Can Clayton lure new businesses?
A few new businesses are trickling into Clayton County. At a time when much of the attention is focusing on problems in the school system, it’s refreshing to learn new jobs are being created. Read my latest blog entry on Wordpress

SB 458 is not an option
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
A word change in Senate Bill 458 encouraged Fayette County residents (via 17,334 telephone calls to Governor Perdue and 1,500+ emails to it’s representatives) to ask for revisions to the single word that would force them to accept students from failing school systems.
According to Rep. Matt Ramsey (R-Peachtree City), the new version states that any county “ may refuse a student for any reason, and it is completely in the discretion of the school system that would accept or deny such student’s request to attend.”
The Fayette community is “making our jobs so easy” said Ramsey, by simply getting involved - making telephone calls and writing letters to give their representatives enough ammo to kill that portion of the bill. “We have responded to the call in this situation, we care about our children, this community and we have made that emphatically clear,” Ramsey said at a recent town hall meeting.
Last month’s school board meeting at the Clayton County Performing Arts Center was an excellent show of support for our students and community. It was also must see TV for non-residents, as well a plethora of media sound bites.
However, many citizens departed after the public comments ended. Sure it was great that some got an opportunity to vent during the one minute allotted. But by leaving, they missed the most important parts since major decisions weren’t discussed until after public comments.
Clayton residents have a part to play in keeping accreditation as well, since SACS recommended more parental and community involvement with CCPS overall. With three promised resignations and four seats up for reelection, we can change things for the better. We must carefully scrutinize any possible replacements (as well as candidates for other positions up for reelection in July) and pay attention to what they are doing or not doing for and in our communities.
After this year, few will be able to say that they did not have a hand in choosing our elected officials unless one just doesn’t vote. The wrong choices could make or break this county.
Clayton’s Board of Education will meet tonight to discuss choosing a corrective superintendent. The next school board meeting will be held on Monday, April 14. The next Board of Commissioners meeting is tomorrow, April 1.

This is really a shame. Let’s face facts even if this bill is passed in its present form, no county is going to willingly accept most Clayton students no matter how great he or she may be.
Public schools countrywide are overcrowded and other counties will just say they are too full to accept Clayton’s students unless someone has a hook up.
Too bad Clayton’s children are suffering because parents did not make better choices and voted based on race rather than qualifications. Think about if your choice was worth it when you have to shell out money for a rental apartment in another county or private school or can’t sell your home.
But really, can you blame the other counties for not wanting to deal with Clayton’s problems? I live here and I don’t wanna deal with it! Thank GOD we have no children in CCPS, that would make matters even worse for my family.
Oh well, Clayton is at the bottom of the barrel which means we can only go up. Hopefully.

Your right….
Unfortunately, we must stay and deal with our current problems within Clayton County. I am one parent who is choosing NOT to move, NOT to send my children to a different county school system…I have chosen to stay and be a part of the fight to reviatlize the county! It can be done, with a little education on the people that are running for office within the whole county and not just the school board. Some things HAVE to change and if that means also changing people in other elected offices, then so be it…It is time to open our eyes as a community and be a part of the processes in which we choose who our leaders are. I have written letters, made phone calls, attended meetings, etc. It’s funny how the attorneys that represent the school board are the only ones I cannot get a response from when asking questions.
And please, let’s remember that the WHOLE state of Georgia school system remains “at the bottom” of the barrel, not just Clayton County.

I agree with you. I don’t want any Clayton kids in any Fayette, Henry, Cobb, Gwinnett, or any other system as well. I don’t want the kids of Clayton to drag us down with them. I am from Cobb County and proud of the schools too. I hope all the parents realize that voting based on race and not qualification was not good.

It is pretty obvious that the surrounding counties don’t want our students. It is also pretty obvious that the existing BOE is clueless as to how to fix the problems. A corrective superintendent is at best a temporary solution, and it is pretty obvious that the BOE can’t find it in themselves to find one that we can afford. I’m beginning to think that the future of Clayton County will not include families with school age children.
I recall a movie “Escape from New York” which showed a good example of what is in store for Clayton County.

Schools in North Fulton are the best in the state because most of the parents are highly educated & demand that from our schools, teachers, board members, etc. I wonder what the education level of adult residents in Clayton county are?

Do you really think the same parents that didn’t take the time to raise their kids correctly are going to put much effort into driving them to another school district? The parents that will are probably the same ones that have made an effort to raise the kids right to begin with and will probably have well behaved disiplined kids.
Maybe fayette and henry can work out a system and trade all their bad students for all clayton counties good ones….

to South Fulton in particular - don’t forget the reason Clayton has so many rejects is because Fulton County dumped them into Clayton to clean up your county for the 1996 Olympics. That’s why South Fulton is halfway decent today.
It was never fair to begin with that they all got dumped here. If Fulton county had dealt with THEIR OWN PROBLEMS back then, Clayton wouldn’t have to do so today.
But life isn’t fair huh? Especially to the children who truly had nothing to do with this mess. As said above, oh well ….

My family is already looking in Fayette for a place to move. I am an educator and currently live in Clayton. All employees in Clayton did not receive their money. This is the straw that broke the camel’s back with us. We want to totally divest ourselves from Clayton. Some person with Staff Development told a friend of mine that Rod Johnson’s organizational chart took out the Miller guy who was the professional who had been in charge of the area which would be over finance and installed a hack with a high school diploma who is close to Rod Johnson. This person is in charge of a large portion of the school system…like a deputy superintendent. Wow…just because he knows Rod johnson…and he has a high school diploma. Now you know why our family is moving out of Clayton. It is unbelievable here. People with high school diplomas running the school system. Thanks Rod Johnson.

Conveniently forgetting I totally agree with your comment.I graduated from Riverdale HS in 2004.
I was born and raised in Clayton County and all throughout I had great teachers and received a great education. My parents and my friend’s parents were involved in our education.
I think it is a shame how people say that they don’t want “our” kids and “our” problems. I remember that year when about 20 new students came in from Fulton county.
I remember how they found affordable housing in our neighborhoods, bringing our property values down. Just about any student kicked out or expelled from that system was accepted by Clayton County. And now other countys say they wouldn’t take our kids?
It is not even the student’s fault. They had no say in all this mess, they’re just getting swept along. I know some very bright students who have worked their butts off to get to where they are, and when their school board fails them, you say they aren’t good enough for your schools?
I guess their goes the saying of “Good ol’ Southern Hospitality”.

Ericka Davis
Rod Johnson
…the two culprits guilty of ruining the Clayton County School System. Total control freaks.
The following are guilty of going along with and aiding and abetting in Davis’s and Johnson’s ethical breaches and stupid moves:
Yolanda Everett
Davis Ashe
Eddie White
Did Davis and Johnson have something on Eddie White that he would be so compliant to their wishes? Of course, we know that David Ashe is Eddie White II, and doesn’t really have a mind of his own on the school board. Yes, Ericka and Yolanda appear to be members of The Dorsey Hopson Bait-and-Switch Yacht Club. Yep, ole Ericka and Steve and Rod and Dorsey didn’t seem to be able to Cross the Rubicon. Perhaps now the Bubicon will “cross the bar” (viz., the one located in the Hurt Building downtown). You told him, Steve, but he would not listen. He answered to his mama Ericka.

Is it true that Dorsey Hopson and Ericka Davis engaged in a bait and switch move on Hopson’s contracts? If they changed contracts without the school board knowing and approving of such, then this is major fraud and should be addressed, if not with the SACS imbroglio, then at least with The State Bar of Georgia. This is a major ethical breach.

**There is still time to call or email your Senator and House Representative to help get Senate Bill 458 passed in it’s current form.
If you don’t know who to call, go to http://www.sos.ga.gov/elections/click on “poll locator” & enter your information to find out who represents you. Below is the email I received today:**
Tomorrow, both of these school choice bills will be voted on by the House and Senate. SB 458 will be voted on by the full House. At this point, we do not know whether we have the votes. If the House does not pass this bill tomorrow, we do not think it will ever pass. If you are a resident of Clayton County and if you care about children trapped in failing schools, I urge you to contact your House members. I have attached a list of House members and their contact information.
Tomorrow, the Senate will vote on HB 1133. This bill offers income tax credits to companies to donate to scholarship funds. The full Senate will vote on this bill. The bill as it came over from the House did NOT offer tuition tax credits to families already in private schools. The House authors have asked us not to amend it. However, if you care about this bill, please let your Senator know. I have also attached a list of Senate members.
This year is proving very difficult for school choice. Anything you can do to help is appreciated. Thank you for caring about education in Georgia.

My name is Rod the High School Diploma, and even I know that using the State Email System to micromanage the Clayton County School System is…well, simply wrong. Hey, Sonny, are you listening? One of the employees under your supposed watch has been abusing the State Email System and using it to micromanage the Clayco School System? Hey, Sonny, do you want me to visit you at the Capitol with many copies of the many, many emails from Ericka Davis where she was micromanaging the Clayco School System from her State job and on State time? If she was not also doing this on State time, then she sure had a lot of coffee breaks. Should I blow up some of the emails on huge styrofoam boards at Kinko’s and take a crew down to the Capitol and picket with these boards?
Talking about boards, have you and your gang of Brad, Bostic, Brock, and Elgart figured out what y’all are going to do with this recalcitrant county called Clayco? Have you yet seen who the real problem has been the whole time…Ericka Davis? Listen to Glenn Brock, Governor. He will tell you. He figured it out a long time ago. If the Whisteblower Haynes was the problem, then why now, one month later, is the board still spinning out of control? Perhaps Rod and his sidekick Steve can put Humpty Dumpty together again. Not.
P.S. I hear that David Reed is putting together a slate of candidates for the upcoming school board race. Hmm.

Don’t blame us. You all deserve what you’re getting. Ya’ll had a great county for a long long time and now look at you - one step above a third world country. How can you let the quality of life get so bad so fast and you only care about your school board? You think we’d have issues taking your students with good behavior, good test scores, and good parents? No we would not. We would have no problems taking your kids if you parents did your jobs in the first place. But look what you adults did to your county. You think we want that influence here? Like it or not, you don’t represent your children very well and noone wants any part of that. So deal with it yourselves until you learn how to manage what you have. But right now, you are flushing your children’s futures down the toilet.
You, not SACS have taken this away from them. Where were you the first time on probation? You think Fayette, Henry, etc. would have put up with that nonsense? Where were you when good leadership (some were known as exceptional throughout Georgia) was voted out because of skin color? The answer is you haven’t and are still not.
Your leadership is a joke and has been for awhile yet you do nothing. And there are no words for your sheriff other than he’s a buffoon - who not only gives Clayton a bad name but makes Georgia look bad as an entire state. He was strike one. Now you’ve let your school board do the same. That’s strike two. Who knows what strike three will be. Why would we want those kind of decision makers in our county?

Well, well, well, my Fellow Reprobates, I see that someone has said something on this divine forum which has brought the Philitines (aka 49ers, Administrative Interlopers, Clayco Refugees, et al.) back out, wanting so badly to openly sing the praises of their Leader-in-Excile, Dan Colwell. Bless their souls. Their 49% pay is so tied to him…for some strange reason, even if only in their minds. I don’t blame them for being mad, but why start this SACS Cauldron in Clayco by having Cephus Jackson (didn’t his wife become a principal?) and Lillie Souder to sign the first complaint in 2003? Now, let’s keep it real. Who started all this SACS Mess? It was the Colwellites…those cult members who could not dare go on without their “boy” in charge. Why was he fired? He had demonstrated in public that he would not only lash out at and be rude to board members of different hue, but also totally ignore their questions in public. I saw this personally. Sorry, but his side lost three seats out of four in the 2004 races and he was history. To the victor goes the spoils. Which country have you Colwellites been living in? Give it up. No, better yet, keep up the whining. You amuse me. The ole Reverend likes to be amused. Merriment is good for the soul. Come see me at The Hosea Williams Memorial Church of World Peace and Reconciliaton Beginning in Clayco located in the Ponytail O’Keefe Shopping Center near Baker’s Bitter Pills. I love y’all. Fellow Reprobates: I see that my word is not inerrant. I left off the “s” in Philistines. 2004 should be 2002. It was in 2003 that Cephus Jackson put his John Hancock on the SACS Complaint. The next very stupid move of such was when Rod Johnson felt that he could shut up Norreese (Whistleblower) Haynes by making several ridiculous complaints against him to SACS. Not a single one of Johnson’s complaints had merit and none stuck. Not a one was mentioned in Mark Elgart’s laughable report, but ole Elgart at the time was still being loyal to Ericka Davis (and I am quite sure that Rod was just doing her dirty work for her). So, Elgart simply cast aspersions against Haynes because of where he works. Davis is one very sneaky and conniving woman…getting Rod to do her dirty work.
Yes, Cephus Jackson and Rod Johnson richly deserve the Clayco Bozo Awards. Hey, Ceph, did your filing the SACS complaint preserve your property values? Hmm. Hey, Rod, did your filing the SACS complaint preserve your chances of getting elected for the Clerk’s job? Hmm. Hey, Ericks, has the SACS complaints of 2003 and 2007 enhanced your career? Perhaps the 2003 did because you were Peachtree City Great White Hope at the time (and ole Terrell still has the school system insurance, right?), but the 2007 did not. Your sheen has become dull. You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time. — Abe Y’all know that your Very Right Reverend Jimmy Jack is going to tell you the truth. Peace, JJB

A 49er is someone who is a half time employee. They work 49% of the school year. Mostly retired people and some parents who want to stay home with young children part time. Often they are in positions other than a homeroom/classroom teaching positions so that they can job share with another half time employee. They do not recieve benefits from the county. It is an advantage to the county having these positions because they get experienced teachers and do not have to pay benefits. Clayton is probably going need them next year when the full time teachers who still have years before retirement jump ship.

Secondly, I absolutely support vouchers. Some of us are paying for private schools and paying our taxes. For those of us who care about a quality education, let us have our money! This has no impact on those who want to stay in poor performing schools. If you want to stay, go ahead and stay. But please take your feet off of the necks of those of us you have been paying twice for years. Use your own money to educate your children and let me have mine!

Crime is up near Clayton County Part of south fulton. I dont live there.
First of all it is not anyones fault but Clayton County resdients that there system is messed up. They voted the fools in so get off my back.
I was just saying that people that live in Clayton have been saying they are moving to Henry, Fayette and South Fulton.
I was saying they should stay there and fix there own mess. There is nothing wrong with my daughters school or the county. Clayton on the other hand is a hot mess probably why you pay for private school for yours.
I rest my case.

Fulton County residents can kiss my grits. If you people had handled your own problems and didn’t dump them in Clayton for us to deal with, Clayton would still be a great place. Now we have to clean up FULTON COUNTY’S MESS. And again, South Fulton ain’t all that, don’t kid yourself. You may be a step up from Clayton. Maybe.
If it were up to North Fulton, they would secede from you. North Fulton’s taxes are making South Fulton “halfway decent”. If it were not for North Fulton, South Fulton would be another Clayton County, probably worse.
You should thank North Fulton every day that you have a smidgen of bragging rights, South Fulton Parent.
I rest my case.

So those metro counties do not want Clayton kids to bring them down? This year 2 of Claytons high schools went to the state basketball playoffs. This year - second year in a row - Lovejoy High technology class - has won state honors. This year - Jonesboro High - which has won 6 state titles of the Mock Trial competition in 10 years - and last year won the National competition in Mock trial - are now going to National again this year. Can any oth those other counties match that? The kids in Clayton are doing alright for themselves. It is the politics of entitlement that is dragging them down. Remember your time is coming.

WTF,
I do thank Fulton county as a whole everyday. First of all you got it wrong as usual City of Atlanta dummped their problems on you not us. They are the ones giving out Section 8 vouchers to be used in Clayton County only.
Never said we was better I said we have our own problems we dont need Claytons as well.
Everyone surrounding Clayton is thinking the same thing they just wont come out and say it.
Come on your students just got banned from Peachtree City.
The sad thing is the ones that lose is the Clayton County Kids. For that I am sorry, I think that as much as you on this blog defend how great your county is should go to your school board meetings and get involved.
To fix this mess so in another 5 years you wont be going through this same thing for the THIRD TIME.

The only blame I’ll accept, South Fulton bourgeois wannabe (by the way, learn to spell - you people who mess up their/there/they’re and its/it’s and too/to/two just drive me crazy and consistently prove YOUR [not you’re] ignorance) is that I failed to speak out and educate my fellow citizens to the folly of their vote for those clowns and campaign for their qualified opponents. I DID NOT vote them in and am now speaking out to get them UN-elected.
Regarding the dismal state of Clayton County, the media is stoking that fire. All of this high drama sells papers and gets viewership. (You all are reading this blog religiously, aren’t you?) South Fulton’s rotten schools are not getting the same spotlight shown on them, thus your mistaken notion that “your daughter’s school” is acceptable.
Frankly, a parent in any public school system should be applauded for making the sacrifice to ensure that their child(ren) are not subject to the indoctrination of government schools, regardless of the perceived quality of that public school.
And speaking of South Fulton, goodbye Ericka. Now Yolanda - my district representative - do the right thing NOW! Resign from the board and slink off to your comfy little teaching job in SW Atlanta in arguably one of the worst school systems in the country, APS.
By the way, Valencia Seay bowed to the pressure of her Fayette constituents and voted against 458, against giving Clayton students a chance at a decent education outside of CCPS. She will NOT get my vote either. TELL A FRIEND!

Isn’t the “City of Atlanta” located in Fulton County? Nuff said!
And for the record, my children are grown, college educated and live their own successful lives. I spent my time at school board meetings, PTA meetings and any and everything else good parents do when they care about their children. I should not have to go to these meetings any more, I did my part when my children were growing up, these parents need to do their part now. But since many are not I will have to attend these meetings to help save my property values. So do not make the assumption that I am not “involved”.
If it makes you & those from other counties feel better to come on blogs and rag on Clayton, knock yourself out. Just remember that Georgia is damn near last in education “as a whole” not just Clayton, and Clayton is not the sole reason that GA is at the bottom. So think about that when you start praising the Fulton Co school system, which “as a whole” might be a step better than Clayton. Maybe. And the schools that are better than Clayton’s sure are not on the south side!
If you and other counties really believe that “banning” students is going to stop them from infiltrating yours schools and neighborhoods, think again. That ban has just forced a bunch of parents to find other more creative ways to get their kids into other schools, and they will. They have been doing so for awhile now.

Students attending a high school that has been accredited in the past two years can get the HOPE scholarship. This provision expires in 2010 and was added expressly for CCPS.
SB 458 will be voted on tomorrow and the bill’s author (Senator Eric Johnson, R-Savannah) recommends that you call (404.656.1776) and/or email your senators and house representatives TODAY because all support is needed if the bill is to be passed.

How does that nursery rhyme go: “Mark and Ericka sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage, and then comes Mark with a baby carriage.” It was a bad political marriage from the beginning, but Mark needed a “black face” to help him beat up on Lois Baine Hunter for calling him out in September of 2007 when he showed up at the Clayton Board Meeting to essentially get Haynes, Scott, Strong, and Hunter in line because they were questioning the two contracts that Ericka Davis and Dorsey Hopson put together, without board approval, as well as other things that Ericka and Rod were doing. (The contracts would be a goog start for the Clayton County Grand Jury.) From that point on, it was a cabal of Elgart, Davis, and Johnson to get Hunter, Scott, and Haynes. This whole fiasco backfired on Mark Elgart (2007-2008 Loser of the Year), Davis, and Johnson. Their tag-alongs, Yolanda Everett (a teacher at Atlanta’s Cascade Elementary School), Eddie White (who just needs to enjoy retirement with wife Eileen), and David Ashe (who, for some unfathomable reason, actually thinks that he can escape Ericka’s “Fire of Rome” without the stench of smoke on his “pink shirt”), deserve their justice…the contempt of the community. Everett-White-Ashe went along to get along. None had the backbone to stand up the the rapacious control freaks, Ericka Davis and Rod Johnson.
The fire got out of control. Mark Elgart did not need Ericka anymore. He kicked her to the curb along with the other expendable and throw-away-board-members. Mark Elgart started this fire on the Clayton County School System. He is responsible. His SACS Report was indeed, as Haynes said from the beginning, “a sham and a farce.” But, alas, he was through with his political marriage with Ericka. He threw her away like she was some cheap tramp he had met in Vegas. He was now with the Governor’s Boys. Hey, there was money to be made in the torn-up, looking like “Post World War II Poland” Clayton County School System. “White Boys & Bostic” (a new band?) sho’ do know how to make some money — at least for their friends. Hmm. Don’t Need Ericka No Moe.
My Fellow Reprobates, your Very Most Reprobate Reverend and his Associate Pastors are gonna have to keep tellin’ you the truth. We gotta do this to keep you informed. Otherwise, these half-witted bloggers who really know nothing and have no seminal thoughts of their own will only keep spewing out the propaganda of the Mark Elgart Camp (which might ought to be sued by the property owners, school system, parents, and realtors for the egregious and poisonous “medicine” which is much deadlier than our “ailment”).

Well what is need is for the Gov Sonny to come in an put in place his own board of trusties on the School Board because of all the cronyism that we have here in Clayton County from Lee/Jewel Scott and their organization the Clayton Democratic Party aka Clayton County Organized Crime Syndicate by them putting up school board candidates so they can control more over this County and let us not forget John Trotter and his crew trying to do the same thing. Humm
How funny that most of the Clayton County Democratic Party members are working for the Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill like Stephanie Denise Campbell ( that is stealing money from the Federal / State Government because she is on disability from Wachovia for a mental and nervous break down and also she has a criminal record that’s still pending for simple battery and Family Violence ) and Jennifer Ross and let not forget the Ex-Phantom Mayor Phaedra Graham
And I believe that the any School Superintendent should be also a Elected Office by the people that way they too can be held accountable to us the citizens and not to be appointed type of position which would stop the power play an cronyism on all school boards across this State this would help to make sure this what happened here in Clayton County will not happen no where else in this State.
There is no HOPE for us in Clayton County with all this madness.

Oh Well, I agree with you to a certain point. I voted for some of these idiots on the school board but race had nothing to do with it. Ignorance on my part of not knowing who the candidates were. It’s hard to know who you are voting for in school board elections because they don’t go through the normal political channels to get elected. Usually there are a few signs and maybe some flyers in the mail.
I think the entire election of school board members should be revamp. Voters should know who they are voting for. What their backgrounds are. They should at very least debate their rivals so we will be able to be more educated on the candidates. I don’t have any kids and as soon as my home sells I will be moving out of the area. Maybe out of the state. I loved this county when I first moved here but now I see more kids hanging on corners, pants sagging, loud music playing, mall crowded with kids with nothing to do… I can’t stand it anymore… Please want something more than a nice ride. Educate and teach your children. And for God’s sake please do not re-elect Victor Hill. That man is crazy!

I am one of those parents who left after speaking at the board meeting and here is why. First, I left work hours early to make sure that I could attend that meeting and was still working via phone & computer. I, unfortunately, could not give more time to that boards stupidity. Does this mean that I don’t care about my community ? No it doesn’t. I, along with many others who left, have been working behind the scenes prior to that meeting and are currently still hard at work attempting to get our community help. I have been involved in my local school district and will continue to be involved as long as my child is a member of this school’s student body. Unfortunately, thanks to this board this may not be for long. I am ashamed of the cloud of negativity that this board has placed over my community. I used to be able to say with pride that I was from Clayton County. Alas, no more.
I was also very offended by the arrogance of the board members, particularly Sandra Scott. The rolling of the eyes and the ignorant display of hostility toward the community was so unprofessional. It did nothing but confirm what SACS stated in it’s report. This board is an embarrassment to the hard working people of Clayton County.
Clayton County as a whole needs to look at ourselves. The public infighting amongst the BOE, the Sheriff, the Police Department and the Board of Commissioner’s Office does nothing to make us look like the wonderful community we are. Newspapers all across the country, as far away as Los Angeles, are labeling my community as being the area that “the poor & uneducated of Atlanta live”. By that, I am offended. That doesn’t describe me nor the people that I live in my community. This stereotype is being openly spread by our neighboring counties, who would like to feel superior to us. They are symbolically lynching our community as a whole. The extremely sad part is that we are providing them the rope. Our leadership is calling the media and grandstanding at every opportunity they can. It’s making me wonder if getting rid of our BOE is just the tip of the iceberg! Maybe we need to gradually clean house completely.
I also don’t like the fact that our leadership is allowing my community to be the dumping ground for the city of Atlanta’s problems. This is why, to a degree, I can understand why other communities are concerned about the influx of Clayton County residents to their areas. The gentrification of Atlanta has hurt Clayton County dearly and many want to prevent the same from happening to their communities as well. I don’t disagree with their concern but I do disagree with their hostility and racism. They are labeling ALL students from Clayton County as thugs, undesirables and lacking in education. This by no means describes my child nor the children of my family and friends that are currently in Clayton County. All of our children are exceptionally bright, well behaved and are outstanding assests to their community. They speak proper English, don’t wear their jeans below their behinds, aren’t in gangs, and are all planning on attending Ivy League Universities. No one takes the time to see that though. They just want to label them based on preconceived notions, encouraged by the media.
I hope that more residents will ban together to help us clean up our community. We can begin with overhauling our school board, but do not need to stop there. We need to take a good hard look at the Board of Commissioners as well. How was Atlanta able to dump it’s problems on us so easily ? Why can’t the people that are being displaced from public housing be placed in rental homes in their own communities ? Why are they being sent to Clayton County to live against their, as well as our, wishes? Why do the Sheriff and Chief of Police feel the need to fight a public battle using the media ? The same goes for the Sheriff and County Commission Chairman. Stop playing t**-for-tat in the media. You are doing nothing but hurting those you are supposed to be serving. We put our trust in all of you, and look where it got us!

Well The Insider I would think it is up to any an all citizens to talk to the School Board Members to resign as from what I hear Bob Hartley is a citizen in this County that has children like most of us do.
As I believe most Rod Johnson supporters are also the same as Lee/Jewel Scott’s since Lee/Jewel Scott put Rod Johnson in office in the first place back in 2003 by their dirty Organized Crime Syndicate Money.
Rod Johnson and all his supporters are trying to smear any ones name that runs for the same office like all the other Lee/Jewel Scott, Leslie Terry, and Cry Baby Victor Hill that needs his diapers changed because when they do not get changed Baby Little Victor gets so dang cranky or maybe the Feds are in town looking at all of them for their crooked deeds they all do.
But if Rod Johnson can not do his Job as a School Board Member that is Fatally Flawed Board Members then his is unfit to run for another Elected Office ( Clayton County Superior Court Clerk ) in this County.
I want to know why is Rod Johnson is not putting his full name on all his campaign signs for Clayton County Superior Court Clerk, only Rod Johnson is putting on them signs is only Johnson humm as Rod Johnson is misleading the citizens again thinking they are voting for someone else and when they will be voting for this Scam Bag Rod Johnson.

I have never voted based on race. I pick the candidate that best reflects my views. This often means choosing the lesser of two evils. Ericka Davis, do you think that we, the People of Clayton County, are imbeciles? Is this another one of the “fake resignations” that you and Rod Johnson* have contrived? How many “resignations” do we have so far? Three? But, your, Rod’s, and Eddie’s posteriors are still sitting in those swivel chairs on 5th Avenue. Are these Nixonian and Shermanesque resignations or Baby Doc Duvallier-type resignations? How long will it take for Ericka to move her daughter to the Fayette County School System once she REALLY steps down from the school board? The Fayette system will not let her daughter arrive to school late each day and eat her McDonald’s breakfast in the Teahers’ Lounge. No more speciall priviledges for Ericka, her momma, and her daughter. Hmm. Perhaps her brother can accuse teachers of having sex with him over there too. What was the verdict? “NOT GUILTY.” Who are you going to throw in jail for bringing this up on this blog? Help, Wyla’s in jail!

To the South Fulton resident:
I left South Fulton almost a decade ago to come to Clayton because of the dismal state of it’s school system and crime infestation. So don’t think you are fooling anyone by trying to blame your area’s horrible living conditions on it’s proximity to Clayton County.
While I was in the area, I made the mistake of going into South Fulton to shop . Ghetto fabulous! Nothing has really changed. The housing prices have just risen. Old National is just as hoodlum as ever. Men were hanging out in front of the liquor stores. I was at the gas station across from Walmart looking around to make sure I wasn’t going to be approached by any beggers. Almost everyone we came in contact with looked like they were right out of a bad blackploitation movie. I have NEVER seen that much brightly colored hair and gold teeth at one time in Clayton County. My child was AMAZED and I had to chastise her for qawking at the freak show. I heard very little correct english being spoken and the customer service inside walmart was by first some of the worst I have ever received at any walmart.
I have friends that still live in our old neighborhood and friends who are new purchasers in the South Fulton area as well. One brand new subdivision off of Jonesboro road is repeatedly being broken into by it’s OWN neighboorhood hoodlums. (Until this fiasco with the Clayton County BOE, South Fulton was the stepchild de jour for the media.)
So get off of your high horse and pay attention to what your children are doing. EVERY community( white, black, brown, or green) will have the same issues with crime as long as parent’s keep refusing to take responsibility for raising their children. We have got to stop letting our children glorify a ghetto culture.

Where does Mark Elgart and Brad Bryant and James Bostic and Glenn Brock (especially Brock since he is an attorney hired by the board of education) get off on thinking that they can tell the Clayton board members to step step? What if a citizens committee dumped all of the Clayton Section 8 students in Elgart’s backyard in Alpharetta and then self-righteously tell the Fulton County Board of Education (whose South schools are like Bosnia or Lebanon) to step down? Or, pointed to Cobb’s lowering test scores and escalated disciplinary problems and told the Cobb Board to step down? And, please don’t get me started on Brad Bryant’s “Premier” DeKalb where they have “Premier” Pistol Whipppings in the schools. Garf.

I’m amazed that the residents of Fayette and Henry County are in such an uproar. Henry County School System did not make AYP and even though Fayette County did, who cares, you only have 27 schools. I’m especially amazed at the level of racism that is exhibited towards these children, they did not ask to be put in a situation where their education is jeopardized. Everyone should be working together to try and correct this situation, no matter what race you are, no matter where you live, no matter what race you are. SHAME OF ALL OF YOU FOR LETTING THE STUDENTS DOWN. The bottom line is the State of Georgia has a lousy public education system and a gread deal of Georgia’s students are failing and it is not just the Black Students, or the Hispanic Students, all students are failing except the Asian students. Think about what they are doing right and we should emulate them.

As these School Board Members is trying to bring Barbara Pulliam as the School Superintendent, this board is fatally flawed if they do because Pulliam and her crony board members got the Clayton County School System in all these problems in the first place. Plus Pulliam belong to the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority as she brought in all her pledge sisters from all over the USA just to come here a work in the Clayton County School System. And that she Barbara Pulliam wasted our Tax Dollars on that Swamp Land Deal up in Riverdale which is next to the dirtiest River (Flint River) in the State that puts our children at risk and in danger with heath problems and maybe in the summer time our children that could get West Nile Virus because of the mosquito’s Humm just more cronies coming to Clayton County just to get Jobs, we are already infested with cronies and close friends working for the DA’s Office, Sheriff’s Office, Solicitor General’s Office.
I guess Clayton County is really screwed now even more so, we just have all these Crooks here now just like I said many times we have our own Organized Crime Syndicate here in Clayton County thanks to Lee/Jewel Scott and their owned Clayton County Democratic Party they (Lee/Jewel Scott) started with their dirty money.

There is always the island of Cuba. They are in need of leadership in the absence of F Castro….maybe the Clayton Board can take over and run it better.
Maybe they can arrange for the import of Ford Escorts and Pintos (for a hidden profit) to replace some of the aging taxis. I am sure someone on the Board has some connections in the car business since they are so WELL connected with everyhting else.
I am certain that they can fix the ailing education system in Cuba as well.

Cuba.needs.a.leader,
Mark Elgart is a KKK. You see he didn’t try to fire the entire White School Board in South Georgia. His and his white cronies Bostic, Brock working for the white minority in the county with their own special interest, which is not in the interest of our Black in children. Yah,let Megan Matteucci select a Superintendent. We see what you white folks and your media is doing.
