Can Clayton lure new businesses?
A few new businesses are trickling into Clayton County. At a time when much of the attention is focusing on problems in the school system, it’s refreshing to learn new jobs are being created. Read my latest blog entry on Wordpress

For safety’s sake, let’s all get along
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Recently, Sheriff Victor Hill denied Clayton County Police Department detectives access to tools they need to solve crimes, such as mug shots, interviewing and taking photographs of jailed suspects. After a negative media blitz, the sheriff reversed his decision.
As per news reports, Hill plans to form a burglary task force and wants access to CCPD statistics in exchange for cooperation.
Even though Hill can retrieve statistics via county computers at any time, Police Chief Jeff Turner turned over six months worth of burglary reports. In return, the sheriff’s office now requires CCPD to fill out paperwork in order to enter the jail.
As a former homicide detective, Hill knows the importance of teamwork amongst law enforcement agencies in order to solve crimes.
However, as of last Friday, Hill was picking and choosing who would be allowed into the jail based upon how much information they provide to him about the cases they are working on, according to the CCPD.
“Sheriff Hill says that he has the citizens’ best interest at heart, but his actions are contrary to his words,” states Chief Turner.
Toss in the recently filed Pink Pony federal lawsuit that could cost Clayton taxpayers millions of dollars more in settlements and legal fees, along with a second ethics violation filed against Hill last week for alleged misappropriation of funds, and one has to wonder what’s going on over at the Justice Center. None of these actions are in the citizens’ best interests.
Let’s just pray that these choices do not affect public safety, and that no criminals inadvertently beat the system over nonsense. Don’t we have enough drama going on in this county as it is?

Read in Clayton’s newspaper this morning that several employees of the sheriff’s department are also filing formal complaints for being retaliated against by Victor Hill because they dared to tell the truth at the Tee Cassells hearing regarding that choir mess.
Wake up Clayton and add Victor Hill to the list of elected officials that need to GO on July 15 before he bankrupts this county. Taxpayers will still be paying for his lawsuits long after he’s a distant memory.

I have seen certain elected officials do misdeeds before but it is laughable as to why residents of Clayton County let yours do it at once! From the School Board to Victor Hill to Jewel Scott. I haven’t seen this bad of “draft picks” since Lawrence Phillips and Ryan Leaf. Let’s hope the Falcons don’t ask Clayton County for their opinion this month. Unbelievable what you allow down there. It’s no wonder why Clayton is the joke of Georgia.
If you don’t take action, Clayton County will soon look similar to the National Georgraphic documentaries where hyenas and vultures (Scott’s, Hill’s, Trotter’s, etc.) compete for the same dead carcass in a barren land. Sad thing is that it was once beautiful, functional, and attractive.

This is all about Victor. This is an election year and he is trying to do his best which is not good enough.
He has been doing nothing but resisting. Victor does not descriminate who he fight with Jeff, Eldrin, his employees, Chief Deputy ETC and, he always have the new right there beside him to make us think he wants justice, when in all reality he just want us to see who he truly is. He is a natural pain to everyone including the citizens. He is just showing us what a real a— he really is. ALL, don’t you agree he has cost us enough of our hard earned money!!!!! Let’s boot him out. I wish he could go now before he cost me my holiday money.

It is a crying shame that we have a Sheriff that appears to be more interested in increasing the size of his fiefdom than in performing his duty in cooperation with others. It is a crying shame that we have a Sheriff that has cost the county taxpayers millions of dollars as a result of his actions.
I agree with some others that Sheriff Hill needs to go, but, I am finding it difficult to find information about his opponents that is much more than campaign rhetoric. I really wish that I could find a way to get good solid background information on each candidate’s qualifications and beliefs before going to the polls. That is true of the Sheriff, the Board of Education, and all other elected officials. I don’t want to vote just to throw the bums out if I only succeed in voting in another bunch of bums.

Good afternoon All,
Once candidate qualifications are completed on May 2, I will do blogs profiling all candidates running for elected office in Clayton (time & space permitting), and there are several important seats up for reelection this year.
I “think” I will have time to go over all of the positions up for reelection, but will definitely do one on candidates for sheriff.
The superintendent profiles were easier because those candidates were reported on regularly. I will do my best to gather information on all candidates, but some may be harder to gather info on - especially if they are not incumbents, persons who have not run for office in the past or have not done anything in the community (which speaks volumes in itself to me).
As always, I encourage anyone running for office in Clayton to post information about their candidacy (i.e., meet and greets; town hall meetings, where we can get more information about your position(s), etc.) on this blog when possible so those who read it can be informed.
I also encourage any Clayton resident who can offer substantiated information about any candidate running for office (rumors and/or hearsay won’t help us make the best choices in my opinion), to post that info here and share with your neighbors. Knowledge is power!

Read the article above, while Sheriff Hill plays his games, criminals are getting a free pass!
Pay attention Clayton, do we need any more criminals on our streets? Hill is on a mission to consolidate the sheriff and police departments instead of doing what the sheriff’s office is supposed to be doing, running the jail and serving warrants. He is power hungry, let’s not reward him with another term in office, he is out for himself.

How does Hill the Joker still believe in consolidating the PD into his poorly run Department when Turner has to already serve warrants for him to get them off the street? Sheriff Hill is putting us all at risk and creating an unsafe County. Get him out of there!
From News-Daily: “Between December 5, and March 1, county police arrested 464 people with outstanding warrants, Turner said. About 176 of those were Clayton County warrants.”

I don’t know how to fix the mess with Sheriff Hill until he is voted out of office. I have concerns that this will not happen. I do not trust the votes of Clayton County to do what is best for the county. As for the school board it is simple remove John Trotter’s from the mix and elect people that do not have anything to do with him. The school board will have no problems and the students can get what they deserve.

These are very good hard working people as well. We all have choices and, don’t complain if you have not checked them out. Rainwater will be having a Meet and Greet at The Coffee Spot on April 26 from 2-4 P.M. If you need to get in touch with Rainwater or want to help with the campaign his e-mail address is electrainwater@yahoo.com.
Come and meet him and ask questions. It is always better to speak to the canidates and form your own opinion, not by what others say.
You guys should also support this new business that has opened in our County. Everyone else is running because of the bad publicity that we have gotten. I applaud The Coffee Spot. They have live Jazz and,so many other thing going on there. The owner Dennis is welcoming all that wish to have any meetings etc at his place. The inside is very inviting and warm and cozy. This business is located on Tara Blvd near Tara Road in the newest strip mall on the right coming from 75 interstate.

“Maude and “Clayton needs more leaders with integrity”.
Once again I have to ask the obvious questions. (You know, the ones the MACE bashers consistently refuse to answer.)
How can John Trotter be “the problem” with the school board when the majority voting bloc is, (and has been since the land deal debacle started ClayCo on this road) comprised of GAE members?
How can MACE be “the problem” when a grand total of ZERO members can be found among the administrators who run this “fatally flawed” system?
Facts and logic people, facts and logic. (So many mouth-breathers; so little time…Sigh)
PS To “Clayton needs…” (Or is it Dr. Phil?) Please explain how we are “lucky” to have Eddie White when he did absolutely nothing to stop his fellow GAE colleague Rod Johnson from KNOWINGLY hiring an accused child molester to work as a “bodyguard” in the system?
I say thank God we had (and may contiune to have when the courts weigh in) Norreese Haynes on board to help put a stop to having an accused, now indicted, CHILD SEXUAL PREDATOR work in the system before any children were harmed.
Give me a “loud” board member looking out for children over a “pillar of the community” who stands by and does NOTHING when Rod Johnson KNOWINGLY tries to hire an accused, now indicted child molester any day! Like the old saying “Evil exists when ‘good men’ stand by and do nothing”.
And you have the nerve to talk about “integrity”?

The reason why we make bad choices as voters is because we are uninformed. This election season please take the time to examine the candidates that will represent you for the next four years. GET VICTOR HILL OUT AND REPLACE HIM WITH KEM KIMBROUGH….HE IS THE MOST QUALIFIED CANDIDATE. Do your homework and you will see for yourself. The website (kemforsheriff.com) is very informative, but once you meet Kem in person and witness his knowledge and passion for law enforcement, you will know who to cast your vote for in July. I met him last weekend at a coffee chat and not only am I going to vote for him, I am going to tell all of my friends and family to vote for him as well. He is truly remarkable. Again, do your homework and be an informed voter. Our county is counting on you to make good choices to get us out of this current mess that we are in.
Parents, please stop blaming the board and be active and involved in your children’s academic progress. The school board did not sit down and take those standardized test last year…the children did. Education begins at home. You have to read to them when they are little, make them do their homework when they want to play video games and set high standards for them if you want them to succeed academicaly. To those parents who are on the ball, reach out to those who aren’t. I blame the board for losing our accreditation, but I blame the parents for everything else. The damage is done. Let’s move forward and figure out ways to improve our situation, and that is by first being informed voters. Take the time to figure out what’s going on by going to school board, city and county meetings. Our officials are supposed to be representing us, not themselves. As you can see, even though you feel like it is not your problem, it really is…And lastly, let’s hold these elected officials accountable. If they do not hold up their end of the bargain, get them out of there and put in someone who will. Thank you for allowing me to vent.

John, we all know Norreese is your puppet and he’s gone now. Let it go. He’s not the sharpest tool in the shed anyhow. Anything he did, you initiated. Anything he presented, you prepared. You were the man behind the curtain. It’s not a secret. That is one reason why MACE is a problem.
I see your definition of integrity is you and Norreese Haynes trying to get his seat back when ALL have said he and others must go? It’s clear now. Your definition of integrity is roadblocking the path back to accreditation and placing the children between you and your selfishness in obtaining something you will never get. That’s not integrity, John. That’s being a coward.
We have no idea what Mr. White tried to do about the hire. But I will take a man of his caliber who may have made a mistake anyday over the likes of someone “loudly” speaking out both sides of their mouth and letting another man make his decisions for him.

Kem Kimbrough candidacy needs carefull scrutiny and veting on behalf of the voters prior to Election Day. Formally of the CC Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Kimbrough was with Victor on the Day of the Rooftop Snipers and continued with the SO after the ordeal that cost this county $7 Million Dollars in a wrongful termination law suit. This is not an accusation of being complicit with Victor but I want to know his participation in that action and why, through the Courage of His Convictions, did he remain afterwards? Noreese was not loud he was ignorant. As for you and MACE trying to bring Pulliam back the new message to you is that, “YOU WILL NOT GAIN CONTROL OF THE BOARD BY BRINGING HER IN.” Citizens please be aware of anyone this disgruntled man runs for office. Just look for the “Big Glossy Campaign Signs” with the peoples pictures on them and you will know that they are Trotter’s people who he is running for office. We need a change in Clayton County and we need positive knowledgeable people on the board. We are tired of ignorance and corruption. Noreese needs to go somewhere and hide up under a rock after calling himself Rev. Haynes “with no church” and then lying about where he lives when he knew he lived with his boyfriend in Cobb County. The police report told it all. Trotter, if Noreese is the best you can give the citizens of Clayton County for a school board member then you need to go hide up under a rock with him. Trotter does not want what is best for Clayton County, he has proven that time and time again. Anyone he supports or tries to get into office is suspect and should not even be considered. Remember that when A. Michele Scott is up for reelection.
Which reminds me, anybody else notice the “reelect Commissioner Virginia Gray” campaign sign on the wall behind Trotter in that picture on Clayton’s webpage that went with the article on Trotter? Makes one wonder where and with whom her loyalties lie.
Oh yeah, Victor Hill must go!! Kem Kimbrough is suspect too (although not because of Trotter) because if I remember correctly he was right there when Hill fired all those deputies day one. We don’t need anyone affiliated or associated with Hill in the sheriff’s office, but I’ll hear him out. So far I am undecided, looking forward to hearing more on all candidates, just hope they don’t split the vote & Hill win’s by default. That would be disastrous.

Finally, maybe you can tell us what “cohearsed” means since I can’t find it in any dictionary. Maybe you would have benefited from remediation. LOL
And “Clayton needs…” if you want to define integrity as someone who quietly acquiesced to Rod Johnson KNOWINGLY hiring an accused, now indicted child molester, you go right ahead on. (And in my book, if you don’t publicly condemn an action such as Johnson’s, like Norreese Haynes did, you in essence “quietly acquiesced”. Again, evil exists when good men stand by and do nothing.)
PS By the way Common Sense and Clayton Needs…if you are so sure of the rightness of your positions, I read on the blogs where Dr. Trotter has an open challenge to debate any of you in a formal debate. Care to take him up on it?

Victor has had over 300 complaints filed against him since he came in office, 70 since Jan 08. What does that tell you!!! He can’t even work with his staff non the less outside citizens. He has no people skills at all if it isn’t done his way. In other words “MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY”. That is the approach he is using with his staff as well. I have met some good officers that work for Victor and, you would not believe what is going on behind those closed doors, it would make you sick to your stomach to know what this midget is doing to good hard working people that is only trying to make a living.

I had the opportunity to meet several candidates. For Sheriff I like Rainwater. He brings experience and knowledge to the job. For Clerk of Court, I like Bob Hartley. I went to his last meet and greet and was impressed with his qualifications and experience. For Chairman, I like Eldrin Bell. Tax Commissioner I like Terry Baskin, and For State Senate, I like Demont Davis. These are the candidates that I had the opportunity to meet and thus form an informed opinion. I encourage voters in Clayton County to do the same before you vote in another set of misfits. I hope the other candidates put themselves out there for public scrutiny.

Victor Hill is a disgrace to the word public servant and should never be considered for Sheriff again. Not becasue i’m mad and want to rant and rave but because of these facts that can’t be disputed.
His Ego and poor leadership style causes him to fight with everyone around him and make consistant poor decisions in critical areas. 1st he fired his 1st Chief deputy because he’s such “a bad guy”. Now he just fired his 2nd Chief Deputy on bad terms becasue “he’s a bad guy too”. He just fired his legal advisor within the last couple of weeks ON BAD TERMS. He just lost his his Internal Affairs major who came from the DA’s office as an investigator and WENT BACK (from a Major to an investigator)leaving on obviously BAD TERMS. He transfered his top Major back to the jail as punishment and now their on BAD TERMS, He just demoted a captain to Lt. and another major to Capt. recently because of things that were “their fault” never his! He can’t get along with Bell and the commissioners.. they’re all on BAD TERMS with him.. He “banned” the AJC for a year becasue they wrote something about him he didn’t like and refused to give them critical and newsworthy information and interviews.. they are on BAD TERMS WITH HIM. When is it going to be obvious that he has a personality and leadership disorder and is unfit to heal, fix and lead our County in the right direction? Lawsuits..millions of dollars gone, repeated transfers of key staff, not working well with Chief Turner who he’s also on BAD TERMS with! In order for the County to recover.. he’s got to go. Black, White, Hispanic, asian.. Democrat, Republican, Independent.. everyone must agree that he’s NOT WHAT THE COUNTY NEEDS!

Nice try by Ericka and “Pappy” to circumvent the rule of law, but the story just broke that Norreese Haynes has been totally vindicated as far as his legal right to represent the voters in his district.

See All Know All have an all seeing “Eye”. Just because Victor was smart enough and had to heart to get rid of trouble makers when he took office don’t mean he was all bad. The incumbent was worst; he saw the demographics changing, but still wanted to set up road blocks in all Black areas throwing Blacks in jail at an alerting rate. Victor, does the same thing, but takes a lot of you and your people to jail also. He’s more fair and impartial; your folks use to get away with a lot things because they knew “June bug Toggle” on a first name basis. That type stuff doesn’t work for you and your any longer do it. Yah, setting up road blocks in front of SLEAZE capital of Clayton County will cut down on the drug running. Yah, the Sleaze balls he run off and the other Stripper Sleaze ball will sues don’t make it RIGHT, but it does make it WHITE, that’s our justice system. All that I can add to this BLOG is let’s make sure we are well informed on the candidates. I did not vote for V. Hill nor will I ever. The previous Sheriff did a pretty good job…there was no real crime in Clayton County until the bus line and Atlanta moved all the people out of the public housing… add the fact that Clayton Co. has some of the cheapest rent and home prices was a breeding ground for trouble. I enjoyed living in Clayton Co. years ago… I’ve watched in change in the past 6 years and I’m just waiting for the real estate market to pick up so I can get the HE!! OUT…

Now that Norreese Haynes has been totally vindicated on the issue of residency by the Secretary of State’s office (remember these are Republicans, not likely to be doing any “political favors” for a local school board Democrat) is the board going to do the right thing and reinstate him?
Or is the board going to open itself up to even more lawsuits, and more distractions?
The rule of law has spoken. It’s up to the voters to decide on their representative, not “outside influences” like “Pope Elgart” of SACS.

Once you understand the relationships between the players in this debacle, it’s crystal clear who had the incentive to “lie” as it were.

No Justice you are totally right Jewel Scott and Leslie Terry always drop cases on all their little crony friends that’s been going on ever since these AssClowns been Elected in to their seats back in 2003.
Here is proof for all:
I just put this together I think is Kem Kimbrough the same one that is a Attorney that’s running for Sheriff here in Clayton County? Yes.
If so then he is a Member and supporter and follower of Lee/Jewel Scott then and nothing but another crony because he belongs to the Clayton County Democratic Party as he is a member that is listed on their website: I will not vote for his Dum a* that’s for sure.
Like for fact Stephanie Campbell use to work for Wachovia and a teller then she now get disability from them because she was having a nervous break down, and maybe because she was running for all these Elected Jobs, like in 2005 she ran for Riverdale City Council in ward 3 against Wanda Wallace, then when she lost there she was going to run for the School Board but missed to qualify by 1 day, and then she also ran for the Mayor of Riverdale in 2007 and lost.
Also why would the Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill hire someone like Stephanie Campbell about 3 weeks ago with this criminal history and how is Victor Hill paying her with her getting disability from Wachovia Bank for a nervous break down and put her in the accounting dept within the Sheriff’s Department, humm will maybe to try to hide all his dirty deeds with padding the books and covering up his money laundering activities.
I just wanted to give you all a little more history on this AssClowns.
As many people wonders if the DA (Jewel Scott) and Solicitor General (Leslie Miller Terry) of Clayton County will sweep this under the rug since they all are closes friends like they did for their other friends like Frank Usher, Wayne Hall and so on hum we all will have to wait and see now want we.

Before you throw to many stones at our Sheriff, be sure you have the facts. Sheriff Hill has done a good job and continues to do so with Bell trying everything he can to put pot holes in his way.
When you check out what has been done, don’t forget to look at all the equipment donated to the Sheriff’s Dept. from the Federal Government. No charge to tax payers.
Look at all the drugs that have been taken from the streets and our children and what has been confiscated. Money, automobiles, and guns. Don’t just look at one side.

See All Know All,
You didn’t answer the question. I wonder why? Let’s try again. Why isn’t Jeff Turner being exploited and Victor Hill IS if its only about being black?”
There are dozens of botched investigations/arrests by Hill that have been thrown out because of his ignorance and lack of knowledge of not only the law, but his responsibilities. Then there’s the lawsuits, the ethics violation, inappropriate use of monies from the City of Morrow, inability to serve warrents leaving criminals on the streets, and a multitude of other things that solidifies his inability to serve in that position. That is only the beginning. The only “boy” around here is Victor who’s trying to play Sheriff from his sandbox.

I NEVER see a sheriff’s car in my neighborhood - only CCPD (thanks to them for the great work that they do!) and CCPD also had a hand in getting drugs, criminals & the like off the streets. So THANKS TO CCPD FOR ALL YOU DO - DESPITE VICTOR HILL’S BEST EFFORTS TO DISCREDIT YOU AND MAKE YOUR JOB HARDER.
Imagine how much more crime could get solved if the sheriff’s department would try serving warrants instead of duplicating services CCPD already provides.
Oh I’m wrong, I did see a sheriff’s car drive through after posting “Re-elect Sheriff Victor Hill” signs on lawns a few months back.
The very least Hill can do is get some free equipment for the sheriff’s department considering all the money he has cost taxpayers since he took office.
But I’ll bet even if we (the taxpayers) paid for that equipment, the cost would not be equivalent to the $7 million worth of lawsuits Victor Hill has already cost Clayton’s taxpayers, not to mention the money we will have to shell out in the future for all of his other lawuits!

Well “Clayton needs more leaders…” you can stand by your “opinion” if you want. It just doesn’t stand up to facts.
Where was Eddie White when MILLIONS EXTRA of taxpayers’ money was being spent on the land deal? Oh yeah, he voted for it.
Where was Eddie White when Pulliam brought her “reign of error”? Oh yeah, he voted for her.
Where was Eddie White with the courage to speak up when discipline became TOTALLY out of control? Nowhere to be found, because that would upset the puppeteers at GAE who control the majority voting bloc on the board.
And last but certainly not least. Where was he “for the children” when fellow GAE member Rod Johnson KNOWINGLY hired an accused, now indicted, child molester? For all practical purposes he was either willfully ignorant of it, or in quiet complicity with it, because, unlike Norrese Haynes, there is no evidence that he did anything to stop it.
That sounds more like a shill for the status quo, than a “leader”.
Just look at the way he is waffling, now that the Secretary of State’s office has totally vindicated Norrese Haynes on the residency issue. He seems much more interested in making a naked power grab than he does following the rule of law and taking real leadership and undoing the blatantly illegal action of Davis and “Pappy” Bell.
I’m sure he may be characterized as a “good person” but as the saying goes, “Evil exists when good men stand by and do nothing”

Are all of the “reelect victor hill” signs legitimately placed in all of the yards? Inquiring minds want to know. Is there some sort of county ordinance for all of these little signs? Are he and his deputies placing these signs in yards or easements? Are all of the sign placed by permission? Would someone be afraid to remove one of those signs after the fact? Is ol’ vic above retribution for something as petty as removing a yard sign? I’d like to see him or his cronies try to put one of those crappy signs in my yard - but that would never happen since my house is in a cul-de-sac and hardly in public view, which vic craves incessantly.
Along with many other things, Clayton County needs a much stronger zoning ordinance and enforcement against all of signs (from election signs to “work from home” to “carpets cleaned $9.95/room”) that litter our roads, streets and boulevards. Just another sign of the “cheapness” of our community and its downward spiral.
Try that one on for size, you “quality of life” guru, Victor. Your littering of this county is the tip of the sleaze iceberg that amounts to dumping, prostitution, gangs, drugs, theft, vandalism, truancy and fraud. I just can’t beleive this maybe this is who Gail Hambrick wants or Truett Kathy, Eldrid Bell. So just get ready to see alot of teachers flee.
