unethical, and lacking in integrity, honesty, and character.

The facts are the facts, it is what it is, the truth is the truth, what is already here is already here, and these are the sad, pathetic, and real truths about Clayton County and its present population of people.

This is what is happening all throughout Clayton County and one can be optimistic, positive, hopeful, confident, and look on the bright side that Clayton County will become an “Aerotropolis” with high-end and upscale hotels, restaurants, shopping places, expensive homes and subdivisions and condominiums but it will not happen until Clayton County gets rid of all of these Section 8 low class, criminally minded people from the housing project ghettos of Atlanta, Georgia, tear down and destroy all of its glut and massive proliferation of apartment homes, extended stay hotels and motels, mobile and trailer home parks, town homes, run-down and low-class businesses, strip malls, “bling bling” businesses, and change the image that other people who live outside of Clayton County in that Clayton County is a third-world, low class, dirty, filthy, nasty, trash infested, crime, gang, and drug infested, filled, and overrun, ghetto, gangster, thuggish, unlivable, corrupt, crooked, unclean, seedy, run-down, unattractive, undesirable, and unlivable place to move to live, work, play, and raise a family.

The Facts are the Facts - I think your first paragraph indicates you agree with what I said. If so, thank you for that.

As to the rest of your post, I can’t figure out what you are talking about. Perhaps, a few less adjectives might clarify your thoughts a little, and, it would definitely make your posting more readable. Just a friendly thought.

Michael, he always does that “dirty, filthy, nasty, trash infested, crime, gang, and drug infested, filled, and overrun, ghetto, gangster, thuggish, unlivable, corrupt, crooked, unclean, seedy, run-down, unattractive”,etc. It’s assinine and he does it all the time under different names. It’s all true, but it’s a tough read.

I havent’t posted in quite some time. I get sad when I see what has happened to our county. It is time someone, anyone took notice they we are living in trash and garbage. Some of you laugh, but when you get your tax bill, it may not be funny. It is time for our code enforcement to stay busy. You say we need funds, write more tickets to get this mess cleaned up.

Everyone should keep the junk cars out of their yards. Mow the weeds and get rid of the old tires that litter everywhere. You have pit bulls fenced in and barking day and night. Why? no ever plays with the dogs. Are they to protect you? Your house looks like a garbage dump.

It would take very little to solve so many problelms. Put a notice in the local paper that all code enforcement officers will be writing tickets everyday. Make the fines heavy to get everyones attention. Help all the citizens of Clayton County who wish to live like normal humans not pigs.

When the chairman ran for reelection he promised to clean up Clayton County. He has not kept his promise. Lets remind him that this is one more promise he as broken.

Concerned Clayton Citizen - Pardon me for taking exception with your thought process. Why do you want Code Enforcement to write tickets and impose hefty fines on those who may already be in financial straights? Do you think the little old lady who lives next door can push a mower through those weeds anymore? Do you think that the vacant house that is the product of a foreclosure has a resident who will get out there and clean up the yard? Why not gather your friends and neighbors together for a neighborhood clean up day? Go and mow those weeds, pick up those tires, and help to improve your neighborhood. Yes, you may incur some expense, gas for your mower or weed eater, or you might even get a blister from raking up those leaves, maybe some sore places from doing the physical labor.

You may also recieve some benefits, a little cameraderie with your neighbors, perhaps. Maybe, the little old lady will give you a thank you and a glass of sweet tea with homemade cookies. The only definite is that your neighborhood will be better.

If you are waiting for government to improve your life you will find that you may be waiting for a long time. Government is not the answer, in fact, it may be part of the problem.

Is the BOC aware of the fact that the developers of Atlantic Station bought the property that used to house the Ford plant in Hapeville and plan on developing an “aerotropolis” there? Last I knew, Hapevile is part of Fulton County, and I really don’t think there’s room for two.

The lights are on and no one is home in Clayton County. When I heard the proposal for the school system to spend $70,000 to put school bus drivers and monitors in uniforms to avoid terrorists hijacking the school busses, I realize that I have no future in Clayton County.

What about those trailer parks behind the businesses on tara Blvd? They are very unsightly…can you name another attractive city in metro atlanta whose main street has trailer parks on it?

How do you propose we solve that problem?

The facts are fact poster is annoying..but if you cut through the escessive adjectives their is plenty of truth to what he or she is saying.

Do you think people would want to move to Atlanyic station if trailer parks were behind their apartments?

The BOC just keeps getting dumber and dumber

  • They sue each other

  • They hire the wirdest people

  • They don’t attack the core problems in the county…low income residents, unkepts roads, crime, schools.

  • I need to see a BIG clean up Clayton initiative and te demolotion of some of these extended stay motels, trailer parks and run down homes.

  • If it were left tothe BOC we would still have these Asian prositution Spas on Tara.

  • The REAL problem with leadership is that you have little to choose from…If you didn’t elect the corrupt eldrin bell, you’d have elected the even more corrupt Lee Scott.

We need people from Fayette or North fulton who have sense to run for office down here. Give them a house in Lake Spivey so they can establish residency and let them help make our county as good as those others.

They obviously have more money and power than Clayton whites. I surely feel sorry for Clayton’s little destitute whites. They can’t even pack up and leave the county! Their ignorant! They’ve had over 400 years to build and maintain wealth. Yet, they squandered the profits gained on the backs of my folks; all the blood, sweat and tears. Now they must wallow in the black cesspool with me. While the ATL and Fulton whites grew and prospered. Clayton’s whites must be inbred! Instead of an Aerotropolis; why not a “Negrotroplis”.

Let’s kill this racist/prejudice talk for a min and really look at what the real issue is.

We have Trotter on here throwing out the race card every other blog post and most likely him responding to himself to stoke the coals.

The whole issue that’s going on in Clayton County plain and simple is greed. Why do we have the trailer parks in Clayton County off of Tara Blvd, Tara Rd and McDonough Rd? Money!! Do people realize how much residual income is made off of poor Whites, Blacks and Hispanics living in these trailer parks? Please!!! That is a generational wealth builder if I ever saw one. Why won’t they go away? Find out who owns the land that they are on and that will tell you……hint, hint……former commissioners.

Now truth be told and its a harsh truth the only way that things are going to change in Clayco is

  • There must be a property tax increase. We still have some of the lowest taxes in the region and with the loss of business and the downturn in the economy its has to happen. A word to the wise to the commission is not to do so until after accreditation is restored hopefully in April.

  • The division of HUD in Clayco needs to be investigated. I would love to know how much money is coming in and going out and to whom. Why is it that different counties in the region are tightening their reigns yet our division in Clayco has the Red Carpet out for the next round of Atlanta Housing project closings. Why don’t they start tightening the reigns on their standards going forward and enforce the ones already in place. There needs to be some type of communication between the Clayco PD/Sheriffs Dept and disturbances or calls for HUD/Section tenants. Basically you break the law you need to bounce!! Get to steppin’ cause we don’t need that in our community.

  • We need to keep our Commissioners honest. Right now we have some big talk about an “Aerotropolis”. I first heard this plan when Eldrin Bell was campaigning for re-election. Think about this people. Yes its a great concept, but let’s look at who the players involved would be. Yes we need reinvestment but we need honest reinvestment and not any setting themselves up for a payday.

  • Forensic Audit!!! There was talk about this but then it died down and I wonder why?!! The county still doesn’t know how much money we have!!! Don’t get distracted Clayco!!! This crap that has been going on in county gov’t far too long and we still have a bunch of leeches outside of gov’t feeding off the local gov’t and we need to dry up that t**.

  • Those who do give a *amn about the County need to do the little things to invest back in your county. As Michael said help your neighbor out. If you have a neighbor with a barking dog all night long call that crap in and document it. Do the little things and you will see bigger thing develop from it.

  • If we want others to invest in our county we need to invest in our county ourselves. Take care of your home, discipline your kids, take care of your neighborhoods and keep our politicians honest.

The neighbors that the blogger Michael speaks about are the main ones who have the criminally minded and active youth, young adult, and teen-agers whom their parents cannot control, do not take the time to discipline, and do not care what their teen-ager or teen-agers are doing and who they are hanging out with and are the ones doing criminal acts of vandalism, robberies, burglaries, stealing, and terrorizing their neighbors.

Also, many of your so called “neighbors” are Section 8 ghetto families renters who are renting the home with their Section 8 housing and renter’s voucher that they receive from the Atlanta Housing Authority and was welcomed with open arms by the CORRUPT, CROOKED, DO-NOTHING, JONESBORO HOUSING AUTHORITY who do not, will not, and do not care to enforce the rules, regulations, guidelines, and protocols that govern the Section 8 Program in Clayton County as dictated to them by the federal government.

In the eyes of other people who live in the Metropolitian Atlanta, Georgia surrounding counties, they all feel (and they are so right) that Clayton County is a county that will never improve, get back on the right track, is full of corrupt, crooked, and thieving elected officials and politicans both black and white, overrun with all of Atlanta, Georgia’s ghetto trash Section 8 Familities, Youths, Young Adults, and Teen-Agers who the Atlanta Housing Authority is dumping in Clayton County as the Clayton County Board Of Commissioners look the other way and do not care, and is essentially a county that is on a downward spiral, free fall into the pit and abyss of crime, gang, and drug dealing criminals and people who live the criminal way and do not respect nor care about the laws, rules, and regulations that one must live by.

Clayton County is one of the absolute, if not the absolute worst county to live in the state of Georgia and it is so sad that the past and present population of people who live in Clayton County from the White people to the black people who make up the majority of the population in Clayton County to its crooked and corrupted white and black elected officials who do not care about this county and only ran for public office to only enrich and profit themselves and not help and work for the people of Clayton County.

If any high-end, well established, well financed, deep pockets, multi-million or multi-billion dollar businesses come down to locate their companies here or to invest in some venture like the “Aerotropolis” vision that has been written about in The Atlanta Journal And Constitution, The Clayton News Daily, and in today’s Clayton Neighbor Newspaper, they will first look at the overall look, stability, and environment of Clayton County, its tax base, the people who populate the county, the racial makeup, the income levels, the neighborhoods, the available housing and whether or not it is upscale with executive level homes, the county’s school system, the county’s hospital, the crime rate of the county and whether or not it is a safe, inviting, appealing, attractive, and desirable place where their kind of people whether they be Black, White, Hispanic, Indian, Asian, Japanese, etc. would want to move to live, work, play, raise their children, and live out the rest of their lives there.

When the executives and their scout teams come into Clayton County and start at the main street that runs through the heart of Clayton County which is Tara Boulevard, when they exit off of I-75 South at Exit 235 where Tara Boulevard starts, they will immediately see as they ramp off of the highway, the vast, decimated, torn up, and laid bare and raw, the land where the dirt was taken up by the Stephens Company for the airport, the landfill nearby, and the rows of mobile trailor home parks.

As they pass the Arrowhead Shopping Center on the right hand side, if they look very close, they will see the ghetto looking, falling apart, and dilapidated trailor home parks with the people who live their living in filth, trash, squalor, with Hispanic Gang Graffiti writings on the dumpsters and on the back of the buildings.

As they continue to travel down Tara Boulevard and as they look around, they will began to see the numerous and glut of apartment homes and extended stay hotels with the bad and unkempt landscaping with uncut and high grass and the trash that is all over the place and bare and raw areas of dirt where the grass has been torn out.

They will see the many low-end storefront businesses that have dumpsters full of overflowing trash out front in full view of the hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people who travel down Tara Boulevard daily as this major state highway also goes through Henry County, Spalding County, Butts County, Lamar County, and well to Columbus, Georgia.

They will also see these low-end ghetto looking storefront stores with their windows cluttered and nasty looking and clutter outside of their stores, espically the sham car repair places with their dirty tires and broken down cars in front, also with their place not cleaned or kept up.

As they continue to go down Tara Boulevard, they will start to see the service gas stations in disrepair and as you pass the Chick-Fil-A Restaurant and look on the right side, you will see the vacant and empty Tara Center Building and then the vacant and empty Carpet Mill Outlet Building and the vacant and empty National Spa Building which right now has Hispanic Gang Graffitti Writing on its front side as well as the side of the building, also in full view of everyone who travels down Tara Boulevard. This gang graffiti has been on the building for well over four months and the Clayton County Board Of Commissioners with its SORRY, INCOPETENT, UNQUALIFIED,and DO-NOTHING Chairman Eldrin A. Bell have done nothing about it.

As they pass the National Spa Building and the Race Track service station, they will see in full view the Tara Mobile Home Park with the deteriorating, damaged, crumbling, falling apart sign that list the mobile park’s name and the telephone number.

Also, the group will see the numerous business signs all throughout Tara Boulevard that are deteriorating, damaged, crumbling, and falling apart.

As they drive past the Hoops and Shoot basketball gym, they will more of the many criminally and suspicious looking youths, young adults, and teen-agers with sagging and falling down pants, long same colored tee-shirts, oversized hooded sweaters and jackets, wearing lots and lots of bling-bling jewelry, hands-in-pockets, and looking menacing, threatening, and intimidating ready to rob, steal, accost, carjack, and do other dangerous criminal actions and bodily harm to anyone who cross their paths. This is what they see as they drive down the length of Tara Boulevard.

When they look at the Clayton County Public School System, they will see that our school system is unaccreditated and a school system still in turmoil with one school board member Attorney Michael King on the verge of being removed by his other school board members and colleagues.

When they study and look in depth at the crime statistics from the Clayton County Police Department, they will see that for a population of Clayton County’s size (Clayton County has a population of well over 280,000 People and this is only counting the people who legally live here and does not include the numerous illegal aliens of Hispanic people who are the ones living in the over 22 Trailor Home and Mobile Home Parks all throughout Clayton County) we do not have enough police officers for a county this size and they will see a crime rate that is through the “roof” with a 8 Percent increase in the Robbery rate, a 29 Percent increase in the Burglary rate, a 20 Percent increase in the Theft rate, a 2 Percent increase in the Crimes Against Persons rate, a 19 Percent increase in the Crimes Against Property rate, and basically, they will see a county that is overrun with crimes, gangs, and drug dealers.

Lastly, they will see a population of people in Clayton County who just accept things the way they are, are unaware of what is really happening in Clayton County, do not care about Clayton County when they are told the truth about Clayton County, they will see a population that is only 35 Percent Owners of their homes and a population that is 65 Percent renters which are mostly Section 8 Ghetto people from the Metropolitian Atlanta, Georgia area living in the over 200 Apartment and Town Homes and over 22 Trailor Home and Mobile Home Parks in Clayton County and they will not only see a people who just apathetic, ignornat, accepting of anything, unwilling to do anytning, tolerant, passive, submissive, complacent, docile, and yielding to anything, but they will see the elected officials and politicians of Clayton County who do not care about its citizens and are all about enriching, profiting, and benefiting themselves.

What I have written in this lengthy posting in the Clayton County of right now today and Clayton County will continue to remain this way and just get worse and worse on a continual downward spiral and free fall until a major change for the better occurs but this will only occur when you get a new class of people with money, wealth, and high socioeconomic status of all races, Black, White, Asian, Hispanic, Indian, Japanese, etc. who will band together and be the majority population in Clayton County instead of the present sorry, lazy, on the government payroll, do-nothing renter Section 8 ghetto, gangster, thug, and criminal living people that presently populate Clayton County.

    To young black man -

I am also a person with a low-income. People, in general, have become complacent and uncaring. They don’t care about themselves or their children, let alone, their community. They all abuse the system for their own selfish gain, in one form or another. Either they abuse the system for money or they abuse the system for power which equates to more money. There is no definitive label for people like that and therefore they are called “low-class” or “low-income”. Rest assured, however, that if you are doing all that you can to lift yourself up from your circumstance, then on a personal level, you will be respected. It is always a sad situation when the few suffer for the actions and choices of the majority. All that you can do to combat is to do the best you can for yourself. Keep your head up! It will get better.

Kim, do you ‘groan’ like I do at how every one of your blogs turns into rants and raves about the BOE, Trotter, section 8, trailer parks, massage parlors, KKK, Uncle Tom E. Bell, white power structure, ad nauseum?

“…What do you think about the possibility of Clayton becoming an “aerotropolis”?…”

That might happen by 2050. I agree we need a “vision” of redevelopment of north Clayton. It starts with the old Ford plant development. It would take a major tie-in with that and the airport via light rail and a major roadway. It would need light rail to ATL. Possibly major clearing and redevelopment of the entire area north of Forest Parkway. Ft Gillem might be a good spot; but it’s too far from Hartsfield. I’d prefer Ft Gillem to be given over to at least 50% green space/park usage. That would draw a more up-scale development.

Yes, our county needs to be “cleaned up”. But, the BOC also has to look to the future. I commend them, and you, for getting the conversation started.

John Stewart and the Commentor are SPOT ON!!!

Come on people! Clayton is the armpit of the ATL and things are GETTING WORSE!!! Clayton’s unemployment rate is almost at 10%. Just like its foreclosure rate (lol)! I just checked median home sales prices on the AJC yesterday and Clayton’s is about $40,000 LESS than the rest of Metro Atlanta. Why? Because of all the trashy, thug, criminally-minded and not school-minded, Section-8 low rent indiviuals that have swarmed Clayton. Do your own research and know it is so!

Don’t shoot the messenger! Become informed citizens!!! Many of you who think the Commentor is a blowhard, get a reality check! The facts are the facts and they are all TRUE! Fact is: no progressive person (of any race) looking to invest their time, money, energy, efforts, family, and well being, would in their right mind: relocate, live, purchase, settle, invest, occupy, rent, lease, or move (lol) to Clayton County.

Rev. Bourbon and Earl (don’t forget that Earl is the world’s most famous lay prophet) told me about this blog at our Tithing Strong in Recessionary Times Conference held at the Ritz in Malibu this week. They told me that sometimes it can be fun. Pastor Kenny the Squirrell told me that he just didn’t have time for such foolishness because he had too many acorns to gather, pressed-down-and-overflowing. Evangelist Tommy Joe (Slick) Elrod admonished me not to squander my time because he said it’s the same guy on here writing all of the blogs. I think that Slick is right. I just glanced at the blogs, and I can easily see that it’s one sad soul writing to himself, engaging in a fictitious dialogue with himself, and, quite frankly, it’s boring. Aerotropolis? Yes, Miss Kimberly, I would like to see this. When I fly back on forth from my many Prosperity Crusades, I would like to be able to de-compress at a little sidewalk cafe near the Fifth Runway (and inhale a few fumes). I could then drink a little cup of expresso at a quaint Italian cafe. I could share my profits with DOCTOR Dollar (hey, I’m gonna get ORU to give me one of those doctorates; you reckon a big donation will secure me one? How does Dr. McCracken sound compared to Bishop McCracken? What about the Bishop Doctor McCraken?). Eldrin Bell is ordained. He could set up a Men of the Cloth Boutique and let Bishop Newton and run it. They could see Earl Paulk-type collars, fancy and colorful robes, gold, dollar-sign-type bling blings for the deacons who take up the obligatory tithes, etc. I have a great idea for the name! Bells & Starrs! Woleeeeeeeeeee! I’m getting excited about this Aerotropolis! I am for real. No ugly gasoline stations, checks-cashed-here centers, etc. And, what is best is that it will revolutionize our image. Isn’t 80% of this busiest airport in the world located in Clayton County? How did the control of it ever get turned over to Atlanta? Did money exchange hands? When is Clayton County gonna get back control of its own land? After all, Clayco is the New Atlanta. I hope illicit monies do not interfere with a worthwhile project. Yes, Miss Kimberly, I would like to see this Aerotropolis emerge. We can call it Phoenix City…out of the ashes, Clayco emerges! All hail to Eldrin Bell for his glorious prescience!

    February 19, 2009 1:51 PM | Link to this

I want to clarify the statement when I said that I have done research on Clayton County for the last ten years.

I have lived in Clayton County for over fourteen years and the research I mentioned is seeing first hand, the rapid decline in this county that started occuring as early as 1998 as the housing project people were beginning to get pushed out of the numerous Atlanta, Georgia projects because as massive amounts of money flowed into the city of Atlanta, the city leaders and the Atlanta Housing Authority under the leadership of Renee Glover devised a plan to get them out as quick as possible.

They did this because the land that the ghetto looking, old, run-down, crime and drug infested housing project communities sat on was prime real estate property at strategic location points throughout the city of Atlanta worth millions and millions of dollars so they got money from HUD to tear down these blighted and decayed housing projects communities and they built in its place luxurious, spacious, appealing, and attractive looking mixed use community housing.

They kept the law abiding, law respecting, and progressive Section 8 People and families and the others that were lazy, welfare kings and queens, sorry, no-good, and did want to get off of their backsides and get a job, they gave them Federal Government Housing Vouchers that they could use anywhere in Georgia to find afforable housing whether it be in apartment homes or brick-and-mortar homes.

Clayton County during this time period (the mid 1990’s) built and built massive amounts of super afforable homes and apartment buildings all throughout Clayton County and did not built any executive level homes (homes that start in price over $500,000 dollars) like the homes in Lake Spivey.

Because Clayton County had a glut of homes at super affordable prices, as The Atlanta Housing Authority was pushing out all of these people, the only place they could go was to Clayton County because they could not go to Fayette County or Henry County because the homes were too expensive and these counties did not have near the apartment homes that Clayton County did.

This is why Clayton County is the way it is with the majority of these people located in the cities of Riverdale, College Park, Forest Park, and in the unincorporated areas of Clayton County near the city of Lovejoy, etc.

Clayton County is in dire terrible straits because of the massive problems of crime, criminal activities that go on every day in this county, gangs and gang activities in the Clayton County Public School Systems, the low quality of people who move into this county each and every day.

Clayton County is the third smallest county in the state of Georgia, but its present population is well over 280,000 people and this is only counting the legal citizens and not the illegal citizens that are here.

In comparison, Fayette County is approximately three to four times larger than Clayton County, but its popluation of people is a little over 150,000.

Henry County is approximately seven to eight times larger than Clayton County and its population of people is over 185,000 people.

This is one of the main reasons that Clayton County is a very dirty, nasty, cluttered, grimey, and filthy place in that Clayton County is a over crowded county with the people squeezed into a small condensed space and area and when you combine this with a subhuman and low class of people that represents the absolute bottom pit of Section 8 people and families who virtually destroyed the ghetto projects and housing communities that they came from which was from Atlanta, Georgia, you have wwhat you have in Clayton County which is a county overrun with low class, noncaring, disrespectful, violent prone, vandalistic, law breaking group and class of people who have already essentially destroyed Clayton County in that this county is the bane, laughingstock, and riducle of everyone living in the other counties of the state of Georgia.

Clayton County has been destroyed by its past white elected officials and politians who essentially sold this county “down the river” like past County Manager and the Chairman C. Crandle Bray, past long-time Commissioner and Chairman and the Mastermind of this whole thing J.Charley Griswall, along with past state politicans Bob Lee, Terrell Starr, Jimmy Benefield, past Commissioner Gerald Matthews, and its present black politicians and elected officials Chairman Eldrin Bell, Congressman David Scott, Representatives Darryl Jordan, former Representative Wade Starr, and others who have benefited, profited, and enriched themselves in one way or another and helped to harm Clayton County and along with many others, have made Clayton County arguably the absolute worst county to live in the state of Georgia.

The only way any investors will ever come into Clayton County to invest, build, and put money into Clayton County is that if they tear down every filthy, nasty, blighted, dirty, decayed, and deteriorated low-end businessed, strip malls, trailor and mobile home parks, apartment homes, extended stay motels and hotels, virtually everything in the cities of Riverdale and College Park and just start building from the ground up just like the Atlanta Housing Authority did with their ghetto housing project communities, then and only then will you see investment in Clayton County and a positive turnaround for the better in this county.

Sooner or later one or the other is going to kill a member of the other race. I noticed that one of his myriad of “posters” this morning was under the moniker of “JT,” which is supposted to make the readers believe that John Trotter wrote this. This lonely blogger is apparently fixated on John Trotter, Glenn Dowell, Bob Hartley, Norreese Haynes, David Barton, Eldrin Bell, Wade Starr, et al. He evidently has no “life,” and is trying to suck the marrow out of this internet site to find some meaning. As a bishop, I kindly encourage him to turn to Jesus, and I will continue to pray for him. I have to run. The bishops, reverends, pastors, and priests are meeting at Golden Corral on Tara for MMM (Monthly Ministerial Meeting). Steak wrapped in bacon! Do not show your ignorance and stupidity by posting on things that you cannot control such as my putting my postings in big black bold print.

I choose to put my postings in big black bold print because I choose to and this is no business of yours.

You do not choose to put your postings in big black bold print because you choose not to and that is your business.

I could care less as to whether or not you choose to read my postings because they are in big black bold print so in my opinion, there was no reason to make the statement you made stating that you scroll down and do not read the postings of bloggers and posters that blog by this method.

    * My strong and sincere advise is that you stick to blogging and posting your opinions, thoughts, and viewpoints on the subject matter on the blogmaster Kimberly Allen’s blog topic for the week and waste your precious time making stupid, idiotic, and moronic comments that you made about how I choose to put my postings in big black bold print and whether or not you read my postings.*

My postings that I have place on Kimberly Allen’s topic this week are true, factual, on point, and anyone who cares to drive all around Clayton County in its unincorporated areas, and its cities of Riverdale, College Park, Forest Park, Lake City, Jonesboro, Morrow, and Lovejoy will see all of this and much, much, more on the negative look, appearance, and environment of Clayton County.

CC Black Residents are perhaps the STUPIDEST people in the metro region. You Blacks are the ONLY County School System in America that allows a Hand Picked Ethic Commission to “Dictate what your Elected Officials can and can’t do or say. Sonny don’t abide by his Ethics Commission. Dubya Bush didn’t abide by his Ethic Commission. Now, this Big Head White Boy oversees your School Board. He’s running things at CCBOE! Now how UNETHICAL IS THAT! A Big Head White Boy running your school system, look at the Demographics=According to CCPS Spokesperson Jacqueline Evans, the Clayton’s school system’s current data show the ethnic breakdown of the student population to be 72.54 percent black; 14.74 percent Hispanic; 4.46 percent Asian or Pacific Islander; 4.39 percent white; 3.75 percent multi-racial, and 0.09 percent American Indian or Alaska Native. Now he and Elgart stand with their foot on the little Black child’s neck= accreditation! Saying you blacks better act right or else! What is the MOTIVE= it ain’t good! Money & Power!
