Can Clayton lure new businesses?

A few new businesses are trickling into Clayton County. At a time when much of the attention is focusing on problems in the school system, it’s refreshing to learn new jobs are being created. Read my latest blog entry on Wordpress

If you don’t vote, don’t complain

Paging the 88 percent of Clayton residents who did not show up at the polls last Tuesday: What happened? You were missed!

How embarrassing that so very few residents voted, particularly for school board candidates given the accreditation mess. SACS required more community involvement in CCPS in order to save accreditation, and I’ll bet the low voter turnout wasn’t very impressive to them, either.

I wonder if this is why the remaining school board members refuse to resign. If we don’t show up to vote school board members in/out given the circumstances, they probably suspect we come out to sign a recall petition.

For those who cannot take off work to vote in primaries and for many other situations, you may vote via Absentee Ballot which will require a little time and effort on your part, but should not interfere with your job. Absentee ballot applications must be received at the Board of Elections by Friday, August 1 at 7 p.m. Applying ASAP is best since the ballot itself must be received at the BOE by 7 p.m. on Election Day, which is August 5 and now less than two weeks away.

If a resident is disabled, in the military or 75 years of age or older AND checked off the appropriate box on their July 5 absentee ballot application, he/she will automatically receive a runoff ballot i n the mail.
Advance Voting will take place Monday, July 28 through Friday, August 1 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Six advance voting sites are listed on Clayton’s official website.

If you are already a registered voter, you may vote in the August 5 runoff election even if you did not vote in the primary.

Only those who voted democrat will be eligible to vote on August 5. In addition to electing school board members, there are several important positions up for grabs, and every single vote will matter.

Did you vote in the primary? If not, will you vote on August 5? If you don’t vote, you have no right to complain.

I can’t wait for August 5th! Finally, we can show the Scotts and Hill the door. I just really would love to see the turn out on August 5th blow everyone away. I’m hoping for an 88/12 split this time instead of a 12/88. Call me an optimist!

I thought that the law required employers to give their employees time off to vote?
I advanced voted. It was so nice since I have two kids. They could run around and not be a disruption to other voters since I was the only one voting at the time. Don’t forget if you didn’t vote in the primary you can vote in the run offs. There is time for you to redeem yourselves!

I almost feel it is a waste to tell people on ajc.com that they need to vote. Most likely the people who didn’t show up are those that never pay attention to anything and do not care. They do not read the paper, watch the news, or attend community meetings. They have no clue what is going on. The apathy in this county won’t change until it blows up in our face. Metaphorically speaking, sometimes no matter how many times you warn people that the stove is hot, they will not believe you until they touch it and get burned. I think Clayton may get burned.

Well, I have to say that I was apathetic for years until recently. I never voted, let alone in the local elections, and probably would not have this year until the stories on the AJC and television news got my attention. Miss Kimberly, your blog has been extremely helpful for me, and has given me a new zeal for supporting my county in all the ways that I can. Or maybe, I just got older and got a little wiser. Either way, thank you Miss Kimberly for all that you do!

Could you Hill supporters please give specific examples of what he has done for our county?

So far, the most I can get out of anyone is he makes inmates face the wall when he walks by and we don’t have a problem with loud music anymore.

First of all, I could care less about which way inmates face when the sheriff walks by. How does that reduce crime? It’s a little like closing the barn after the cow is out, isn’t it?

Second of all, I still hear loud music at every stop light, stop sign and every other car that drives down my street. Maybe Victurd has deputies patrolling the streets in favored neighborhoods, but not in mine.

What I do care about is property taxes, and if he continues to be sued and settlements continue to be awarded, I will no longer be able to afford to pay my taxes. I have a feeling those of you who think he’s so great are renters and could care less about property taxes.

I agree that well known persons can be easy targets for lawsuits, but use your head. Do you think state and federal courts would allow poor Victurd to be sued over and over again for no reason whatsover? HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! PEOPLE ARE WINNING THESE LAWSUITS AGAINST HIM!!!

My opinion of Victurd the demented dwarf is not based on media reports. I don’t make judgements without PROOF and neither should you!

So start giving me some PROOF of what a great job he’s doing…

Yes Still a Hill Supporter - vending machine money.

Read one of the recent (notice “one of the recent”) lawsuits against your buddy brought by none other than the ACCOUNTING MANAGER of his office. Read what she has to say about Victurd’s ILLEGAL use of vending machine money and other money as well.

All you can do is dispute the evidence - but you have none of your own to support your candidate. All smoke and mirrors - just like the demented dwarf…

Also - since you mention the Klan - what is it that the Klan is doing to blacks in Clayton County? There are many, intelligent, well-educated blacks in Clayton County who own their own homes, take pride in their property and are concerned with their children’s education and the leadership of our county. How is it that the Klan allows that to go on?

I guess the Klan only picks on the poor, uneducated, no parent households where the children roam in gangs with guns stuffed down their baggy pants?

Oh sorry! Did you think I meant you?

From the Mole Net:

Yesterday morning, Saturday 19 July 2008 sinister and nefarious forces of Lee Scott, Jewel Scott, Victor Hill, Angela Redding, Laurence Ethridge and Edward Montrel Hobbs (Hobbs is the individual not long ago, Victor attempted to hire but had an outstanding warrant in Fulton County; Ethridge is being rehired (remember he retired due to the harassment allegations) by Victor and he and Hobbs will be Victors new/old bodyguards) met in a cloaked and secret session at the Church on Roy Huie Road. Also in attendance were other hand-selected employee’s of Clayton County Government.

The topic of discussion was winning reelection and the strategy to do so.

The way forward is to send vans into neighborhoods to pickup citizens. Prior to getting into the van they will gain “commitment” from those citizens to vote “properly”.

They will be given voting “guides” in the vans and verbal instructions on what to do once in the polling place. This will take place in the Scott & Hill area’s that are considered strongholds as they have already pulled those records from the Elections Office.

Once the vote has taken place, voters will receive “an offer of services” for their vote.

The baleful attempt at voter influence led by Lee Scott, supported by the individuals mentioned above, will also be sending out absentee ballots to select voters along with voting guides “assisting them” in choosing the correct candidate to vote for…absentee. These voters must also commit to a proper vote and will then get “an offer of service”.

The quotes are included for a simple reason. Smacks of voter fraud and influence peddling.

PUT THAT ON A VOICE STRESS ANALYZER!, And

Victorina’s (Victor) in a state of panic and he is very mad at his camp. More panicked than mad.

He has fired key staff from his campaign because “they have failed him and he should have won outright”. His new Campaign manager is Jonothan Newton. Newton is in control of every aspect of the campaign now.

Mr. Newton will splitting his time between 1. The campaign 2. His CCSO clerk girlfriend who has been passed around the entire office 3. His child and wife who he’s cheating on and has just left while in the midst of figting a serious bout of breast cancer.

Yet another stand up individual in the Hill Camp who ultimately will be going to jail with him later on down the line.

They are going on a door to door “grassroots” voter program identifying their strongholds and specifc people one by one to vote on V-day. Very much like the strategy I gave Kem days ago which I would cut and paste but can’t remember where I posted it for those that remember.

It will be two camps employing essentially the same strategies. It’s just a matter of who wants it more at this point.

We have to support Kem likes it’s the air we breath people. I can’t think of how to describe it any better.

Morrow Man,

All that I see is that you are grossly misinformed and truthfully don’t care to be informed. You want him elected because you met him and he acted as if he cared about you, but he doesn’t. It’s obvious that you are young and impressionable. You choose to make judgements based on opionion rather than logic. Experience teaches you that if it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it is a duck. Victor has proven that he is self-serving (campaigning at tornado site), manipulative (Cassels’ lawsuit), and vindictive (making unscheduled shift change after employee testified against him in Cassels’ lawsuit). There is a number of other “spins”, as you like to call them, that one could label his actions, but the fact of the matter is had he not taken these actions in the first place there would not be anything to “spin”.

You are right about one thing. No one can make you change your mind if it is already made up. But, unlike others who have attacked you, I am trying to approach you civilly with logic. If you refuse to be open to what I have to say, then you are choosing to remain ignorant. Never have I said that your opinion was wrong. All I have asked is that you expound on your opinion so that I can fully understand why you feel that way. Otherwise, my judgements of Victor Hill will be based strictly on his actions as I see them. I cannot see your point of view if you don’t offer it.

To all the Victor Hill supporters. In 2004 the U.S. was in a mess & the majority of the people in the U.S. still voted for George Bush. Now, in 2008 the U.S. is in a bigger mess. His approval rating is at an all time low, twenty something percent. It will take this country years and years to clean up his mess. Same scenario for Victor Hill. If he gets back in office, the next four years will be unbearable & it will take this county years & years to clean up the mess (if possible) he created. And don’t call on Sonny Perdue or whoever may be in office at the time, to bail you out of the mess. To the people who will be voting for Victor Hill, and he gets back in office, you guys deserve exactly what you get.

Your district attorney doing her best spin job

Names thrown, claims contested in DA race By Daniel Silliman

One week into a runoff campaign, the two candidates for Clayton County District Attorney are hitting hard, galvanized in aggressive opposition.

Incumbent District Attorney Jewel Scott sent out a mailer calling her opponent, Juvenile Court Judge Tracy Graham Lawson, a “hanging judge.” Lawson accused Scott, who is black, of “race baiting” and “lies.”

Both women say the other doesn’t have the experience to run the prosecutor’s office, and both are pretty confident they will win on Aug. 5.

“I have no doubt that this community wants to keep me as the D.A.,” Scott said.

“She’s got all the votes she’s going to get and she’s not going to get any more,” Lawson said. “I’m very optimistic about the outcome now.”

In a three-way race in the Democratic primary, with Riverdale attorney Herbert Adams, Scott took in about 41 percent of the vote.

She won her first term, in 2004, with about 62 percent of the vote, beating the incumbent without a runoff. Seeking re-election four years later, though, Scott only got 10,614 votes, about 700 more than Lawson, who held 38.2 percent of the ballots cast.

Adams, coming in third, had more than 5,000 votes, and though he didn’t endorse anyone when he conceded, Adams attacked Scott a lot during the campaign, and it’s hard to see how someone who supported him would turn out, in August, with a vote for the incumbent.

Scott, however, said the only reason she didn’t take the race outright was the low voter turnout.

“It gave my challenger an edge,” said Scott, not saying Lawson’s name. “I think [my supporters] recognize that they didn’t turnout the way they should, and I think they realize what is at stake.”

About 21 percent of registered voters went to the polls on July 15.

The district attorney’s race did not draw any Republican candidates in the strongly Democratic county, and the winner of the Aug. 5 primary runoff will be the district attorney, come the first work day of 2009.

Scott said she should be returned to the office in January because of the work she has done in the last four years. “We have the conviction rate to support that we’re tough on crime, but we also have that compassionate side. I’ve been the one implementing the programs. I’ve been doing the job. I’m the one that’s been in the schools. I’m the one who did work in the community with mental issues and awareness, elder abuse, and domestic violence,” Scott said.

**The incumbent’s campaign mailer, sent out right before the July 15 election, claims Scott’s experience includes “a 100% conviction rate for murder, rape, child abuse and child molestation cases.”

Asked about the statistics on Monday, Scott backed down a bit.

It is not true that everyone charged with murder, rape, child abuse or child molestation has been convicted. In the case of Travon Wilson, a 4-year-old who was shot in a Riverdale park, more than ten accused gang members received plea deals, and two who went to trial, were found not guilty.

In one case, earlier this year, charges were dropped against a former Jonesboro police officer, who allegedly forced himself on two girls. The indictment was done incorrectly — one of a number of alleged recent missteps by Scott’s office, embarrassments which included an incorrect multiple-murder indictment getting thrown out; a missed deadline redirecting a murder case into juvenile court; and the dismissal of a child-murder case, followed by the reversal of the dismissal.

When pressed, Scott rephrased the 100 percent claim, saying instead, “Our conviction rate is solid. There are periods where we’ve had 100 percent or 90 percent … We’ve been severely hampered by the lack of personnel. We’ve seen a huge increase in crime, and I inherited a backlog of cases.”**

Lawson said she is unpersuaded, and said Scott went into office without any experience and is leaving the office a mess. “People just want to fix this great county and get us back to where we were,” Lawson said. “People are looking, this time, at experience and qualifications to run that office.”

Lawson has been a juvenile judge in the county since 1995 and before that she worked for Scott’s predecessor as an assistant prosecutor.

Scott has tried to turn both experiences into negatives, describing Lawson, in a campaign mailer, as a “hanging judge” and the “candidate of the old court power gang.”

Lawson said her record shows the county court has only given detention time to about 150 children, of the more than 6,000 seen by Lawson and another judge in the last 12 years. Those 150, Lawson said, were considered to be a danger to society and were incorrigible.

“She’s just race baiting and it’s really getting old,” said Lawson, who is white. “It’s an absolute and total and complete lie, like most of the things she’s putting out.”

**Scott declined to talk about the “hanging judge” comment on Monday, saying she was just going to talk about her experience.

“I have not run a nasty campaign,” Scott said. “I believe they have.”**

150 detentions out of 6000 defendants - people that is a rate of 2.5%. That statistic alone should bury the BS that Lee Scott’s under-his-thumb, D.A. wife, Jewel Scott spews forth. Of cource 2 or 3 detentions out of 100 - is probably better than Jewel’s rate of those arrested by the police - to - those jailed in big boy court. Lets change to someone who really understands the law. Vote Tracy Graham Lawson for D.A.

Is the BOE trying to totally gut the one thing they got right last year, passing a Teachers’ Bill of Rights, which allows teachers to remove a severely disruptive child for the rest of the day so as the rest of the students can learn?

Looks like they are trying to kowtow to SACS on this, because the idea for the policy came from an “outside influence”.

They are also trying to repeal the Educators Memorandum as well, which was basically Sid Chapman’s attemp to water down the Teachers’ Bill of Rights.

If they want to combine them, fine. But if they remove the language that allows the teacher the right to remove a disruptive student, then it’s open season on teachers.

Even if you hate MACE, how can you be against the teacher having the right to remove a student who is destroying YOUR child’s learning environment?

Stellawasadiver,

Change can only be achieved when one finally stands up to the establishment. If our fore fathers had not stood up to British control, then we would have a queen ruling us and not a president. Blacks would not have the right to vote if it was not for the Civil Rights movement. So would you suggest to those who came before us that they should keep on complaining but not do anything about it? By remaining complacent to the status quo makes you asinine.

Since I do vote, then I do have the right to complain. Those who choose to nothing, do not have the right to complain. Get up and do something!

stellawasadiver,

If you are unhappy with the county, then why would you choose NOT to vote?

I do feel that those without the right to vote, ie convicted felons, still reserve the right to complain. Many felons (I did not say all) found themselves at some point in a bad situation and unfortunately walked away from it with a conviction. Because of that they can no longer participate in the election process, and therefore have no control whatsoever over what happens in their own county/state/country. They can complain.

The BOE should not take either MACE or GEA proposal straight up. They should, as responsible adults - read the proposals, understand the issues that each addresses and come up with a proposal from the BOE and enact it. That way neither of the teacher associations can be charged with influence. Just a BOE that response to the issues at hand. To do anything less is cowardly and irresponsible.

She is not affiliated with anyone, on Saturday she was at her family reunion and on Sunday at church. Which is where you need to be maybe you won’t have to write lies to keep your candidate in office. He has no law enforcement experience and it’s showing. You need to talk to the people who work for him. I’ve spoken to a few that was there under the previous sheriff (they are AA) and they can’t stand him. There comment is “whatever you think, multiply that times 10”. If he doesn’t treat his own employees with respect what does that say about the constituents he was elected to serve. Not to mention, he is so sure he is going to win, he doesn’t even bother showing up for debates. I’m really convinced that ALOT of the people in Clayton County just don’t care. Don’t believe the hype. I’m not a big fan of Wole’s either, but at least he’s done some things for our district & county. I actually voted Michael Bryant in the primary but you can’t convince me that Angela Redding has no ties to Hill with her husband working for the sheriff’s office & knowing she was at that meeting. ‘taylor’s’ link about the Kirlands’ moving back to Miss. just about says it all. A couple weeks ago Walking Small had 6-7 cars at a roadblock on Jodeco Rd in front of Suder Elem School. That’s actually a fairly safe area. Meanwhile, Pt South Prkwy/Flint River Rd/ Thomas Rd remain safe havens for gangs and other criminals. There’s a shooting or burglary about every other night in those areas. That’s okay ‘cause we got big billboards with Walking Small saying he won’t tolerate loud music. We have sheriff dept cars with his name on them, striking fear in the hearts and minds of loud music punks and people who throw gum wrappers out their car windows. 17,000 outstanding warrants: Walking Small says they’re from the previous sheriff. Sooo, whatcha been doing the last four years Vic?! Tuggle didn’t cost us $6 million in court costs. Duplication of services? The duplication wasn’t there before; how much is that costing us? It’s just mind-boggling that Jewel and Victor got enough votes to force runoffs. I have to agree with a previous poster: half the posters here shouldn’t be allowed to vote. If this or anything else is being done in their neighborhoods, they will know about it. I figured stellawasadiver did not vote (based on his/her initial post). Just another Clayton resident taking up space who is part of the problem instead of the solution in this county. Sad and apathetic/pathetic. Somebody probably died for your right to vote and you’d rather b!itch about the system instead of trying to make things better. You’re probably a renter as well.

If you believe all these politicians are what you described (and I do agree with what you said on that note) why don’t you run for office yourself? Too easy, right?

Typical.

Most of the readers of this blog know that the poster that uses the list of African monikers is none other than our old friend and reprobate, John Trotter. Some think it is Lee Scott and his cronies. Whatever, 2 racist pig peas in a pod, only difference is Lee is Black and John thinks he is. JT has spent many years trying to convince black candidates and voters – he was their Great White Hope. Using racial rhetoric and imagery – he led a number of befuddled people into public office. Lee Scott follows that same drummer.

The voters of Clayton do understand that their futures are in their own hands, not in Trotter’s and not Scott’s. Vote on Aug 5 to rid our community of the followers of these 2 charletans. NO to Lee Scott , Jewel Scott , Victor Hill , Ms. Davenport, Ms. Goree and Mr. Mack.

You are the worst kind of idiot - a stupid moron. Tracy Graham Lawson and another judge working with juveniles worked over 6000 cases in the last few years and - listen closely - ONLY detained 2.5% of those. Pretty lenient, but working for constructive changes with the youth before them. Apparently you would just want zero arrests and for the youth of our county to have no accountability for any action - even those of recent paast - such as murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, child murder, child molestation, child beating, child rape. Oh - your society would be a utopia for the worst that our society can bring forth. Once more with emphasis - YOU IDIOT.

I agree with you huh?. I think stellawasadiver is a renter too. If she was a property owner/taxpayer in Clayton County, she would understand “these silly little county-level elections” could mean a huge increase in our property taxes if Victurd is allowed to continue to violate rights and take the law into his own hands.

I will go one step more as I also feel an believe that you hate your own selves for being African American and you all lives in total misery since you can not get your way then you use or put race into the mix. And you’re the problem not the white folks as we elected you into office and your screw your own race every chance you get and your bring down us as African Americans.

I voted. Who I voted for is irrelevant to the point. The point is, with all the issues that are surrounding Clayton County, you would think more than 11% of the voters turned out. Interesting is how you hear people on the streets, in stores, barber shops, hair salons and the like talking about the things that are wrong in our community but fail to do anything about it. Our children are at risk of potentially losing out on scholarships for colleges, not being accepted into accredited 4-year institutions - as well as a 50%+ drop out rate but yet we seem to feel it is someone else’s fault for our own demise.

Wake up people. If you don’t care about your own community, why should anyone else care?

stellawasadiver,

I used to feel the same way that you do, but I came to the realization that someone will be elected to fill those positions anyway whether I vote or not. Some want power because they are power-hungry. Others truly want to do positive things with their power, but very quickly learn that it is not as easy as they thought. If I am forced to trust someone with political authority, then I want to make certain they have the best of intentions. Hill and the Scotts are truly only thinking of themselves.

Well, well. Seems that the three stooges (Lee, Jewel, and Victor) not only use the race card but are promoting colorism in their campaign for the run-off.

Word on the street is that a supporter close to their campaign was overheard saying they are encouraged to use the “brown paper bag test” when targeting voters in the run-off because “the darker, the dumber - and they’ll believe anything”.

Look, people… if you see those campaigning who are not doing so on the foundation of effective leadership and previous accomplishments, doesn’t that tell you something? Isn’t there something to these three having to resort to other things such as racism and colorism to win send you a message that they don’t even believe in themselves enough to win on their own performance?

Not everyone who “rents” is pond scum. I have been a renter in the same house for 12 years now. I pay my rent on time as well as all my other bills and I vote. I keep my yard neat and clean. Sometimes there are circumstances that do not provide for the opportunity for all people to own a house. I may not pay property taxes directly but they are paid by my landlord and are included in my rent. You need to quit being so judgemental about things you know nothing about. If you would put as much energy into trying to improve things in this county as you do trashing people this county might actually turn around. It is not all renters bringing this county down. It is the narrow minded, bigoted, power hungry people be they home owners or renters. Until we can vote for qualified people regardless of party or race we will continue to stay in this mess.

By Oh please

July 25, 2008 8:02 AM | Link to this

Sue,

I don’t think that Taxpayer meant that renters are bad or the cause of the problem. I think all he meant was that one would not be so apathetic if they owned a home because they would have to pay property taxes. I’m a renter too, but I don’t take Taxpayer’s comment so personal because he is probably right. Most of those that knew their vote would count for something probably were home owners and not renters. Most renters live in a particular place for a limited amount of time, and therefore do not extend the effort to become involved in the community. Others, like you and I, rent in one place for a number of years and we are a little more rooted so it matters to us who holds local office.

Victor Hill’s Trial Date in Federal Court 22 Sept. 2008 (pdf’s posted).

Victor Hill, having been sued in Federal Court of Georgia Northern District and having exhausted all attempts at delay and dismissal is finally heading to trial by jury in the case of Tuggle vs Hill.

Evidence including the video deposition of Victor Hill along with depositions of Joanne Southerland, Jon Antoine, Patricia Ruth, Phillip Hanner has been submitted.

Victor Hill as you recall, is being charged with False Arrest, Malicious Prosecution, Retaliatory Prosecution entitling Tuggle to HUGE Compensatory Damages under the US Constitution’s 4th Amendment.

Looks like another big pay day from the Clayton County Tax Payers for the alleged inept action’s of Sheriff Hill on 22 Sept 2008. With the depositions and history being what it is, we know that SO Dep. Southerland, named defendant will be thrown under the bus BUT I’m sure, when considering Victor Hill’s video deposition, and, as the story changes on the witness stand, the video deposition will return to haunt.

I’m reminded of the Clint Eastwod movie “The Unforgiven”. Gene Hackman, playing Little Bill Daggett, questioning Morgan Freeman (as Ned) “Now Ned, them w******* are going to tell different lies than you. And when their lies ain’t the same as your lies..it’s gonna hurt real bad, not gentle like before”

It will be interesting to hear the new and improved story given on the witness stand in Federal Court. But when those stories aren’t the same as the old stories, it’s gonna hurt real bad. Unfortunately it’s going to hurt for the Clayton County Tax Payers.

How much longer can we afford Sheriff Victor Hill?

Let’s keep this simple: Victor Hill is an elected official therefore he works for us. Even though he gets paid more than most in Clayco, he still works for us. Now, I don’t know about you, but anyone who worked for me and didn’t answer question I asked him, I would fire him! Anyone, who did whatever they wanted and used the phrase “I can do whatever I want, I am the Sheriff”, again fired! And ask yourself this, Why is it that if this county is sooo safe, does Victor need protection. After all, he has firearms and training, which is more than the public. Do any of you feel safe driving through back streets in Forest Park or Riverdale, much less taking a stroll on the sidewalk? We don’t have bodyguards, why should he? He is more equiped to protect himself than we are, but I have seen him (or barely seen him) at lunch. He is surrounded by bodyguards. But the county is sooo safe!!! He knows it is not or he would be walking around shaking the hands of those people he is asking for a job.

Rick,

That is the most ignorant thing I have ever heard. As I told stellawasadiver, people will be elected to those positions whether you vote or not. If you are concerned about the money you pay in taxes, then you should exercise whatever control, no matter how small, to affect how that money is spent. I didn’t elect these dummies either (because I didn’t live here), but I was not about to sit back and let someone else re-elect the dummies and/or new idiots!

He finds close kin in the likes of Lee Scott. In this past election cycle - most of their candidates find themselves in run-offs and some lost outright. We have a chance to shut down the divisivness here by voting out Jewel Scott and Victor Hill and kicking Lee Scott to the curb once again.

Wow, Dr. Dowell! You just can’t bow out gracefully, can you? Lee Scott must have begged you to do this site. None of you can seem to handle the fact that you are losing control. Clayton County may not have been paying attention in 2004, but no more! Well, well - Researcher 2 - you are none other than the embarrassed Glenn Dowell. You should be embarressed - 8% of the vote, 5th out of 7 candidates. You cannot blame that poor showing on anything more than your racist lies you tried to spout on this venue and around Clayton. You got beat because the blacks of this county are sick and tired of these tactics. Tactics you have embraced since becoming caught in the John Trotter web. I could understand how poor Special-Ed, Norreese could be caught up and led around by JT the little lepruchan. But I really thought that someone with your educational background would be above such filth. JT sure is good at getting down to the basic hate you must feel about yourself, huh.

About your money management skills - what about the $300,000 you owed to various govt. entities at the end of 2005. You live off of Taxpayer monies and have the gall to be in arrears for $300k.

Your association with John Trotter is well documented - you both come to BOE meeting building - but rarely go into the meeting, prefering to pat each other on the back for the fools you make of the taxpayers and of the gullible. It is amazing - from what you use to say about John - to now being so close.

You Glenn Dowell and John Trotter and Lee Scott - have all been known to bully people that oppose you, black and white. When whites oppose you, call them racist and blacks who oppose callthem Uncle Toms. But those that oppose you can see a better way - that way is forward and you CANNOT stand it. Come on Glenn - be a proud black man and do what is right for us all.

For those of you wanting to re-elect Jewel Scott, do you see the crimes committed in the county and how many of them are committed by people who are out on bond? Or, how about failing to get a criminal tried as an adult rather than a juvenile because of missing a deadline? We can’t afford to keep someone of her character. She does not care about the county, just wants the money and power that goes along with the job. Please use common sense and stop trying to put people in office that are Black when running against a White person. It’s not about that. It’s about who will do the best job.
